They allowed me to bring my dog in while we waited for the ride home. Had my car ready to go next day, before they had told me and sent some one to pick me up! I will tell every one I know to come here for their maintenance and service needs! Mostly because they were so helpful.
Do not go here for anything major. They??re more expensive then a dealership who has master mechanics trained on you type of car. They require a 41% markup on all repairs. They charge $45 to test a battery that is free from AutoZone. Their policy is to fix one problem at a time meaning?. They provide you with an estimate to repair 1 thing. When that is complete, the car still had problems, they provide you with a 2nd estimate. Progressive problem solving. While working with them for 4 weeks, I personally saw this with 4 clients. Shocking. The clients had thought that City was doing a great job. No!
You should receive a complete report of all problems before starting work. There will be times that something comes up, yet very rare.
In addition, they tried to double charge me for removing an intake. Once for spark plugs, once for a coil. You should only be charged once.
The manager Jeff, though nice guy, is good a selling you. Did you hear that. He's good at making you feel like you're taking care off. But when it comes down to it, if questioned, he gets upset. He like people who do not understand or challenge him. Again, GREAT salesman. My advice, shop around. Let the dealer provide you with a cost, they stand behind their repairs and often cost less.
The dealers offer an upfront cost for ALL repairs. City does a fix one problem at a time.
If anything, take what the dealer advises price shop it. The dealer will work with you.
I wish I did. My $700 repair ended up going over $5,000/ and to top it off, they never test drove the car prior to providing me an estimate of repairs.
I had to pay the dealer $100 - 2 times so they can tell me what City did wrong twice.
Take a looooong look at the guys in the shop. Who actually works on the cars. Go with your gut. and Don't let a nice sales pitch fool you. You should never receive a phone call suggesting additional repairs after the initial estimate. That??s why you pay $100 to ANY SHOP for a diagnostics.
Up to you, I'm only trying to give you a reason to think. Look at all the reviews. Nice guys. Who cares. Quality of work, Honesty, integrity
Beware of the Duncanville location. I went in for a $79 alignment and after diagnosis was told it would be $191. There were no new parts needed, simply an alignment. Firestone did the complete job for $79. Stay away from CIty Garage!

I would not recommend this place! They were extremely rude and unprofessional. First of all, I drive a Chrysler, and when a battery dies in one of them you can't just yank the battery out and go buy a new one. You have to take off the front passenger tire to get to it. I called City Garage (Preston Rd) and got a price quote on how much it would cost to tow my car and for them to check out the battery to see if it was just dead and could be re-charged or if it was gone for good. They told me that it would be $40.00 to just hook up my car and 4 dollars per mile (I live about 1.5 mi away). Once they had towed my car and looked at it I received a phone call from the gentleman telling me that bill was for well over $700.00. I asked him why my bill was so expensive and he started throwing numbers around, one being the tow bill of $90.00. I asked him to speak to my husband and that is when he became very shady. He told us that I needed to replace my key housing unit and that he could only buy a brand new one directly from Chrysler, because evidently, my car key could come out of my ignition at anytime even while driving. We then asked him about the tow bill and I told him I talked to the tow company and they said it would only be $48.00. He began to argue about having to call the tow company and discuss it himself, ??give me fifteen minutes.? After about an hour I finally called him back and he rudely informed me that I was interrupting his phone conversation with the tow company, this was at closing time. I told him that I had already talked to the lady at the tow company and she told me my exact mileage and bill for my car. We asked him to politely leave our car alone and that we would come get it. He began screaming and yelling at us telling us that he didn't do work for free. We told him that we would pay for the tow bill for $48.00 and nothing else, since nothing else had been done. After about ten minutes of him yelling at us, we picked the car up and took it to Chrysler where they determined that the key housing unit was perfectly fine and that I just needed a new battery. He was extremely unprofessional in they way he conducted himself and I would not recommend this place to my worst enemies.

Suspecting a brake fluid leak (I twice filled the brake fluid reservoir in a period of three weeks), I brought my car into the City Garage in Lewisville, TX. They diagnosed a leaking master brake cylinder and a leaking water pump. Both would cost over $1,300 to fix. I said that for a number that high I would need a second opinion. The next day I brought the car into a dealership. Although they charged $45 for their diagnosis, they found nothing whatsoever wrong with the car. I asked them if they checked the master brake cylinder. They said that they had not since getting to it required additional effort (and hence would not be covered by the $45), and that brake fluid would likely not be leaking from the master brake cylinder. That was three weeks ago and I have not had a problem since. I'll be bringing my car to the dealership from now on.

I am a woman and I find many auto repair places seem to talk down to me as if I'm dumb. But these people have always been honest. They even show me the problem and then suggest how it can be fixed, or how long it will last. so I can get my money for the work. I send all my friends here when they have problems

I took my car to this place to have a tune up and they did a 60point check. Found nothing wrong and was very honest with me. The prices were a little high for me, but I would rather someoen be honest with me and charge me a decent price.

City Garage is a great reasonable place to take your car it if it gets sick. They will even call their towing company to come get you if you are stranded and it is included in the bill. They get to your car really quick and never have it over 24hrs. They call you before they replace something and explain to you what is wrong. Prices are cheaper than Firestone for sure.
