American Black Belt Academy

I have know of the ABBA for many years, and the chief instructor, Grand Master Larry Ritchie, is one of the most respected martial artists and instructors in Texas. His students excel in attitude, courtesy, maturity, respect, academics, tournaments, and self-defense. ABBA is a topnotch school anyone should be proud to train at, to send their children to, and to be associated with for its long and successful history. I know it is one of the longest continuously-running schools in Texas, and definitely in the Houston area.
I am proud to include my review for this exemplary school, all of its excellent students and instructors, and for Grand master Ritchie.

Mr. Ritchie is World Class. You apply what you learn sparing twice a week with monthly tournaments. His self defense lessons are directly from the real world having provided security for Houston Rock concerts in the 70's and 80's. Great discipline and leadership for children/Young adults. The real deal.

I have been training at ABBA for a number of years. During that time I have had occasion to visit other schools. I haven't found one where the quality of instruction is as good as that at ABBA. I highly recommend the school to anyone interested in martial arts training.

ABBA is not just another place to park the kids for an hour. It's a positive motivational experience that benefits the whole family. Your child is encouraged to succeed not only in the gym, but in their school work and their behavior at home. As your child advances they are given responsibilities and opportunities for leadership. But most of all it's fun!

ABBA is a great school for people of all ages and skill levels. Professional instruction and excellent training facility/equipment. I highly recommend this school to anyone interested in martial arts training.
