When Cooper came to Man??s Best Friend he was not house trained and did not know any commands. After we came back to get Cooper we followed all of Tyler??s instructions and he no longer does whatever he wants. He is very attentive and listen??s to our commands. He is doing much better in his house training with very few accidents. Thank you so much to Tyler for all his help. Cooper has become a great blessing to our family.

I rescued Waki from a puppy mill at 6 months old. She was afraid of human contact and would not be around people or a leash without shaking. In three weeks MBF had her doing everything I thought was impossible. Now Waki is obeying, protecting and loving people.

Thank you, Man??s Best Friend for training Pete. Pete was 8 weeks old when we got him, He was not potty trained and chewed on everything and everyone. Now he is totally house and crate trained. He gets so excited to show off all of the commands he has learned. We are pleased with his obedience and look forward to going far in his protection training. He is still a puppy and we expect great things in the future.

Since Holly??s effective training date at Man??s Best Friend, she has seen tremendous improvement with her domestication. Trainers, Terry and Patrick, have been nothing less than outstanding when it comes down to proper training, obedience, and protection. Every week there is something new and interesting to learn which benefits not only Holly, but my wife and I also. The most effective training received thus far is Holly coherent ability to not only understand and comprehend but an extreme apparent desire to listen and follow directions given by me and my wife Terry or Patrick. Holly is always excited about going to see them and loves to interact with them be in training or playtime. With this in mind, my wife and I would like to not only to extend our thanks but would also like to congratulate these two fine and extraordinary men on a job well done. Thanks Terry and Patrick. And as one can see, Holly is always ready to come to Man??s Best Friend.

Thank you Man??s Best Friend. The training Gizmo received has made a big difference in our lives. Gizmo is doing great with obedience, we now have the confidence to go out in public with him and bring him in the house in the evenings. I think the protection training has given him the confidence and it has allowed me to overcome my fear of walking him alone. We are just beginning our journey, but I know he will be a fantastic addition to our family. Thanks you for all that you do!

Escher has made great strides in his obedience training. Before the training, he was difficult to control and would not listen. Through the training program, he has learned to obey basic commands and is much more controllable ?? Thanks!

I took my dog there 3 weeks ago!! Biggest mistake EVER!!! They didnt train him at all! My dog lost a ton of weight! Already he only weighed 5 pounds so he didnt have much to lose, yet he did! Also, they gave him the kennel cough spray 3 days after being there instead of telling me that it takes a week for the body to start protecting from kennel cough. So now I have my dog at home, same as before, except he is sick! Kennel Cough!! He is just really down and so we have an appt today with the vet! Save your money and your dogs misery! Read things online for tips for training! I feel so stupid for taking my dog here!

We are very grateful to Man??s Best Friend and most especially, our trainer Laurie for helping us with our giant, rowdy puppy, Harley. When we adopted him in December 2008, we knew we were going to need help teaching him puppy manners and basic obedience, along with curbing his non-stop mouthing/play biting. We were hesitant to leave him for two weeks so soon after adopting him, but Laurie kept us up to date on his development during that time. When we picked him up, we were extremely pleased to see the progress he had made ?? he could heel, sit, ??down? and ??stay? on command. We attend follow-up lessons on a weekly basis (during which Laurie ??trains? my husband and me regarding how to properly handle our dog), and Harley cannot wait until Saturday afternoon when he gets to see his ??buddy? Laurie. While they are more expensive than your typical PetSmart obedience class, it??s well worth it given the outstanding results, especially if you have a dog with behavior issues (chewing, play biting, excessive barking, housebreaking, etc.). We used a mainstream obedience class with our previous dog, and after 12 weeks, he ??graduated? knowing not a single command. Any suggestion that the trainers at Man??s Best Friend ??hurt? or are ??mean to? dogs is ludicrous. I have seen both of their current trainers in action - with my own large, rowdy dog and others (even bigger and more obnoxious than mine) - and I cannot imagine two more patient, soft-spoken, dog-loving people exist anywhere on the face of the earth. Harley LOVES Laurie, and he dances around in a circle like a little goofball every time he sees her. I work around the corner from their facility, drive by it several times a day, and see dogs getting exercised all the time ?? dogs are not locked in kennels all day, starved to death and forced to eat their own excrement as some have intimated below. If they mistreated dogs in their care in any way, then my dog (and every dog I see going in there) would not be grinning, dancing around in excitement, and straining their leashes to get inside. We have been extremely happy with our experience and I would gladly recommend Man??s Best Friend.

