This restaurant is our all time favorite. Thanks to Blue Fish my husband is now just as addicted to sushi as I am. I recommend the Ahi Tower. It's both beautiful to look at and a tasty surprise. The wait staff will deconstruct it for you and might even form it into the shape of a star fish if you're lucky. Couldn't ask for more!

I'm not a big sushi fan, but my fiance is and he loved it. I just had standard fare, but it was really good. Also, awesome patio! Just off lower Greenville, great place to start the weekend happy hour and a little sustanence.

You can't beat Blue Fish for sushi. However, the Greenville Ave location suffers a tad in comparison to its brethren on the Tollway and in Las Colinas.

This restaurant has great sushi and miso soup. The atmosphere is fun and lively. Their sushi roll choices are plentiful and great. Appetizers and drinks are best here.

Great Sushi!
by TripJack
Probably the most comfortable restaurant i have eaten at in a long time. The service was great and the sushi even better. If i can recommend anything it would be the ahi tower. I've eaten it at other places before but this has to be hands down the best tower ive ever had. There wasnt any wait the time i went but it was very busy in the patio. The first sushi restaurants ive been to since getting to dallas were all in downtown and was a bit stuffy for my tastes so this was a refreshing experience for me and my friends. I highly recommend this place to everyone.
Pros: Ahi Tower

Great food and atmosphere
by ItaStallion83
I've been going to blue fish for years now and am sooO happy they havent changed $1 sake night. Not that i wouldnt mind paying 2 or 3 dollars for it; which would still be a great deal but you really cant beat 1 dollar for sake.
I usually dont write reviews and generally think only self-important egotistical people with 2 much time write these reviews but here i am!!! FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING!! NOW I CAN BE FAMOUS!
Pros: $1 sake thursdays!!!
Cons: tables small

Probably good in the past..
by ccorcoran
MY husband and I went last night for the first time and it was sub-par. I had the spicy tuna roll, avacodo roll, and calamari roll. The spicy tuna was not very spicy. I had to spcie it up with additonal spicy mayo. The avocado in the avocado roll was brown, not appealing at all. The calamari roll was the best of the bunch but it too was just average. The sushi rice was not flavorful. The best part of the meal was the apple martini. We will not be back and do not recommed this place. They were not very busy and we waited a long time for the server to come pick up our check and bring it back.
Pros: Parking was easy
Cons: Food

Okay, but...
by sushiiii
While the Blue Fish has a good selection of sushi rolls there could be some work done to better the sanitary habits of the people that work there...often times I sat at the sushi bar only to see the chefs bend down below the sushi bar and sneeze coming up to handle the fish/rice without washing their hands...another thing was the fact that while we were dining one of the chefs was torching flies throughout the night. The chefs now don't speak very good english but were friendly, the two that did I believe are working elsewhere...
The environment is a little loud at times but that's because of the fact that they are usually packed inside...outside in the patio is a little better but can still be noisy at times due to the traffic outside...
The Ahi Tower is an excellent choice, a unique blend of textures and flavors...Lava roll, Sundae roll and Tiger's Eye are among some of our favorites...
Overall a good experience, not the best Dallas has to offer though

Great Sushi!!
by bsiu99
My fiance and I are frequent visitors to Dallas and we try a new Restaurant each time. We usually choose based on reviews on CitySearch. So tonight we tried Blue Fish for the first time and it was delicious. We tried the Ahi Tower since it was mentioned so often in the other reviews and it was AWESOME!! My fiance inhaled half of it before he realized what was going on. We also loved the spider roll which is one of our favorites and it was great.
We sat at the sushi bar so I can't say anything about the wait staff. Our waiter wasn't very knowledgable about wines but he was very good about clearing plates and keeping our drinks filled. The sushi chef was very friendly. Since it's in Greenville, we used the free valet parking which was a great perk - just note that the service is in front of the steakhouse attached to Blue Fish. They use the same valet service...

