i cannot believe i am hearing an criticism of Dr. Meyers! i had to register to disagree - strongly. Dr. Meyers is extremely caring, he has taken care of many of my animals & i adore him! i am very sorry for those who have had problems when putting down beloved pets, that is an awful time & it's hard for anyone to know what to do. anger often gets put where it doesnt' belong, loss is terrible but blame has no place during grief. i know anger is one of the stages but i have to stick up for Dr. Meyers. tho i sympathize i have to say i have found it is Dr. Meyers personality to never tell anyone they need to put an animal down, he has left the decision to me & my husband during these times & i appreciate his consideration.
Dr. Meyers goes to extraordinary lengths to save pets, he never gives up on one. we have chosen to stay with him because we consider this trait a strength, far better than having a vet who gives up too easily. yes that means the owner, as it should be, is left to make the final decision themselves. he believes we know the animal better than anyone & it should be our call. i would prefer to make the decision than to 2nd guess if i listened to a vet who made it too quickly for me.
I have been going to Animal Care Clinic since 1988. Dr Arrand was the most caring and compassionate Vet my animals have ever had. Instead of allowing you to throw money at a lost cause, he would say.."if she were my cat...."
I took my beloved cat of 16 years in to see Dr. Meyer on 12/4/10 because she was loosing weight, and not eating much. $400 later the Doctor diagnosed her as having a hyper-thyroid with some complications to the kidneys. He gave me medication and a script to pick up a compound for her hyper-thyroid on Monday. By Monday I was back at the Vet in tears with my precious kitty who was near death. It was obvious to me her liver was shutting down due to the yellowing of the eyes/ears. I told Dr. Meyer that I didn't want her to suffer, poor baby couldn't even stand up. He scooped her up and said he would put her on an IV solution, etc and see if she would make it through the night. No options were given to me and no recommendation to have her put down was brought up, something I know Dr. A. would have recommended from the onset.
I called the clinic at 7:30 the next morning asking if she had made it through the night. The girl who answered the phone placed me on hold for 5 minutes and came back saying she was the only one there and didn't have time to check my cats chart, when I know that I would have taken less than a minute to walk in the back and look at her. At 9:20 I received the news that my cat had passed away during the night from the acting Vet of the day. Another $275 later I pulled my dogs records from the clinic and will not be returning. Incidentally it would have cost me a total of $107 to end my cat's suffering and it seems awfully odd that no evidence of liver damage was found in the tests from Saturday. A good vet will advise you on making those painful decisions rather than give you false hope when you are distraught over the possible loss of a four legged family member. After this incident I feel that Dr. Meyer is working for the $$$ and not because he loves the animals he works for. Six days later I have yet to hear from Dr. Meyer regarding the loss of my cat...
Im going to start off by saying that I LOVE THIS CLINIC!! i recently brought my new puppies Minnie and Mickey to Animal Care Clinic. The girls at the front desk were super sweet. I believe their names were Courtney and BJ they had smiles on their faces when i walked in. they took all my information down and got me in right away. i was very pleased to not sit in the exam room for very long like i had at other clinics. Dr. Meyer saw my pets and listened to all my questions and answered them all right away. After i saw Dr. Meyer and went back up front to wait for my medications, i held a great conversation with the girls up front. This clinic is truly a good clinic with a great staff! I recommend this clinic to everyone!!
Recently had an appointment at the Animal Care Clinic, and was so pleased to walk in to all the smiling faces. I was having a bad day that day but when I got there I had forgotten about it all. The women who work at the front desk were so concerned about my dogs condition. He was very sick and I didn't think that he was going to make it. Anya went out of her way to console me and reassure me that everything was going to be OK! Its hard when these times and choices come upon us, but it made it easier to deal with knowing that someone knew what I was going through. I have brought many other animals in since this time and have had nothing but good experience with all the staff there. Dr. Meyer has a great team working for him.
BEWARE!!! It is Anya's personal mission to destroy this clinic one customer at a time. I have been going to this vet for years and I have never been treated as horribly as when I have to deal with Anya. First of all, her only job is to answer the phone and book appointments, but she is completely incompetent to do that. If you book an appt for a Wednesday, it's your best guess what Wednesday she has you down for. Really it's all about what Anya wants and not about what the customer requests. I don't think even she knows bc her head is so far up her butt. Maybe she is also illiterate and that's why she gets all these simple things so badly mixed up? And then to top it all off, she has the audacity to be rude to you when you show up for the appt you booked, that she incorrectly took down! While Anya is by far the absolute worst, there are other front counter people that suck almost as bad. It is apparent that the Dr there, Meyers, doesn't care at all how his long time customers are treated. Nobody over there knows anything about customer service. I actually think they don't want customers, it is clear Anya doesn't bc she has committed herself to running them off one by one. It is really a shame, this place was once, before the previous Dr's death, a nice place to take my animals. Now all I get is hung up on, literally, but the receptionists Anya. BEWARE!!!
Excuse me "star", but I have 4 pit bulls and am a tech and have never had any problems with pit bulls. Small dogs are the worse! They are very unpredictable and have more of a tendency to bite. How can you say beware animal lovers when you are a hateful person yourself?
to the customer who left a review for Jessica moore:
I'm a dog groomer myself, while I do not agree with anyone sedating your dog for grooming without letting you know that is just wrong. you SHOULD know, 100% that is a decision only YOU should make.
However saying you don't own a pitbull, but a small dog is so....stupid.
First off I love pits. They are some of the most affectionate and happy dogs you'll ever encounter. At work I have to watch out for the little dogs!!
Most people think because they're small they dont need to be trained or taught manners. I get bit by them a lot. I have never been hurt my a big dog. I'm not in anyway saying YOUR dog is untrained and awful because obviously I dont know that. But it could be possible. Not that it's a reason to sedate him/her.
But come on. back off of pit bulls
My dog has been going to Animal Care Clinic for 5 years now, service has always been great until the new staff came in. The girl at the front desk is very unfriendly, not helpful at all! In the begining I thought it was just because she was new, that was not it at all! After another mix up with her and a unfriendly visit with her I see it is not because she is new it is just how she is! When I tried to explain to her I was unhappy she said do you want to go somewhere else? DId not say she was sorry did not try to make me feel better in anyway!! After talking to others about my day they said I should let the doctor know and or tell the office mgr. so I called to speak them, I was told she was not in that day, after hearing someone in the back ground say "tell her I am not here" How does anyone expect to keep or get new business like this!
After 17 years of companionship, my beloved dog had to be put down last week. As if the experience in and of itself wasn't bad enough, the service my pet and I received was HORRIBLE! I called and made the appointment, when I arrived the girl behind the front desk was rude, not to mention very cold and unfeeling. Whoever took my appointment didn't put down WHY I was bringing my dog in so I had to rehash that, they don't sedate your pet beforehand so I had to ask for it and then when they came to give it, jabbed the needle in so hard my dog was crying and bleeding everywhere. The doctor then proceeded to rush right into giving the shot to put my pet down after I had specifically requested to NOT be present for that. They were very, very rude and in too much of a hurry to be rid of me during a very difficult time. I will never take another pet to this establishment. When Dr. Arand was there, it was a very good office; professional service and caring are now gone from there and I discourage anyone from using them.
Animal Care Clinic has a very friendly staff and its an excellent place for all of your pets health issues. The Vets as well as the technician are all very knowledgeable and caring. They will most certainly take great care of your animal. Their extended evening hours make it a very user friendly business so you can schedule visits after work, if its not an emergency situation.

