Elan Make-Up Studio

I was a bride looking for hair/make-up artists for my portrait and bridal party. I needed services for my 4 maids, 2 mothers, and myself. After searching on the internet, I found the elan studios website but their wedding package information was not available. When I called the studio, the lady who runs the studio (anita), sent me a pdf file of their package prices. I wanted to do their biggest one, which had listed a $795 price. The contents of the package described 2 artists and a few hours. When I went for my consultation, I was informed that if I wanted to have services for everyone in my party, it would have required at least $400 more. Had I known that, I would have gone to elsewhere and not bothered going to the consultation.

Since I was short on time, I went ahead and scheduled a session for my bridal portrait. However, Anita hadn't bothered to actually reserve an artist for me. I was forced to wait 45 minutes in front of the studio for another artist to come on an emergency basis. Luckily, the artists they employ are actually very nice and capable people, I came out looking gorgeous. After my session, I told Anita that her studio has terrible customer service and I was still unhappy that she had misrepresented their prices. When I explained to her that if she wanted my business, she would have to maintain the original price she initially gave me..... Anita just laughed at me.

While the artist who did my hair and make up was a gem, the management does not care about good customer relations and service. These people are not honest about what it really costs to hire them and I do not recommend anyone to transact business with a studio that has displayed heights of arrogance.

PROS: good, capable artists
CONS: not honest about prices
