I would not recommend Kelly Services, especially during this recession. Not because there is anything wrong with the agency or its employees, but because the companies that use its services have two objectives - to get you in and out the door as quickly as possible and to screw the agency out of its money by shortening a contract. Run out of work and you're fired - and they lie about your performance to Kelly in order to keep from paying the fee. I found out about this tactic first hand. After leaving the agency, I found work on my own without going through this again..

If you're looking for a desk-related administrative type job, kelly services is the place to go. They make you come in to test you out on your words per minute and test you out on your microsoft office skills. Afterwards, they find whats more appropriate for your level of skill and expertise and you do some temporary work to see if you can handle it. After completing a few easy temp jobs, you'll be able to get a more stable one. If you were to get paid 15 bucks an hour by the employer, then kelly services would get a buck or 2 an hour for every hour you work so you get paid around 13-14 bucks out of your 15.

If you are looking for an administrative job, they have plenty of openings and options. If you are an engineer and do not want to commute to North Dallas from Fort Worth, they have few options for you. For technical job leads, a technical recruiting firm will be of more assistance.
PROS: effort, leads
CONS: not good for technical or scientific job seekers
