Ratings_icons Not reliable when performing state inspections

James H.

Took two different cars there for inspection and had problems both times. Had to take the first one back twice for re-inspection because they didn't disclose all the problems the first time. With the second car, I dropped it off at 10:30am and they told me it would be ready by 1:30 and it wasn't ready until 4:30. In addition the service technician did not set the emergency brake (manual transmission) and left sweat stains all over my windshield. While I was in there this second time I noticed that there were several people bringing their cars back because the repairs were not completed correctly the first time. If you like Firestone, I would suggest looking for a better location in the area.

Ratings_icons I don't trust Richardson Firestone at all

johnathan m.

We took our car in to get the air conditioning looked at, and when we got it back they told us that we needed a new battery and an alternator. Our brand new alternator, which we had just had replaced a month before by a mechanic we trust in Canada, was working just fine before we took it to Firestone. Furthermore, the mechanic and service attendants kept making eyes at each other and acting very oddly. I don't trust these guys any further than I could throw them, and I will never darken their door again. WORD TO THE WISE: Don't leave these characters alone with your car, not even for 5 minutes.

Ratings_icons They don't need to be in business

Karen B.

I took my car in to get an inspection sticker. I was told I needed tires I bought two and had one patched. When it came out my husband noticed the next day that one of each tires had a lug nut missing for the tires replaced and the one repaired. When I called and questioned Firestone they denied it was their problem. Also, my tire lock was missing from my glove compartment as well.

Ratings_icons shameless liar, stay away!

My wife's car had alignment here. We were told that 3 of the camber bolts (totally 4, each wheel has one) are worn out and need to be replaced, which costs about $300. Hmm, it doesn't sound right for a car with only 35K mileage. So, we had alignment check somewhere else, well, you know what? All the camber bolts are absolutely fine, and Firestone didn't do any alignment for us at all.

For liars like this Firestone store, stay away from them!

Ratings_icons HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!

Anonymous

Get ready to get the run around, conflicting stories from employees, and rude customer service from a guy named Ken. NO ONE in business should give a recommendation to a customer WITHOUT even looking at their paperwork!!! And then be passed off to another employee who blames the customer for not "understanding" (and that's putting it in a mild form of the insult I received) the situation. UGH I am totally disgusted with Firestone.

Ratings_icons HAPPY FIRESTONE CUSTOMER

Anonymous

As a many time Firestone customer, I have found their estimates to be comparable to other automotive shops. They have always had clear, concise and reasonable explanations of the work needed. I have always found the employees to be helpful and friendly, wanting to do a good job. As a satisfied customer, I will continue to go back.

Ratings_icons Unless you like poor service and getting cheated, don't use.

This location is the worst. Not only are they overpriced (as most Firestones are), but you do not get anything extra for it. The customer service is very, very poor. Most of the staff are unfriendly. My car is currently in there to get the radiator replaced and they marked the work authorized without my prior consent. Some of the staff are friendly, but those aren't the ones out front. The ones working the desk are always irritated and hostile.

Furthermore, they attempt to stick you with what you don't need. The last time I was in there to simply get a hose replaced, they gave me a printout with over $500 worth of critical system failure, including a $400 master cylinder replace. I took it to my regular mechanic who had his team did a thorough inspection of it and all was bogus. My car has been perfectly fine and not needed any maintenance related to what they said.

Ratings_icons Poor service

Sherry M. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 5,023

We had taken our Taurus here to have work done on it several times only to have to take it to the dealer anyway. It was a lot of money thrown down the drain. I hope in the time that has passed they have gotten better but I will not take it to this particular branch again. The attendants were not friendly and I felt pressured while in the establishment.

PROS: None
CONS: Cost is too high, unfriendly

Ratings_icons Firestone is not my first choice to buy tires or to have work done on my cars!

stephen h. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 3,299

Yes Firestone has been around for ions and all but they are a poorly run operation. The prices are high, the work is not of the best quality, and they like to pull the bait and switch on people. I have never liked bringing my car there and never will again. I can't believe they are still in business!
