Halepaska's Bakery

Halepaska's is a dieters worst nightmare. The cakes are awesome and very reasonably priced. When I was in college my reward after every final was a Coca-cola cake. They are rich and fudgy and full of pecans. Now that I am grown and married I still drive 65 miles one way to get my daughters birthday cakes every year. Not only are they the cutest cakes, I am always pleasently shocked at the prices. This place just can't be beat.

If you have never been to Halepaskas Bakery you have no clue what you're missing. They have absolutely delicious desserts and really great lunch specials. Perhaps it's because I went to the same high school as some Halepaska family members but they really do have wonderful cakes. My friend always got the CocaCola cake for his birthday. It was sooooo yummy. They don't have just chocolate, vanilla or german chocolate. There are so many different choices for you to whet your pallate. Anytime I go in there I act like I'm a kid again. I'm 23 years old and I still get so excited about going in there. hehehe If you've never had Halepaskas, it's not too late to try it. If you've been before, it's been too long since you were last there. :)

PROS: Delicious, good price, wide variety of desserts and lunch specials
CONS: I only get it when I go back in town since I'm in San Antonio now
