8-18-2010 I was in the store and I leasrned that HEB purchase fresh veggies for locate community and I was excited to fine fresh oark, which was tender, and taste like the veggies from my parents garden. The locate grown squash was the same way. Please use more veggies that are Grown Local rather than use commericial produces.

This HEB is very close to our home and is such a convenience for one stop shopping whether it be specialty foods or just household items. As with all the HEB's that I've been to, it is a very clean store with friendly staff!

This H.E.B is very clean. Everything is always fresh, and it's just the place to shop. They have everything that you would need. I love to shop at H.E.B, they are the best and my favorite place to shop!

This new HEB is a great store and great location! I've always had the best of service at this location and great variety of items. The employees have always been helpful whenever I need them. Not only that, when they see you looking for something, they offer their help without you asking.

PROS:
CONS: Not enough two-seater grocery carts

This HEB is really big and has a huge collection of items. You can compare this to a Walmart store.

Prices are reasonable and you get fresh vegetables, sea food. They recently added a new Asian section whihc is v good.

The new Parmer Lane H.E.B. is huge, clean, bright, and has a wonderful selection of anything you could want. (Okay, except housewares....they have the weirdest housewares section where you can get all sorts of small appliances but can't find simple things like barbeque mops.)

I love their produce section! It's set up for self-checkout so there are digital scales with printers throughout the produce area. This is a great diversionary tactic for the kids! Their organic selection is admirable. We've always found their fruits and vegetables to be fresh and well handled.

They used to have a big hot deli (it seems it was part of a failed experiment called HEB-to-go and that area is vacant now). The regular deli is extensive. They have a great meat department with separate butcher and seafood areas. There is a kitchen mock-up for classes and demonstrations.

The wine department is large and well laid out. The wine staff is remarkably knowledgable. They tend to carry low priced but highly rated wines with recommendations attached to the shelves (very helpful!) Their health food section is also large, rivaling Central Markets.

There are other departments that don't seem to make much sense. They have a huge baby department. (Don't get me wrong, as an owner of a baby, I love to see the little creatures get their special place, but I'm not going to do much clothes shopping at an H.E.B..) Oddly enough, the baby food selection is rather poor. There are some great choices on the market, I'd love to see them carry some!

They have self-check-out, which is the single great grocery evolution since the push cart. It's designed for this so there is plenty of room to work and a central sales associate who is usually pretty attentive to the frustrating errors messages that you sometimes receive. In the beginning, it was frustrating because this was the first location in the area to have self-check-out and this appeared to be very very confusing to a lot of people....but it's improve

PROS: Great selection, new, clean, self-checkout
CONS: Almost too big, hard to "run in" quickly