BEYOND SUSHI!
by martypp
With awards for The Met, D-Magazine, The Observer and Citysearch ( to name a few) I figured we pretty much could not go wrong with this sushi location. What we found was far BEYOND SUSHI! This sushi restaurant was amazing. The service superb and the freshness of the sashimi and sushi was just the start of this sushi adventure. We started with an appetizer of crab claws. These are fresh large claws with a light batter and stuffed. Wow! We then moved on to the Ahi tower ( once again fresh fresh fresh) this was a combination of Fresh tuna tarter based sesame oil over snow crab avocado salad, bedded on a sushi rice with a creamy wasabi sauce,,,,,,,, excellent! For the caviar lover we had the bluefish trio next, with fresh snapper, Scottish salmon and ahi tuna topped with various colors of the caviar family. Sauteed jumbo Scallops were next! WOW! These were lightly pan seared HUGE scallops, with a jalapeno sauce that was not too spicy and full of flavor ( if you are a scallop lover , do not walk, run to this location) I almost forgot the combo sushi plate and the black cod appetizer ( wow we ate a lot of sushi here) We finished off with the berry tower on advice from another Citysearch review, they were right! I would come back just for the dessert! Really, if you love sushi and you love fresh sushi, and you love great service and fantastic desserts, go to Bluefish now! Where sushi is not just sushi anymore???.the most fantastic, BEYOND SUSHI EXPERIENCE I have ever had!
Pros: REALLY, JUST GO, ITS A FANTASTIC PLACE ALL AROUND
Cons: NONE

The freshest sushi in Dallas!
by wendyyork
Wow! I went here for the first time and I must say I would come back just for the dessert! They have fantastic sushi dishes like the sunday roll and the tuna tower but more than sushi is why I wouldreccommended coming here! When you arrive it is modern and cool inside with tin walls and 14 foot ceilings with flat screens everywhere. The waitress was very helpful with her suggestions and reccommendations for the two of us ( one sushi lover and one not so much :) ) They start you out with a hot towel at the table then on to the courses... the crab claw appitizers were not only interesting but extreamly fresh! The display of seaweed shavings and sauces was artful and tasty! The main course of tuna was amazing and the dessert out of this world! The dessert was layers of fried won tons with custard, berries ( strawberries, blue berries and rasberries, on a ice cream base and layered 4 high. An absolute amazing dessert! You HAVE GOT TO TRY THIS! It's called a berry tower! So.... guess who was the non sushi person ? :) Yup, but I will tell you right now, I would gofor the dessert and stay fior the sushi, so a top top review from a non sushi lover...converted. ;)
Pros: great value, sushi and yummmmm desserts!

Don't eat here...
by HorrifiedCustomer1
Visited this restaurant on 7/08, for lunch with some coworkers. We paid our ticket and realized when we walked out the manager was right behind us watching as we got into our car. We drove up and asked if we had left something in the restaurant since he was Cleary standing outside and staring at us. He then states, "YES! A better tip would have been nice"!!!! We could not believe it...we asked if he had the correct table and he then yelled, "YES!!!!!" And started to name off what we ordered and the tips we left. He was Cleary irate and antagonizing. He yelled and used foul language and we were shocked at the way this man acted. He told us that he was the General Manager and that we were not welcomed to come back to the location and we then told him that we did not plan on returning because of his attitude and vulgar behavior.

Great food.....Horrible service
by mksimms
Best sushi ever....it 's incredible!!!! BUT, the service is insanely horrible. (MacArthur location) Even getting a glass of water was impossible, the white wine was not chilled and worse, served in glasses obviously fresh out of the dishwasher..HOT! Maybe it was just this one location, bad day and young immature staff, but even with a small comment to manager the service remained bad. The food was incredible but it does not make up for insanely bad service.
Pros: Food
Cons: Service

awesome sushi!
by sooner83
I have eaten Sushi all over the world-- it is by far my favorite food and Blue Fish is top notch. The best part about the place is that you can bring non-sushi loving friends along with you and they will have plenty of things they can eat off of the menu. My favorite things off of the menu are the cherry roll (you cannot come here without ordering this!) and their is a fried crab appetizer with sort of a salad on top that is to die for. It sounds weird but it is great. Yes. . . you might have to wait a while for your sushi (but this isn't really a place to go if you are in a rush, the atmosphere is great so enjoy it). And it is a little loud. If noise bothers you their patio area is great and is much quieter. Bluefish will not disappoint!
Pros: amazing food and sushi
Cons: expensive, can be a bit loud on weekends

