1 Stars: Please Don't go here! (by Lance W.)

The food is terrible but most of all the management is very unprofessional and discriminate against people in wheelchairs. The female owner waited on me if you would even call it that! I waited a long time for my meal and the owner never came over to refill my tea. I had to ask another waiter for another basket of chips and hot sauce. The manager who waited on me never came over to see how my meal was. After I was through eating the manager came over to give me my ticket and I asked if I could have another refill on tea. She was about to leave me my ticket when she snatched it up and wrote a 0.75 cent charge for asking for another bowl of sauce. When I questioned her she told me that I had 3 bowls of hot sauce. When did having hot sauce at a Mexican restaurant start charging for hot sauce. There is no where on the menu where this is listed. After arguing with her for several minutes she went over to the register and grabbed 3 quarters and walked over to my table and slammed it down on the table and said here is your 0.75. I was totally humiliated since there were several customers around me. The next day I called the restaurant and talked to a waiter and asked for the other manager. He said he was not there and I told him what had happened and he said that the manger acted unprofessional. I asked for the other manager to contact me and it has been 2 weeks and no word yet. Please Dos Panchas take your business and leave Mesquite!

3 Stars: So so & convenient (by Roxanne G.)

The food is not bad...not great...and the service is okay but few of the waitresses speak much English so if you have any kind of a special order that can be a problem to communicate to them. The food is NOT tex-mes...it is more authentic and so when you think you are getting something mainstream you could be surprised. With that said you do get plenty of food for your money and it is edible...we just don't go out of our way to go there unless we are close by anyway.

1 Stars: Not Great. (by J S.)

We heard about Dos Panchas when we attended the Dallas Farmers Market Hoedown last week and wanted to try it. We love mexican food and particularly authentic, but Dos Panchas was a huge dissapointment.
The good things were the hot sauce, which was yummy although not spicy and the bean soup which was excellent. The problem was that we had to ask for it, even though it's complimentary.
The service was poor from the start and we didn't get our drinks for nearly 10 minutes after being seated, then no one ever came back to take our order so we had to flag someone down. There were only 3 other tables that had customers in the whole restaurant, so we didn't expect to be neglected. The bottom line is that there were 3 waitresses for 4 tables and they couldn't get the job done. My husband ordered the Carnitas which should be tender, juicy shredded pork served with cilantro and onions. Instead he received big chunks of pork that were dry, chewy and served with lettuce and cheddar cheese. I ordered the Enchiladas Poblana which is chicken enchiladas with Mole sauce. The shredded chicken inside was very good, but the sauce was bland and one of worst moles I've had in town. Kudos for the refried beans, but the rice was just so-so. After our dissapointing meal my husband asked for a refill on his soda and she brought a refill and then told us she charged him for another drink. Now I know that when you are served soda in a can you can expect to be charged for each can, but when it's a fountain drink you expect free refills. Nope, not at Dos Panchas. I beg you not to try this restaurant unless you have very low expectations and don't mind poor service. We will never go back. I do recommend Cuquitas for the best Chilaquiles in town and Dos Banderas for their great Fajtas Poblana and the #16.

PROS: Good beans and bean soup, if you can get it.
CONS: Lousy service, no refills on drinks, overcooked pork

2 Stars: Yuck! Dissapointing experience @ Dos Panchas (by dfwfoodie)

As we drove away from the restaurant my husband and I were laughing and saying the restaurant should be called "Dos Punches" because we felt like we had been punched in the gut. Yes, it was that bad. Mostly, it was the service. There were 3 waitresses and 4 occupied tables, but we just couldn't get anyone to take our order. I finally got someones attention and although she said she was not our waitress, she begrudgingly agreed to take our order. The food was not great. We ordered Carnitas and Enchiladas Poblana. If you know Carnitas, then you know it's juicy, slow cooked, shredded pork. What we got was oddly shaped chunks of dry, chewy pork and it was served with lettuce and cheddar cheese instead of the traditional cilantro and onions. My Enchiladas Poblano was not impressive. The mole sauce was bland and seemed almost watery. The chicken inside was good, but it just didn't make up for the sauce. We had heard that Dos Panchas had a great bean soup that is complimentary with your meal, but we never received a soup, so I finally asked for it. It was good, but they didn't seem too eager to serve it to us. Lastly I have to warn you that they do no offer free refills. We are more than familiar with restaurants that serve soda in cans and we know they charge for each can you get, but when it's a fountain drink you expect refills. We were just about to leave but my husband wanted a few more sips of DrPepper, so he asked the waitress for a little bit more. She brought a full glass and then told us she had to charge us for another drink. It was a waste of our money all the way around. OH! and I almost forgot... We printed out the coupon that Dos Panchas had on their website and took it with us. The "hostess" looked it over for about 5 minutes with a suspicious eye and then finally agreed to accept it. Now that's lousy service!!! It was their coupon, from their website!!! Save yourself the trouble and avoid this restaurant.

5 Stars: Yum! (by Sharla H.)

My family and I love this place. The food is good and the complimentary bean soup just can't be beat. They also offer lunch prices even on Sunday, but it is crowded and they tend to seat their family members first. They are a okay.

PROS: Awesome Bean soup
CONS: Place is old.
