DON'T GO!!!

by Terri F.

We had a horrible experience with our 12 year old pug. He started itching, and his skin was getting irritated and was bleeding. I took him to VCA Lindley, the staff was very friendly and so were the doctors and nurses. The problem is the obvious incompetence! They never did bloodwork, they never did a skin scraping. They gave him a cortisone shot which made the problem worse, then a second shot, and then cortisone pills. My poor dog got so sick I thought we were going to have to put him down. Finally, after about $1000, Dr. Lindley told me to change his diet and feed him buttermilk. WHAT! I took him to a different vet for a second opinion - they did bloodwork and did a skin test. In about an hour, we found out he had a thyroid problem which lowered his immune system which enabled him to get mites. We had spent 3 months at Lindley with the doctors acting confused as to what was happening to my dog. Apparently, this was fairly common with older dogs. Why hadn't the doctors at Lindley thought of this? This all happened about a year ago, and the only reason I'm writing this now is because I received a call from the front desk at Lindley asking if my pet's vaccines were current because I had not brought them in for their yearly shots. I explained to her we were seeing a new vet. She politely asked why, I politely explained to her why. She then apologized, but what really got me was that she didn't sound surprised. It was as if I was another ex-"patient" with the same problem with the doctors! My pug is now great! His thyroid problem is under control, and the mites were gone in 5 weeks of therapy.....and my dog LOVES his new doctor!

From Avid Animal Lovers...

by Chris G.

We have one cat and two dogs that we have been taking to Dr. Lindley for almost two years. The staff is quick and friendly. Dr. Lindley has a lot of experience with dogs and cats and it shows. He is very gentle, and good at working with the animals. He has handled all kinds of problems for us such as our dogs swallowing items that they should not have, sprained muscles, spaying of our dog and cat, heartworm medication, etc. and is always available for consultation. We have been to many other local vetrinarians but have not found anyone that we trust as much as Dr. Lindley to our well pampered, part-of-the-family animals.

BEWARE: If you want your pet to live, don't go here!

by Shelley D.

As the saying goes..."you get what you pay for". They may be a low cost vet. clinic, but if you intend on having your loving pet survive their "incompetence," then you should avoid this clinic even if it is at a higher cost with someone else. I had a cat that was going there for an illness for 6 months and died because of a bladder infection that eventually turned into a blockage. The "doctor" never did a "urinalysis" which is a standard test for any animal that appears ill. My cat was taken up there 10 times and the "doctor" never addressed his illness as needing emergency treatment. My cat died just 2 days after we finally got a diagnosis. He didn;t have a chance...

Professional and thorough, but beware the fleas

by Brandy R. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,544

I took two cats to this facility. The wait was short and the staff was very thorough. The attitude at the facility is that no expense should be spared when it comes to your pets. Unfortunately, I took healthy cats. After leaving, they both ended up with fleas and one ended up with worms from the fleas. So, I ended up having to spend even more in vet bills to address the issue.

PROS: Professional, short wait, very detailed and thorough care
CONS: Fleas present in the waiting room

Taking Care of Your Pets

by Angie B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,556

Here is another place for your pets. When we first got our cat, we took her here to get her shots and to get her spayed. They were great with her and I think she felt comfortable here.