Best sushi in Dallas?? get real!!!
by jimmyjoe
Whoever is saying this is the best sushi restaurant in town, does not eat very much sushi. The freshness of the fish in this establishment does not compare to the best ones in town. Yes, this restaurant is very hip and is always packed on weekends but the quality of the fish does not compare to Sushi Sake, Yutaka, Tei Tei or Seabose. Its not even close.
Pros: the crowd and flavored sake
Cons: the sushi

Best Sushi in Dallas?
by prestonandwendy
Blue Fish has three locations. One in lower Greenville, one on Dallas Parkway and one in Las Colinas. The host greeted us and we were seated pretty promptly. We ordered the Yellowtail Heaven, the Toro(fatty tuna) handrolls, the Julie rolls, the Sundae rolls, and many more rolls and sushi than I can remember. Everything was delicious! The two dishes that stood out the most for me was the Volcano rolls, which are california rolls covered in a cheese sauce with scallops. SO DELICIOUS! The other dish that we just loved was the Sundae roll. Crunchy tempura on the inside makes this roll a bit unique in texture and great in flavor. You have to wait a bit for your sushi to arrive, but that's perfectly understandable since they make everything RIGHT when you order it and they try to bring it all out all at once for you so you're not waiting in between dishes. While you wait, you can try the Sake Sampler, which is a box of ice that chills four different types of sake. Our favorite was the Pearl Sake, which looks kind of questionable because it's white and cloudy, but it's pleasantly sweet and not overpowering like typical sake. Overall, the service was pretty good and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. We went during a weekday and it wasn't busy at all, although I'm sure during the weekend, it's a different story. We loved everything we ate but almost went into cardiac arrest when we saw the bill. $219 for the four of us. That's a lot, but you know what? I'm definitely going back cause the food is worth it. Now, I haven't tried Nobu yet, which I hear is the "best" sushi ever, but I heard my friend and his wife spent $250 on just the two of them. If you ask me, Blue Fish is as good as it gets for me

Good Sushi, great place!

One of the better Sushi joints in town! I like the one in Las Colinas best, but either one is a great dining experience.
Pros: Always fresh
Cons: None

Good sushi but SLOW & mediocre service
by leahcarp
Good medium-priced sushi place, atmosphere is great, but service is incredibly slow and sometimes unfriendly. It's not Steel or Nobu, but it is good, consistent sushi for the price.

The name should be "Best Fish"
by _jm_
By far the best sushi. Bacause of Blue Fish I have stopped being as adventurous or diverse in my eateries. At one point I tried a couple of places and left unhappy feeling ripped off. Not anymore, I only go to Blue Fish, typically get the spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll, VOLCANO ROLL! (the bizz'omb), spider roll, and the eel roll coming out roughly around $40-50 & I leave feeling sooo stuffed. The staff, service, and management are great. The inside of the place is neat, semi-romantic, kind of loud. The only drawback is the parking and greenville ave. can be a pain, especially if your hungry and it's the weekend...but if greenville gets you down, goto Frankford & the Tollway for another Blue Fish, you can never travel to far for some good sushi.
Pros: Food, Service, Food
Cons: Parking, Greenville Ave.

Great food! Crazy crowd.
by coup36
If you want the best sushi in Dallas this is the spot. With your amazaing food you will have to stomach the trendy Dallas crowd. It's tough, but well worth it.
Pros: It's all about the food. The best in Texas!
Cons: SMU debs, bleached hair, muscle shirts and all the latest plastic surgery.

Great for a night out with friends
by swizoop
I went with a group of 8 friends and we had a blast. The sushi was great, we liked their variations. The mixed drinks were great and the service was good for how crowded the place was (make reservations).
Great place for a birthday party or date. I didn't try anything besides the sushi so I can't speak for those dishes...
Cons: Loud

What happened?!?
by mellowd
This place used to be the coolest sushi place to be a few years back. What happened? I moved away and came back, then I ate here just a couple of weeks ago and it sucked. The fish wasn't fresh, the rolls were boring, the trio sashimi appetizer was overspiced, and the service took forever when it wasn't even crowded. At least it's in a great location, but I'm not coming back here for sushi!
Pros: Location, Location, Location
Cons: Sushi Not Fresh, Service Slow, Boring Sushi Rolls
