Think deep fried buffet and very large patrons filling their gullets with mediocre food.
Not a big fan, tried it for lunch and although they do give huge portions it is just ok at best.
Wait staff is older ladies whom I'm guessing would be much happier chain smoking, but they are nice enough.
If cheap, large portion and fried works' you'll like it. If not, don't bother.
This place was packed!! They had the best tasting catfish. I tried the spicy fried and it was not greasy
at all. The hushpuppies were homeade and they had homeade jalapeno tartar sauce.
It was fun seeing all the antique signs and pictures!
Pros: Fresh fish
Cons: not enough of them!
If you enjoy visiting nursing homes or trailor parks this is the place for you. Everything is fried or comes from a box. The food is dry, overcooked and lacks originality and flavor. I was very dissapointed that I wasted my money on bad food and a bad experience. If you don't feel like throwing up I recomend you avoid this establishment.
Pros: Smells like a trailor park
Cons: Smells like a trailor park
The food was not just the best seafood I have ever tasted, but it was good. The vibe you get from the restaurant is that it is a homey/local kind of place that everyone could be welcome too( as long as you aren't too much of a minority/wierdo/anti-southern laidback person). Alright, I will admit it I was kind of put off by the outside to go in.. I thought it was a bar for old, white guys to drink and watch sports. I mean all the staff were friendly to me so I was pleasantly surpised. Also, taking a look around the restaurant revealed that looks can be deceiving as their were plenty of people of different ethnicities eating there. The vibe is reaffrimed even more as they bring you side orders out of these tupperware looking bowls with a big ol spoon, these crunchy little appetizers, and an old lady who served us who looked like a really nice grandma who could bake cookies one moment and then whoop you with a belt the next. I will think about stopping by in the future as the prices are almost overdone for the food. $13 dollars a plate is a bit much. This is not a fancy big named franchise.
Pros: food is actually good
Cons: the price is almost too much
I went here one time and the food was pretty good. The shrimp and fish were delicious and their oysters were to die for! Their menu really dosent offer as many things as I had hoped for. The service was lousy, but since it was the only time I have ever gone, I don't know if that's something you always get there or if I just got a ltitle bit of bad luck. The food is a pretty good deal for what you pay, but honestly, I would recomend Cherry Creek over this place any day. Everything there is SUPERB!
Pros: oysters, shrimp
Cons: limited menu, service
Best fish I ever had. Not greasy and very tasty. I also loved the gumbo and the side dishes. I was stuffed and could not attempt the deserts.
Pros: filling, cheap
