Amazing chinese cuisine. Usually around $10-20 per entree but it is so worth it. My fav is the sesame chicken! amazing service as well.

My boyfriend and I went to join his family for a nice meal. Once we drove up we were questioning if we would be able to actually park and get it; we were glad we did. After waiting for a little bit (we did have a party of 8) we were seated with a pleasant and competent server. They made sure all our needs were attended to. We did the food family style of course. I feel in love with their chicken lettuce wraps. Next time I want to try to vegetarian once. The rest of the table raved about the prawns which I was not bold enough to try. Since there were two birthdays at the table we did get dessert. The cheesecake & the chocolate dome were amazing. You can easily go there on a date or as a family. There is a bar with an extensive menu.
The only thing that I wonder about was the extensiveness of their food menu; sometimes you have to question places that try to cook too many dishes, but it seems they nailed every one... at leaset the ones we ordered.

Pros: Taste. Quality. Visual appeal. Service.

Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it.

I love, love, love the sear ahi tuna is amazing. The texture is perfect, the taste of the sauce is awesome and the bed of vegie it rests upon is crisp and fresh. I really do enjoy it and although they are pricey for every day dining it is a wonderful treat from time to time.

Over crowded and over priced asian restaurant in the Arboretum. Try Manuels or Fire Bowl across the street instead.

I've been to a few PF Chang's before and liked both the food and experience. I was excited to go based on past experience and reviews. First, I made reservations for a Friday night (early evening). I highly recommend getting your name on a list prior to showing up. There were several people waiting and we walked right in. The service was very good... much better than I anticipated. However, the food was so salty that it was hard to eat. Keep in mind, I've been to others so the recipe calls for much more salt or MSG than needed. I was literally swelling in my fingers from too much salt or MSG. It was a disappointing since there are not many good Chinese food places in Austin.

PF Changs doesn't deny that is is non traditional Chinese food - a little fusion, a lot of USA influence (as seen by the huge amounts of meat in the food). But you know what, it's good. They dishes are great, the speacial sauces is good and service is typically very friendly too.
I love the orange peel beef and although I hate eggplant, really enjoy how they serve it. Also good is Changs chicken, green bean chicken with black bean sauce...and many others.

The teas a great, drink usually a bit pricey but good too. With so many bad Chinese places in Austin, we find ourselves coming back here more and more.

My wife and I really enjoyed our trip to pf chang when we went a week ago. The decor is great, and the service quick, but it took 45 minutes to get seated. Also, for the portion size that we received, the price of the food was high. I would recommend to anyone who hasn't been before, and we will definitely return.

My girlfriend and I usually go out to eat at least once a week with usual trips to Outback, TGI Fridays, Chuys, Chilis, and the ocassional Cheesecake Factory and Olive Garden, but last night (11/28/06) we wanted to try something different. P.F. Chang's offered such an outlet and although I'm not usually a fan of authentic asian cuisine, basically because I get bad reactions to it, the experience last night was really good. We were seated promptly without having a reservation, the drinks we ordered (the Orient Express and Jade Martinis) went down like candy, the pan-fried peking dumplings served with a house, almost-broth-like soy sauce for the appetizer were great and addictive, although they should offer more per plate (4 for $5.25 which is a little steep), and our entrees, albeit nothing special and could have been ordered for five dollars less at your local mall's food court, were tasteful and filling, but lets not forget about the dessert! At the table across from us was a group of 8 women celebrating one of their friend's birthdays...they brought out these huge pieces of chocolate cake and we knew we had to have it....we certainly were not disappointed, this thing was pretty monstrous even for two people and required a doggy bag. The atmosphere is lively and bustly without the true asian restaurant feel which can make you feel guilty for talking louder and the waitstaff is professional and friendly. Truly a nice place to take a date provided you're willing to spend a little more than what you're acustomed too for asian cuisine.

I go to PF Chang's like once a week. Once you've tried most of their entrees I only go in for cravings. I love their mango tea, crab wantons, lettuce wraps and hot and sour soup. So really, I often go just to get appetizers. My only complaint is their desserts are not worth the price...nowhere near... I usually head over to Bennigans for dessert afterwards... its the same quality for cheaper.

This location has chef Sandra (?) who opens like 70% of PF Changs nationwide... so if you like seafood ask for the chef's special. It's delicious... one plate servers 2 very well. Oh and for the love of anything, make reservations on the weekends.

The food was absolutely horrible and the Cantonese Scallops literally had no flavor whatsoever - not even salt and pepper for seasoning. Even for any restaurant, this one is horrible. If you are going for uspcale, this place is upscale, but don't expect any good food. This is coming from an Asian that knows what Chinese food should taste like.

My apologies go out to food snobs everywhere, but I really enjoyed my experience at PF Chang's. Yeah, it's a chain, maybe it's Americanized, but the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is upbeat and fun. In comparison with other Chinese food establishments in town it's a little pricey, but Chang's is pretty economical when considered alongside some of Austin's other "upscale" establishments. If you haven't been to PF Chang's, check them out...you'll like them, but I definitely recommend making a reservation!

