Good Store

by Warren S. | insider Insider | Rank: 15,775

Overall the redo of the store gave it a better atmosphere and feel. This gave the appearance of a higher end grocery store. However, the loss of the Chinese kitchen was a downer. In Texas it is hard to get good Chinese food and that kitchen was good and really really convenient.

The store took out the Chinese Kitchen for a reason. And they put in another starbucks for a reason. If you don't think there needs to be another starbucks, then you really shouldn't live in Flower Mound Texas where all the stay at home moms go shopping and go to Starbucks in there work out clothes. But it's funny because they don't work out. They are all a bunch of yuppies! Also, you are talking about paying the clerks more money? They get paid minimum wage, so that is enough. I worked at this same Kroger in 1995 and was paid $4.15/hour as a cashier and now I make $28.13/hour to sit in front of a computer all day and work. They are making plenty of money! Unfortunately, that is how the cookie crumbles!

Convenient if not always the cleanest

by Carolyn C. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 6,302

I've been shopping at this Kroger for six years and knew it by heart - until they did a remodel job earlier in 2005. They took away the Chinese take away counter and added a Starbucks! Who needs another Starbucks? The produce section still needs spiffing up and the clerks could be paid a little better so they would stay around longer than 3 months but overall the store has almost everything a cook needs.

PROS: Convenient and bountiful selection
CONS: Dirty parking lot, bored clerks