We've been using this Clinic for years for our 3 boys (cats) and I've never had a bad experience here. One of our cats was sick as a kitten and had to go back weekly for Vet care and the price was reasonable and the care was excellent. He was better in 3 months and we didn't go bankrupt! Dr. Arand is the best! The clinic is always clean and the staff is friendly.
PROS: Caring Staff & Doctors
CONS: Only one Dr. Arand to go around!

What happened to animal care? Are most of the vets here in Round Rock money hungry? This place had afforable pricing for heartworm preventative and for flea prevention. Didn't get my pet spayed at this place because I wasn't to fond about paying over $300.00. Other pet was diagnosis with thyroid and was told she will be lathargic and see considerable amount of weight gain if not put on medication ASAP. Today, pet is FINE and have not seen anything different. I feel like my pet was misdiagnosis. Will not be telling my family and friends about this place that's for certain!

I would highly recommend taking your pet to them,
They do not suprise you with shots or costs that your pet does not really need and the vet there really has a way with dogs. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Pros: Excellent doctors
Beware of Jessica Moore, the groomer. Im sorry, I hate to say that, but how are you going to sedate my pet for a simple grooming, and not let ME (the owner) know about that?? The girl who checked me out that day, --happened to mention he was sedated for the grooming, and since my pet has been getting groomed with Jessica for the past year has been getting sedated for Grooming!!! --I was like excuse me??==whaat?..Mind you, I do not have a pitbull, he's a small dog. I had asked to speak with Jessica, but she was not there, and called back twice for her the next day and was not available. All I can say, is that says alot about her character and BEWARE to all you pet lovers out there!!!!!
Cons: Sedated my pet without my knowledge
