The best park I have ever went in. The rides are so exciting and the best part is that the foods are right on the budget.

I went to Sandy Lake Amusement Park with my family this Easter morning. We paid, parked, entered the park and took my 2 year old son to his favorite ride, the cars. Once he was buckled in the lady told us there was no electricity. My 2 year old didn't know why he couldn't ride. His cry broke our hearts. We decided to see the Easter bunny while we waited for electricity to be restored. We were told over the phone the day before that he would be there all day. When I asked the ticket lady where he was, she informed me that he was supposed to be there at 2PM (It was only 10) but everything was on hold at that point due to no electricity. We were a little put out that they didn't tell us about the situation at the gate, but didn't wat it to ruin our day. We decided after being there 15 minutes, not riding ANYTHING or using the picnic area that we would go somewhere else since my son's nap time was 12, we didn't want to waste much time. As we were leaving we asked for our money back and they REFUSED! It was not a lot, but I feel it is terrible customer service. We did nothing and my 2 year little boy had his heart broken. I will not return to Sandy Lake Amusement Park.

I went there with my 3 and 4 year old last weekend. I have not been there since I was in 6th grade band! The place is the same as it was then! My kids loved it! I must say I enjoyed not only watching them have fun, but I just might have had as much fun as they did. If you are a thrill seeker go to six flags this place is not for you. It was very affordable for a family of 4, especially if you have a picnic of your own! Try it out you just might find yourself having a little fun too!

1. Sandy Lake Amusement Park was NOT dirty the day my family and I visited. The bathrooms were very clean - as was every other area of the park.

2. Sandy Lake Amusement Park does NOT need to be updated. Those who suggest this are, unfortunately, blind to its charms. Sandy Lake Amusement Park is a treasure. Yes, the veneer is worn. Some of the colors are faded (although some remain remarkably vibrant) and the seams are showing in places. However, all this faded glory is - and I'm not being melodramatic here - breathtaking. If you spent any part of your childhood in the 1970s or 1980s, I defy you to walk through the arcade, and not feel that you've stumbled into a time capsule. The video games and games of skill (Uh, hello - remember shooting the clown's teeth out? Remember the original Skee Ball?) are all authentic. I don't recall seeing anything in that arcade that was manufactured in the past 18 years. This is a good thing. Promise.

3. Sandy Lake is NOT boring. Let's see...there's an amazing arcade, one of the largest and coolest public pools in the state, a lake on which you can ride paddle boats, a little fenced-in pond where goats, roosters and peacocks live, an antique train (operated by an antique little man) that will carry you around the park for $1.50, lots of super-fantastic-awesome rides, like a teeny-tiny rollercoaster, which they allowed me (I'm thirty-four years old) to ride. My two year-old son, who hated Six Flags (Let's see...long lines, lack of shade, crowds, noise...) LOVED Sandy Lake Amusement Park.

4. Sand Lake Amusement Park is a gem.

5. I forgot to mention that the bumper cars are SUPER-FANCY-TASTIC! They still make sparks on the ceiling! Awesome!

Sincerely,

Brian E.

We've been to the Sandy Lake Park a couple of times. The kids love this place. They have rides, games and great food. Its like a small Six Flags park, but without the expensive cost and crowds. They also have an RV Park right beside so you can actually take the RV and make a weekend gettaway out of it.

Sandy Lake Amusement Park is a fun place to go on a hot summer day and have some fun. They have a lake and a beach where you can swim or play sand volleyball. They have a game area where you can play games and skeeball. They have a vendor area where you can get balloons, face painting etc. And they have a kiddie ride area with 15+ rides for the little ones. The prices are very low and it can be a very fun day. They also have a area where you can get food but it is expensive. It can get very crowded during the summer, especially on very hot days.

This park seems like it needs to be maintained better. I had a pretty good time when I went there, but if the park were cleaner and more up to date, I think I would have enjoyed it more. This might be due to the fact that the park is fairly old. Besides a few minor details, the park is a great place for the entire family. Children seem to enjoy themselves and it's a great place for adults to have fun as well.

PROS: enjoyable for the entire family
CONS: needs to be clean/better maintained

We went here for a work function and I was not very impressed. They had some nice covered areas for you to picnic but the other activities that they offered where old and seemed quite dirty. The price to get in was very affordable though.

Sandy Lake Park has been here as long as I can remember. I remember going out to watch animals diving into a pool when I was about six. It's still a fun place to go, and has all kinds of things to do. However, it looks kind of run-down a creepy, the sort of place that horror films are set. For such an awesomely fun place, it's a shame that they don't upkeep things better. A coat of paint would go a long way.

Sandy Lake Amusement Park is a good bargain for our family of three. They offer games, rides, and carnival/fair type food. We generally opt to take a picnic lunch, a frisbee, and horseshoes and have really good, "old fashioned" fun.

Our 6 year old daughter looks forward to the rides, including the ponies and the little dragon roller coaster. While we all look forward to riding the train, and taking a turn at the paddle boats.

Generally their website has a free admission/parking coupon, and 10.00 in ride tickets makes our daughter very happy.

PROS: Inexpensive
CONS: The bathrooms are very dirty.

Difficult to categorize, Sandy Lake Park offers many types of attractions that draw families from across the state. For just a few dollars, your family can enjoy over 20 kiddie rides (adults can ride, too), including a dunking booth, and an arcade with everything from simulators to skee-ball. All the midway vendors of a carnival find a home at Sandy Lake. There are clowns, balloon artists, face painters and food vendors. For animal lovers, there are Shetland pony rides, and a petting zoo. Athletic enthusiasts can play volleyball, softball, basketball and miniature golf, or try their hand at organized Tug-O-War, Horse Shoes or Sack Races. To top it all off, Sandy Lake Park is unparalleled for water sports, boasting one of the nation's largest swimming pools, as well as "tubing" and paddle boats on Sandy Lake itself.

PROS: Something for everyone!
CONS: Per attraction cost, few indoor attractions

Whether it's the bumper boats on the rather large lake (in my opinion for a bumper boat area) or the low-impact trolly, this is a a fun place to take the kids. The rides are designed for mainly little ones, so that is the main focus.