Pros: Use positive reinforcement; highly experienced trainers

When we "adopted" our dog 18 months ago, we knew immediately that the best thing we could do would be to enroll her in the program at Man's Best Friend, where our other dogs had been trained. We missed her while she was there for 2 weeks, but were very happy when we picked her up. She had been well cared for while she was there and was a happy, playful puppy who now knew the basic commands. We continue to take her back for "maintenance" group classes and she can't wait to see her trainer, Laurie, and the other dogs that are in her class. I would highly recommend that anyone who has a dog or is considering getting a dog make this commitment. It is well worth the time and money.

We've been coming to Man's Best Friend in Grand Prairie for our dog training needs for 14 years. They have successfully trained 5 dogs for us. We've had several friends use them as well, all with great results. Our dog that's training there now just loves going to her group class. It's lots of fun for her and she adores her trainer Laurie. We've gotten our money's worth, that's for sure. I would highly recommend MBF for anyone wanting a well mannered dog. They use lots of positive reenforcement and lots of TLC! They also have a great boarding facility.

Prior to taking my dog to Man's Best Friend I had read the online reviews and was very sceptical. However, I knew 2 different people who had taken their dogs here and had positive experiences, so I reluctantly gave them a try. I am amazed by the progress my puppy has made in such a short time and have nothing but positive things to say about Man's Best Friend. Of the negative reviews that I had read, the things that concerned me the most were the comments about other dogs losing weight and getting sick during their two week stay and the comments about the perceived cruelty and the dogs being afraid of the trainers. I am happy to report that I did not experience any of these. When I arrived to pick up my pup I was surprised to see how good she looked. She had gained 3 pounds and was freshly bathed. As for being afraid of the trainers, I have the lifetime program so I take her weekly for training and she LOVES going up there. She especially loves her trainer, Laurie! Before taking her to Man's Best Friend I was on the verge of returning her to the shelter. She had destroyed everything in my home, was incredibly mean to my cat, and had bitten me to the point of drawing blood. She is now a completely different dog and I cannot imagine giving her up. The training we have received at Man's Best Friend has been worth every penny!

I read mixed reviews on this place & finally decided to take my chances & throw down the $1200 to get my 14 week old some obedience lessons at the Grand Prairie Location. Yes, I said $1200 (I'm a doofus, i know).

So they took her in for 2 weeks & when I got her back, she weighed 5 pounds less, had kennel cough, & had learned how to eat her own feces. Oh yeah, she learned to sit every once in a while & I stress the every once in a while part.

They won't let you have any contact with your dog for the 2 weeks except for being able to watch her through a 2-way mirror so for all I know my puppy could have been locked in a kennel for 2 weeks straight with minimal training/recreation time. I'm guessing that she learned to eat her feces from lack of being fed or lack of attention or she learned it off another dog.

We're still attending the follow up's because I threw down the $1200 bucks but the follow ups consist of me walking the dog around a room, telling the dog to "heel" & "sit" while the trainer watches & critiques. I understand that I have alot of work to do with my puppy but I did drop $1200.00, shouldn't the trainer be working my pup like she was a prize fighter?

My advice to you is to find a dog trainer that will come to you once or twice a week to train your dog under your supervision, take bids from various trainers & interview them before you commit to anything. I wished that I would have followed that advice, I'd be $1200.00 richer right now & have a dog that doesn't eat it's own feces or anybody else's feces for that matter... But she sure can SIT every once in a while! I'm such a doofus, $1200!

I entered into a contract with Man's Best Friend at the beginning of 2006 and to this date beginning of 2007 I have only received 6 lessons and only gained headaches, vet bills and court fees!!! Man's Best Friend agreed to do in home lessons with me and my dogs after one of them some how developed neck injuries after the 2 week training session!!! After Man's Best Friend did not show up for the in home lessons and did not contact me for other arrangements I took them to court! In court it was amazing to see the manager squirm and try to say he did nothing wrong!! They felt as though they didn't owe me a refund it was my fault that they didn't show up!! I received a judgement so we will just see if that gets paid, I will let you make your own opinions!!! So before letting your precious dogs stay at one of their facilities I would think twice - you will get your dog back but your money will go straight down the drain!!!!!!!!

They offer the best training for your pet. Positive reinforcement training is the best way to go. The people here are great and your pet gets loving training that will last. They also offer boarding and more.

A friend of mine suggested that I take our dog to man's best friend and we did because she was destructive. I was shocked at how expensive it was but it really did work and they trained her to do more than stop tearing stuff up. She now listens and we can take her on walks. You can take your animal back for a refresher course if they forget what they have learned and it is free. The staff is nice and the trainers really know what they are doing.

Training for your dog is a must or they will tear everything up. This is one of the best places. They are great with animals and their technique works wonders even on the worst animal. I was pleased with the quality and care they use with you best friend.

We took our dog to Mans Best Friend, and it is so expensive, but they did a good job with her. Also we like the fact that we can take her back for her lifetime if she "forgets anything she has learned.

PROS: They really do train your dog
CONS: Very expensive
