My family has been eating at The Cheesecake Factory about every other week now since it opened -- But We Will Never Ever Go Back There Again.
I am a student and am currently taking a photography class. I noticed the lighting on the outside of the building so I wanted to snap a photo of the outside of the building.
A over zealous security guard ran me off the premises and insinuated I could be a terrorist as if The Chessecake Factory was some high value target for Al Quida. He told me to leave and that I was trespassing and followed me to the car, called in my licence plates, while calling for police -- I could not believe it!

A HUGE disappointment!!! The wait is long and the food is mediocre at best. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi and Herb crusted salmon. What I got for 20 bucks was three soggy shrimp (perhaps large, definitely not X-large or jumbo) and a 3 inch by 3 inch piece of salmon separated by a glob of mashed potatoes. The lemon-butter sauce served with the scampi and salmon was tasteless. I have had far better meals at Red Lobster - another restaurant that I am not particularly fond of - but it's better than this place! My advice --order the cheesecake, but eat dinner elsewhere. I will NEVER revisit this restaurant.

My husband and I first discovered The Cheesecake Factory when we were visiting Las Vegas. We are both cheesecake lovers and stopped there one day for dessert. We have been hooked ever since and were thrilled when we moved to Houston and learned that they have a couple of locations. The one that we have visited most often is the location at the Galleria Mall.
The Cheesecake Factory has a pretty extensive menu offering everything from appetizers to sandwiches, pasta, and even steaks. Although the servings for their meal items are generous, the food isn't all that great, especially considering the prices (the least expensive items are $10.95). If you eat, you probably won't have room for the most important part, which is the cheesecake! If you are going to try a meal, I recommend that you plan on sharing with someone so that you have room for dessert. Another option is to take the dessert "to go" (you can do this with anything on their menu, as well).
They offer over 50 different varieties of cheese cake, and the prices range from $5-7 per slice. It is worth every penny in my opinion. My favorite is the Brownie Sundae Cheesecake. It comes with a delicious brownie base, and has hot fudge, almonds, whipped cream, and even a cherry on top! My husband loves the Lemon Raspberry Cream Cheesecake. The cheesecake itself has a lemony flavor and then there is a raspberry sauce drizzled over it. This is a great flavor for summer and is very refreshing!
You should know that when you order a piece of cheesecake here, it comes piled with whipped cream. I never end up eating this because I think it just takes away from the cheesecake (and I don't need the extra calories). I know that it's all about the presentation and it does look very nice, but I would recommend asking them to leave it off (unless you're a huge whipped cream fan!).
Depending on the time of day, you may have to wait awhile to be seated. The decor in the restaurant is very nice and creates and atmosphere that is warm and inviting. This is a nice place to meet friends for lunch, nice enough for a "date", or a fun place to have dessert.
