Poor Customer Service
by Robert E.
Staff avoid construction material and other heavier item areas by hiding out in small parts sections. Other employees rush around aimlessly, too busy to assist. They avoid eye contact and avoid all possible contact with customers. When two or three employees gather, they are rude if you interrupt to seek assistance.
Living in the country, I have phoned and verified products to be in stock only to drive to Lubbock and find they don't have the item or to find the item is only available by special order.
If you ask to speak with a manager, you seem to get the newest employee who doesn't have a clue about being a manager and who appears to have no authority. If I ran my business with such poor customer service and left my bins as disorganized as Home Depot, I would be fired or bankrupt. They are my last resort for home improvement needs.
What a shame when Home Depot has such great potential.
PROS: Good selection and price, if you can find it yourself.
CONS: Poor management and lack of customer service.

I've been into the Home Depot in lubbock on numerous occasions looking at home improvement items as well as landscaping materials. The store is usually in a state of disarray and quite messy. It's often difficult to find prices on items. About the only thing I've purchased there are a couple of large trees that were good sized and very cheap. I tend to shy away from Home Depot and shop primarily at Lowes