                              Pros: Atmosphere, Tasty Dishes, Price

                              Cons: Parking, Waiting

i agree w/ some of the reviewers on here that pf chang is overrated. i wouldn't say they're food is gross but there's nothing superb about it. the only thing i had a problem was when i got my food it looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for an hour oh and if your going to order the mango chicken i suggest not to. the chicken had no taste and they used canned mango and poured the syrup all over the chicken so all you tasted was the mango syrup...and that entree alone cost about 12 bucks...not worth it...but i did like their asparagus....and if your going to go there i suggest you order some veggies because the entrees doesn't really have any and if there's a long wait the best thing to do is leave because there's no point in waiting 2 hrs for mediocre food

I love P.F. Changs! Once I ate there, there was no turning back. In austin I used to eat at wanfu's but once I had the food at P.F Changs it doesn't compare . It is a little more pricy than other places but the few extra dollars are so worth it! You have to get the lettuce wraps (their specialty) and I love their shanghai street dumplings! It has nice mood lighting for a romantic dinner out - and every waiter I have had there has been great!

PF Chang's is one of the most overrated restaurant chains in the country. Please, if you want westernized Chinese food, stop by the chinese restaurant tucked in whatever shopping plaza is nearest you rather than coming to this overpriced, loud, and very crowded travesty of a restaurant . The food will taste the same, if not better, and you will save so much money and time. Every weekend this place is crawling with people clamoring to get in to consume "chinese" food that is not only disappointing, but offensive to the moniker. For me, this place is infamous for its mediocrity. If you want to experience wonderful chinese food, go to Din Ho Barbecue. It will redefine what chinese food should taste like and the place is constantly brimming over with a predominantly Asian clientele that keeps coming back for chinese food as it was meant to taste, unbastardized.

                              Pros: none, none, none

Cons: Expensive, Crowded, Food is mediocre

P.F. Chang's is a chain, but in spite of that, it's well worth a visit. The food is superb, and they have numerous outstanding dishes that you probably won't find at a standard Chinese restaurant. The waitstaff is helpful and knowledgeable- you'd do well to ask them for some recommendations that you might not normally try.

The downsides? It's always crowded, and they don't take reservations, so you're liable to wait a long time for a table. It's also very noisy, not the kind of place to have a conversation or a romantic dinner. And, frankly, it's on the expensive side if you're dining with just 1 or 2 other people. On the other hand, if you eat with a large party, it works out quite economically.

Shirmp dumpling was decent, but could do little more work on the skin. Kung-pao chicken were alright as well. Service was good, but I still think it was over priced.

AMAZINGLY tasteless. Even the flagrant Orientalism I could overlook if the food were somehow 'good'. They always come up and ask you, 'Have you been here before?' No, is there an initiation rite? 'How hot would you like your sauce?' What? For what? I haven't even ordered...Umm, hot, I guess. And they proceed ever so exactly and professionally to mix mustard with chili paste. Right in front of you. Like it's a show. And so it is. And those who are so inclined may pour their Idiot Sauce right over the endless buckets of rice they serve you. In other words, go to Tienhong or Dinho if you want 'more authentic' Chinese. Oh, and they mischarged us $40 something for a meal that was $20 something.

P.F. CHANG'S IS EXCELLENT! THEY HAVE EXCELLENT FOOD FOR NOT BEING A REAL ASIAN RESTAURANT. I LOVE THEIR CHANG'S SPICY CHICKEN. ME AND MY WIFE EAT THERE PRETTY OFTEN. THE ONLY BAD THING IS THE WAIT. BE PREPARED FOR A LONG WAIT EVEN WITH A RESERVATION.

This is not your 'traditional' Chinese food restaurant, so don't go in there thinking about all the OTHER types of Chinese food you've had before & how they'll compare - they are very different in taste, but VERY tasty. They offer a flavor for 'Chinese' food that I've not found anywhere else. A little overpriced, but generally good food.

Personally I think that the P.F. Chang's Downtown location at 201 San Jacinto is far better than the Jollyville location in terms of service, organization of the host staff, and overall atmosphere. Parking is never a problem because of the great valet service that is offered, and you are just blocks away from the many music and bar venues that Austin has to offer.

Chang's is a gourmet's delight without the ubiquitous chinese buffet table with lukewarm eggrolls and noodles . . . everything is served freash to your table. Make sure you try the lettuce rolls that combine the coolness of veggies and the warmth of a chicken/water chestnut mix . . . yummy!

                              Message from P.F. Chang's

P.F. Chang’s is a restaurant concept that honors the 2,000-year-old Asian tradition of wok cooking and believes in making food from scratch every day in every restaurant. With a Farm to Wok food philosophy at its core, P.F. Chang’s chefs hand-roll dim sum, hand chop and slice all vegetables and meats, handcraft every sauce and wok-cook each recipe, every day in every restaurant using fresh ingredients.

With roots in Chinese cooking, the culinary landscape at P.F. Chang’s now stretches across Asia with diverse, culturally inspired recipes including hand-rolled sushi, Vietnamese-style soups and bowls, traditional Chinese dim sum, wok-fired chicken and beef entrees, and family style noodles and rice. All made from scratch every day.
