Dr. Metcalf is the best vet my animals have ever had. Caring, trustworthy, patient, empathetic...I could go on and on. Take your pets here, trust me. They don't rip you off or prescribe unnecessary meds. The staff LOVES every animal that comes in there and makes them feel special. Note to anyone reading this...if your animal is dying it will cost some money to try to keep them alive. That's just the way it is! Rest assure, these guys will let you know when your animal's quality of life becomes too poor to go on.

Having worked in the animal world for awhile, I am very wary of Vets & how thye treat my rescued Boxers. I have a 13.5 y/o, a 3.5 y/o & an 18 mth old. All were either my fosters or rescues through Sav-A-Paw in Flower Mound. Granted, Dr. Peek & Dr. Metcalf are a bit abrupt & they sometimes suggest things for my old dog that doesn't seem reasonable, I still believe they are good Vets. Bedside manner is only for the huimans, not for the animals. I believe that both Drs. are knowledgeable & caring. They've always been very good with my animals. Having a 13.5 y/o Boxer is proof enough.

I have only lived in Texas for a short period of time, but needless to say I have 6 animals in which need care of. I have taken them to several different clinics, but this one is it for us! I first went and had Dr. Peek and was not very satisfied. He seemed as if he had somewhere better to be rather than take care of my dog. Afterwards, I brought her back for a check up and Dr. Metcalf was dealing with her and I was very satisfied and impressed with the knowledge and care he took care of my Baby. Ever since I have brought my animals there and have been very satisfied with their prices and employees. I have only seen Dr. Peek that one time, but that was enough for me. Dr. Metcalf is the only vet my babies will see!!

I have been going to Drs. Peek and Metcalf for years with my many animals (both my own and strays) and have always received great service at a reasonable price. They can usually see me within days and if it's an emergency they'll fit me in right away. They do not perform unnecessary surgeries and do not prescribe unnecessary medications. I feel confident that my animals are being diagnosed and treated properly and that's why I'll never go anywhere else. They are also more than willing to answer my many questions and print out any information that they deem helpful. Also, their technicians and receptionists are unfailingly polite. My furbabies won't go anywhere else.

I love Dr. Metcalf, he's great with my dog. Dr. Peek on the other hand seems to be annoyed with animals. Maybe its just my dog but after a really bad experience with him I refuse to see him anymore and I ONLY go to Dr. Metcalf. The rest of the staff is good, friendly, knowledgible

Dr. Peek has been my vet of choice for many years. He is knowledgable and is very caring toward my many animals including a few strays I have brought in. I highly recommend him. I have known him to go back after hours and go in early to check on animals that were sick. His staff has always been friendly and kept me updated on when I had to leave a pet for surgery. They have worked hard to accomodate my busy work schedule. I would not go anyplace else.

Don't take your dog or cat here. I was a little worried when I took my dog in to get boarded for a week because the people were rather rude. When I returned to pick up my dog, his toy wreaked of urine (he is completely potty trained) and there is no way he would pee all over his toys unless they didn't take him out as they said they did. DONT GO HERE!

I have been coming to Davis Blvd Animal clinic since I was 7 years old. Dr. Metcalf has watched me grow up and has cared for all of my precious pets! He has always been kind, compassionate and straight forward. I particularly adore his vet tech Troy! Talk about compassionate! Troy has been his right hand man for years and does a great job! Dr. Peek is a perfect compliment to the team and I enjoy his smile and sense of humor! The front desk staff is always helpful and makes sure that my little furry babies are cared for! They are an amazing clinic! I recommend them to everyone!

We have seen Dr. Peek several times this past year. My Brittney has a disease of both eyes where his immune system does not recognize his eyes as being part of his body. It's been hard for me and him. I believe Dr. Peek has saved his eyes, for now. He takes drops in his eyes each day. When I call they are so kind and caring about getting his meds soon as possible. I have a big thank you to the clinic for their support. The meds are expensive, but the vets don't get those free, so neither do the patients. Having an animal is costly, but most are willing to try and save their animal.

This was the 3rd vet that I had gone to when my dog (Airedale) had some blood in his rectal area. Nothing anyone had done had helped. Dr. Metcalf diagnosed it quickly, did a nice neat surgery on the area, and my dog has never had another problem with it again. I have been loyal customer ever since. Dr. Metcalf can sometimes (only occasionally) appear to come off as speaking abruptly, but don't let that put you off! You are not there for their personalities, you are there for COMPETENCE. And Dr. Metcalf is quite competent and knowledgeable.

My husband and I felt like the vet that we had been using was a little too expensive so we thought we would try another vet.I took my old cat to them in an effort to keep her comfortable in her last days. They came up with so many different kinds of illnesses in the three months before her death that it was mind boggling. Every time I took her to their clinic it was at least $100 and most of the time several hundred dollars. The day before she died was a Monday, I took her up there because every time she urinated it was almost pure blood. I also told the vet that she was having alot of trouble breathing. Not only was I put in to see a vet that I had previously told the owner Dr. Peek that I never wanted to see again but I had to endure his rude behavior. This vet was one that filled in for them when they were overloaded and I did not like him because of his lack to knowledge of animals and his rough handling of the animals .Dr. Peek was right behind him in the next room the whole time and I asked the Vet to please turn around and get Dr. Peek since Dr. Peek has been the vet that was treating her. He told me that he could read the chart. He then told me she had a kidney infection and that she would be just fine in a couple of days if I gave her the antibiotics and other meds he was sending home with me. He charged me 89.00 that day. The next day she was much much worse and I took her and the meds he had given me back up to the clinic. Two of the meds had not even been opened. I was told that I would have to leave her since it was their surgery day and someone would call me shortly. Three hours later Dr. Peek called and let me know that she was in a coma that she would not come out of and he thought it best to put her to sleep to keep her from suffering. I told him that I would come up there right then so I could be wlith her but he said that she was so far gone that she would not know I was even there. I knew that they had left her in her carrier and had not even looked at her until right before he called me. My poor baby had laid there dying without me the whole time. I was just sick!!In three months time they had gotten at least $1000 dollars out of me and my poor animal only suffered more than if I would have just kept her at home instead of taking her up there to get something to help her pain............I hope that no one else is taken in by them and they go down the street to the Neighborhood Pet Clinic or one of the other vets in the area . We have since gone back to our original vet even if he is a little higher in price. We at least know that someone that truly likes our animals is taking care of them and does not charge us for anything unnecessary or for something that we dont understand.

We had to take our pup in for eye problems as a result of dry eye. The dog ended up having to have surgery but Dr. Peek and Dr. Metcalf have been extremely attentive and caring with him and have saved his eyes. They have been excellent in keeping charges down to a minimum and very helpful in explaining medications and treatment. We feel extremely confident in all of the physicians there. We enjoy the staff as well. They are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this vet practice to anyone!
PROS: Extremely attentive, caring, price conscious
CONS: None

I had to take my dog into Davis Boulevard Animal Clinic to get her claws clipped and to have her teeth looked at. The staff was wonderful and very gentle with my puppy. I was impressed with the vet who took time to explain everything to us. The prices were good for what they did and for how hyper our puppy is. There was tons of parking and room in the waiting room.
PROS: Nice staff
CONS: Can't think of any

The doc is a little condenscending, but he knows his stuff, so I'll cut some slack. Office staff is relatively friendly, but don't go out of their way to help. Have never used him for an emergency, but have been bumped by those that needed him, so he is definitely attentive to those patients. The office offers grooming (overpriced!) and kennel services which are only slightly overpriced for the area.
