Bump Melissa Dvm - Kingdom Animal Hospital

I have 15 animals and all go to Kingdom Hospital...the staff and Dr. Lara, Dr. Knight, and Dr. Bump have always gone above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Knight consistently responds to after hour calls and is incredibly devoted and compassionate about animals. You can tell he truly loves animals. The prices at Kingdom are fairer than anywhere else in town, and the compassion of the staff and doctors you will not find anywhere else. When I brought in a stray dog who had been hit by a car, back legs/hips crippled, and near death, Dr. Knight saved and staff saved his life. Dr. Lara and Dr. Knight were able to pin his legs and the staff and Dr. Bump and the staff took extraordinary care of him for the weeks he was at clinic. I was able to visit him in the back anytime, and the place was clean and everyone so caring about the dog, they gave him bones and hand fed him till he felt comfortable around people. He is now a healthy member of our family. I cannot tell you how many times myself and my friends have called Dr. Knight at odd hours of the night or during day for help, and he has responded. A little known fact is that many of the doctors and staff at this clinic give money out of their own pocket and give of their time improving the lives of animals. There is always one or two "house" cat or dog or rat or snake at the clinic that is being "fostered" pro bono that other clinics would turn away because of no payment, but not Kingdom. I highly recommend this clinic and have never met a harder working, more caring, and smarter group of professionals anywhere.

Before deciding to acquire, breed and show French Bulldogs, I did extensive research into the breed and health care. After interviewing several vets and their clinics/hospitals, I decided to go with Kingdom Animal Hospital. They had the most experienced vets and were reasonable in their pricing. Having alot of experience in raising and showing other animals, including National Champion Miniature Donkeys, I knew that a great relationship with my vet was of great importance. From the very beginning of my relationship with Kingdom Animal Hospital, I have NEVER been disappointed. The staff at Kingdom Animal Hospital are professional and very easy to deal with. The Vets are great, not only with reproductive issues, but in general vet care. They have always exceeded my expectations, especially Dr. Knight. During the recent death of my mother, he took a pregnant female frenchie home with him so that he could watch her for me so that I could tend to my mothers funeral plans. I am so grateful to him and all of the staff at Kingdom. I have seen other reviews posted regarding Kingdom Animal Hospital and some of them are negative reviews. I do not know what happened in these cases, but I can say from personal experience that I 100% recommend Kingdom Animal Hospital for any of your animal needs. I have been going to Kingdom Animal Veterinarian Clinic & Hospital on Villa Marie since I moved to Bryan in 2002. My experience at this clinic has never been anything other than professional with all of my cats and dog. The staff is wonderful, as is Dr.'s Laura and Bump. Our families personal favorite veterinarian would be Powell Knight, whom I highly recommend to anyone who wants and needs a veterinarian who really cares. In times of crisis, he has come to our aid and been there no matter what the situation, day or night.My family and animals thank the staff and Dr. Knight with all our hearts. There must be an alternate, and opposite, reality! After reading other reviews, I cannot believe some of the comments refer to the same clinic we have been going to for 15 years.

Over the years we have had two dogs and five cats cared for by each of the vets there. All personnel consistently have been courteous, professional, and especially caring when nursing our animals through serious illnesses. I've never seen the clinic, even the back rooms, less than neat and clean. We regularly receive postcard reminders of vaccination needs. Proposed procedures and health status of our animals have always been carefully and thoroughly explained. Our questions have been patiently answered and we have received follow-up calls to see how an animal is doing, with instructions to call anytime if needed.

I'm surprised and sorry if others may not had good experiences, but ours have been outstanding and we could not imagine a better veterinarian practice!

On a visit to Bryan, we adopted a dog from Kingdom Animal Hospital. When we moved here 6 years ago, it was only natural we would use them for Veterinary care. This Clinic is amazing with a professional, friendly, competent staff. When vaccinations and dental work came due, we received a post card notifying us. When we asked, we were guided through the maze of monthly maintenance products (heart worm, flea & tick prevention), comparisons and benefits of each. The Vets are very thorough in reaching their diagnosis and helping manage whatever condition, be it skin problems, food issues or ailments. When they diagnosed our little dog with congestive heart failure,they did not hesitate to ask us if we would like a referral to a canine cardiologist.We did take them up on it, and the diagnosis, treatment recommendation and end result was the same.The Vets at Kingdom helped us manage her condition with care and compassion. Dr. Bump was our primary Vet, however, Dr. Knight and Dr. Lara never failed us when we had emergencies.When special services were required for our little dog they never failed to get that taken care immediately. Our little dog lost her battle and everyone was so kind and helpful. We now have a new little guy. He has been introduced to the staff at Kingdom Animal Hospital and we will continue to get the same excellent care we expect for our pet. We highly recommend Kingdom Animal Hospital for all Veterinary needs. We also board our dog there, as we feel more comfortable doing so.

