Genroku Japanese Restaurant

My girlfriend and I ate here on a Friday night. We finally found the place after a few minutes of driving around since the lights are out in their sign. In short the sushi was WARM and did not taste fresh. We also ordered a side of spring rolls and were met with an over-fried eggroll... Seriously when did a spring roll become a fried crouton? The service wasn't too impressive. The woman who served us didn't look clean and was in a hurry. I noticed that a majority of the clientele were of Asian decent. They were not ordering sushi, but rather the Taiwanese cuisine of the establishment. Perhaps this is their forte and not the sushi? Who knows? I will say that I will not be returning simply because I spent $66 for 3 orders of WARM nasty rolls and 2 orders of WARM nasty sashimi. The iced tea wasn't too bad though. Save your money and try another place. Most of the people who eat here looked like relatives or friends (Asians). I think we were the only white people. I love Asian people, but they didn't seem too friendly. Also, I asked to use the restroom and their soap dispenser doesn't work. My girlfriend is on the toilet right now as I write this to you. She is sick from eating at this place. This is a real review and dont say I didnt warn you. Peace out!

Yes, you heard it right. The sushi is low quality but cheap. Their chinese food is very good thou. It is a bit pricy (and the food comes in a small quanity). Nevertheless, it tasts great!

PROS: Good taste
CONS: expensive, small amount of food.

Genroku is probably one of the best hole-in-the wall sushi places in dallas. The fish is great, the atmosphere is very relaxed (you wont find suits there much), and its in a great location if you work along the telecom corridor. They also have excellent bento.

PROS: Relaxed, Excellent fish

If you want cheap sushi, this is the place. The sushi chef is a Chinese guy, he speaks English to his customers. They have a pretty good selection, but their sushi grade fish is not that great. But like I said, if you want cheap sushi, and don't mind the quality, go here. They actually have pretty good Chinese food and their Teriyaki is not bad either. If you want good food from Genroku, I'd recommend getting their Chinese food instead of their sushi.
