I love it here. Our family purchased a season pass for $100 for the year which includes parking. May seem a little high at first, but entry for 2 adults plus our children was $25 each time we came. In addition, the season pass includes entry for other family members... a perfect outing when the grandparents come to visit. We come often with blankets and have a picnic while enjoying the relaxing view.
As other people have pointed out, the seasonal offerings are really wonderful. Right now, the Arboretum has a storybook houses exhibit. It is fun to see Alice in Wonderland and Dr. Seuss stories brought to life! One water fountain features frogs sprouting water. The kids can play in this one, so bring along the swimsuit and some dry clothes.
A really great place to spend a day away from video games and TV and enjoy a good old fashioned day in an uncommonly beautiful park.

I attended my friend's wedding at the Arboretum and it rained heavily. There were 8 Brides all stacked up (and fuming) that their day had been ruined. We sat around over 3 hrs before Arboretum staff finally got us into the little chapel room they have. And then we were hustled out. When the Bride and Groom walked out, another wedding party was bringing in their stuff even before the guests could leave.
It's beautiful, but can be a disaster if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Dallas Arboretum is a beautiful place to visit during the spring. They have multiple gardens with different arrangements in each one. During the day they also have an animal petting zoo for the children. You have so many photo opportunities during your walk through the garden. It is nice and clean and parking is plentiful however there is a parking fee.

A few weeks ago, I went to the Dallas Arboretum over the weekend with a group of ladies for the final days of Dallas Blooms, and have to say, this place is gorgeous!
It was the perfect day to walk through all these gardens and water areas - very soothing! There were lots of folks talking photos of their kids or wedding photos. The breeze was blowing - it was SO nice! There are lots of beautiful flowers in bloom and lush grasses swaying in the breeze - and LOTS of trees!
I would encourage you to visit the Dallas Arboretum, take a picnic lunch and take your shoes off and run your toes through the grass. The little prairie-style village is an intersting place to learn about those brave Texas Pioneers too!
PROS: Wonderful place for a picnic
CONS: Can get crowded - bad if you have allergies

The Dallas Botanical Gardens are wonderful and you wouldn't imagine how beautiful they can be in the middle of Dallas. You can't even hear traffic when you are there. Lots of trees and plants from other areas are planted there. Nice place to spend some quiet time. You will see a lot of people there getting pictures done. Easy to find and lots of parking. Nice day trip or a place to hang out for an hour or two.

The Dallas Arboretum is a perfect place for families. Regardless of what season it is, the garden is filled with colorful flowers and trails. There is also an area where children may play in. Although the admission ticket to enter is a bit pricey, the flowers and gardens are completely worth the money that one has to pay to enter. There are always events happening inside the Dallas Arboretum. For example, for Halloween they have Halloween constume contests, games, and a pumpkin field. My first impression of the arboretum was very positive. I loved the vibrant colors. This is also a great place for you if you're interested in volunteering.

The Dallas arboretum is located on White Rock lake. It is a welcome sight of green in the Dallas metroplex area .There are always seasonal celebrations in the arboretum. We spent a perfect fall day picnicking at the arboretum recently and had fun taking pictures in the pumpkin patch. The arboretum has something for everyone in the family and i recommend it for a day's worth of fun.

I went here two times last year! It was a great place to go with a friend or on a date! If the weather is good you can stroll through the gardens and see the most beautiful flowers. They seem to have flowers in bloom most of the year b/c it's great weather for that in texas. I really learned a lot visiting and had a great time while doing it!

This is a great place to take the family and a wonderful place for great photos. I have visited here in the spring and fall and they both have their own beauty. There is a great area for the kids to explore little old homes which are decorated as they would of been many years ago. A garden for the children to water the plants etc. You can buy lunch there or picnic if you choose. In the fall they have a pumpkin patch area and a hay maize and rides. Price is reasonable for a days outing.

Dallas Botanical Gardens holds a special place in my heart. It's where my husband and I went for our first date. It was in the spring, and I have never seen such a beautiful display of nature's treasures. I think it helped me fall in love.

What a lovely place to spend an afternoon! The parking is close to the gate (if you can get into that lot and not have to park down the street and shuttle) and the prices are fair. Spring is the most beautiful time to visit, they have massive tulips to admire that are just gorgeous. We had our engagement pictures taken here as well and they turned out wonderfully - the reflecting pool is a great place to take pictures or just to sit and relax. Lots of little trails to walk through, flowers to see, and places to sit and relax. Great for a date, family outing, or someplace to get inspiration for your own gardening projects.

The Arboretum boasts one of the largest and most beautiful live gardens in the country. Acres of blooms offer visitors a chance to experience fragrant and lush flowers and plants. Weddings are constantly being booked here for the sheer beauty. "Dallas Blooms" an annual event features close to 100,000 flowers and plants. Winding trails allow guests to leisurely stroll the facility. For $1 dollar customers can arrange to go on a hay ride. Pure fun and beauty for the entire family. There is also a gift shop to make your visit memorable.

The Dallas Arboretum is a wonderful place to go on a date. It has lots of beautiful flowers, both native and exotic. Their gardens offer a romantic setting for a picnic or an urban getaway. While you're here, you should see the two museums and the gift shop. I really enjoyed the architecture of the DeGolyer House.

Absolutely beautiful. They have things the whole family can enjoy. I attended a wedding here that was beautiful. With all the scenic views, there wasn't a need for purchased decorations.

Comparably priced to the Forth Worth Botanical Gardens, this location is best visited when special exhibits are in town. Parking is good, though the traffic getting there often isnt. Kids love the fountains. These Botanical gardens are very accessible for wheel chairs and strollers. Less crowded than Fort Worths gardens.
PROS: price, special exhibits
CONS: modest interest otherwise

Theres something new to discover around every corner at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. More than 66,000 acres of colorful gardens invite you to take a few minutes and smell the roses (azaleas, and more). In addition to flowers, the Dallas Arboretum has sprawling lawns, sparkling fountains, and a great view of beautiful White Rock Lake. You will not find a more picturesque setting for photographs. Be sure to check out the DeGolyer House historic museum.

Beautiful, calm, breath-taking experience...in the middle of Dallas! The grounds are spotless with acres of amazing flowerbeds, sculptures, fountains, and well-manicured lawns. A great place to escape and enjoy a little Texas sunshine. Membership is an excellent deal. Probably the best place to picnic in Dallas. Don't miss out on events that are fun for the whole family. Try a Cool Thursdays concert, children's camp, or afternoon tea. There is always something going on at the arboretum--you can find out more about events by visiting their webpage at www.dallasarboretum.org

Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is located only minutes from Downtown Dallas. Make sure to bring a camera and lots of film this is one breath taking site to see. You could spend all day looking at all the unique plants and flowers here. I think that in the spring it is even more beautiful when more of the flowers are in bloom. This is a great way to get away from the city noise and have a nice relaxing experience which seems like you are away from it all. They offer lots of children's activites in the spring and fall when they have more of the plants in bloom. Those are probably the two best times to go in the Spring and Fall. You won't be disappointed.
PROS: Sring and Fall Blooms

The Dallas Arboretum is amazing. The flowers and other plants are so well taken care of. The exhibits are always fun and well placed throughout the park. It is a nice place to take your family and have a picnic lunch. You can take a wagon for small children as well. Prices are very reasonable and there are discounts available. It is passed White Rock Lake if you are coming from Garland/Richardson area so they drive seems long but well worth it.