I needed a new vet when I moved to BCS and for some reason chose this place. I have seen two vets there and one is just as bad as the other. One guy told me my puppy has a chronic ear problem and that he would need medicine for the rest of his life and that they conveniently sell this medicine. When I brought my two dogs there because of diarrhea, the female vet was sooooo terrible. She didnt tell what was wrong with them and insinuated that I was a bad pet owner because my boxer had a few scrapes from the dog park. She was also so condescending and made me feel like an idiot for not knowing everything there is to know about veterinarian medicine, heaven forbid I ask a few questions. I guess my college education is not enough for her. She also told me that my puppy probably had a fatal condition and just left the room with that. I later took him to TWO different vets that shot down this notion immediately; they also BOTH said he did not have any ear problems as the other vet said. If you ask me these people are running SCAMS out of this facility. Oh yeah they treated a friends dog with heartworms when the test came back negative and charged him hundreds of dollars!!! Trust me when I say any veterinarian clinic is better than this one!!!

I have taken my dog to kingdom animal hospital since he was a puppy just because I knew a girl who worked there, regardless of that, this is probably the most unprofessional staff and unorganized place I've ever been. The place never looks clean, and is always dirty. Since I'm not a Dr. I assumed that they would keep in contact with me and couch me along in scheduling the vaccines and check ups my dog would need since he is my first pet but of course they didn't and my dog ended up getting parvo. When i went to go check up on him to see how he was doing while he was getting treatment i was shocked to find my dog shoved in a tiny kennel in a disgusting dirty closet. Needless to say I would NEVER bring my dog back to this place because its so horrible!

I have been bringing my pets to Kingdom for over 15 years. The doctors there are caring and always willing to take time to explain everything that I need to know to better care for my pets. The staff is always so helpful and willing to answer all my questions also. I would and have recommend them to all my family and friends.

If you're looking for a premium standard of care, don't expect to get it at kingdom animal hospital. If you're more concerned about cutting costs and are willing to sacrifice quality of care... then Kingdom animal hospital might be good for you.

They do not take good history's for patients. I have dropped animals off there several times, and have no been questioned on animal history or given a patient questionaire about history. Anesthesia was essentially performed without knowing what risks my dog may or may not have had.

Errors have been made on my prescription bottles on a few occasions-- for example, not including the mg/ml strength on a bottle of controlled substance--which is ILLEGAL.

Although we already had two dogs and were completely pleased with previous service from Kingdom Animal Hospital and it's staff, we learned that one of the vets was caring for a dog that someone had abandoned. To complicate matters, the puppy had a nail in one of it's eyes - not sure if the abuse was deliberate or what.

Anyway, Kingdom had been taking care of this delightful puppy and was able to save the eye. The little pup was a sweetheart in every way and captured our hearts from the start. The dog had been cleaned up, spayed, inoculated, and had the eye saved by Dr. Melissa Bump (although she is extremely modest, I would not hesitate in describing her as the best small animal veterinarian in Central Texas.

They gave us the puppy (with all the above treatments already complete) and a starter kit for some token amount (maybe $20.00). They were always happy to answer any questions we might have. We continued to love the dog but, as the weeks went on, she appeared to be losing the ability to walk and was clearly in significant pain. Dr. Bump asked us to bring Belle in and she and the other folks at Kingdom determined that one of the puppy's legs had been broken and never treated. Without surgery, the dog was destined to be a cripple and live in pain.

Kingdom performed the surgery to correct the problem at (honestly) about 1/3 of the fee other vets would charge and continues to help us with every pet health issue that we encounter. They are the friendliest people imaginable!

Today, Belle, is the same lovable little bundle she always has been but, thanks to Kingdom, she is healthy, active, and pain free.

Without any reservation, I would recommend Dr. Bump and Kingdom Animal Hospital to anyone that wants the very best for his or her pet. My sincerest thanks to that group.

my girlfriend and i brought my olde english bulldog here to get his shots as well as a doggy checkup. from the moment we walked through the door until the time we exited every staff member we came into contact with seemed as if someone had left a horrible surprise in their cereal that morning. And, heaven forbid we had a question. The female vet who gave my dog his shots seemed completely detached emotionally from animals all together and even went as far as to imply we hadnt been keeping good enough care of him because he wasnt fixed yet. (he's only 2 and we plan on studding him out) She gave us NO information as to how he's doing health wise not to mention the fact that we had to PRY the results of his heartworm tests out of her. Horrible staff, poor pet concern, all around bad experience. If you have ANY care for your pet in the world you will not choose Kingdom Animal Hospital as your pet care facility.

While on vacation in the Bryan area, our dog developed tape worm. We called our Vet at home, and had a prescription sent to Kingdom. When we arrived, we were made to feel most unwelcome by the veterinarian, who was sitting with the receptionist eating a Big 'N Tasty from McDonalds. When asked about the details of the prescription, his only reply was, "What, are we a pharmacy now?" This rude remark was totally uncalled for, and if we did not need the medicine for our dog, we would have assuredly left. I cannot speak for any other vets at the KAH, but I would urge everyone not to deal with him.

I have seen two of the three vets on two different occasions. Both visits were "squeeze-ins" on busy days. Examinations were extremely thorough and reasonably priced; something I have had trouble finding in the surrounding area.

While it may not look it on the outside, Kingdom Animal Hospital has about the best vets we've ever had. When we had our dog there--they took tremendous care without ripping us off. Even after we moved north--and a year later had a problem, they solved it for us (while the northern vet charged us 700 dollars trying to figure it out) by pinpointing a southern parasite that was causing the problems. No charge! If you move to the area or live there---you MUST try this vet.
