This place is a Rip-Off!! They have a strict No-Refund policy, Absolutely No Exceptions. So you will NEVER get your money back, even when the item they sold you is pure junk! Case in point: I bought two new-in-factory-sealed-packages 6-foot data jumper cables (8-pin mini-DIN male connectors on both ends) from a bin full of those items, all new-in-package. I brought them home and found out they weren't jumper cables at all - the pins on one end weren't wired through to the pins on the other end. They weren't marked as any particular special-purpose cables in the store so I assumed they were simple straight-thru jumper cables (if you saw a pair of automotive jumper cables on the shelf, wouldn't you assume that the connector on one end was wired through to the connector on the other end?). So I immediately brought them back and told the manager they weren't what they appeared to be, and asked for a refund. She told me the store doesn't give refunds. I asked to speak to her boss and she told me "No"! A man (her boss?) came over and said I could have a store credit, but I didn't want anything else in that store, I just wanted my money back. I told him those cables looked like jumper cables but they really weren't, and to sell them as jumper cables is fraud. He told me they only looked like jumper cables to me, and they might look like something else to someone else! What??!! I finally got to speak with another guy who was dressed in black slacks and a white shirt (the owner, maybe?..by the way, there's always a new black Corvette parked out front, so someone there is making some very good money) and he also told me that the store never gives refunds, but then he walked over to the shelf and took the entire bin of those cables off of the shelf so no one else would make the mistake of buying them thinking they were jumper cables...so by his actions he was admitting that I had a perfectly valid argument all along, but he still refused to refund my money!

And remember, I had bought two of those cables...what if I had bought half a dozen? I'd still be out all of that money, and would still be in need of jumper cables, and would be that much more broke!

This business has absolutely no scruples, no accountability for their product, and NEVER gives refunds. Businesses that operate like this don't deserve to be in business.

First the store is a FIRE HAZARD and should be inspected by the Arlington fire department. It looks like an indoor garage sale. I was returning to Electronic Discount to use my store credit. I didnt have the receipt but I had given my phone number as a back up in their system for the purchase and was told that could be retrieved as my store credit. Which turned out t o be a Lie! Upon my returned to use my $9.31 credit I was told that the information that was told to me was incorrect. that my phone number (my private information that I shared which could be used by their store) would not pull up my store credit only my receipt. I said my receipt is/was my store credit they are both the same amount. The manager who was rude tells me that they can't honor my store credit and just walks off. My hard earned money and time was totally disrespected!!! Stick to the mainstream electronic stores cause this one is not where your money is honored. I refuse spend my money in a disrespectful trashy store with rude management!

THE NO REFUND POLICY IS UNREASONABLE - UNFRIENDLY AND DISRESPECTFUL MANAGEMENT - SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK!!! There should always be exceptions to a policy when it doesn't make sense. Case and point: I purchased a laptop charger. When I tested it in the store it seemed to work fine but later that evening I came to find that it would stop working after a few minutes when it heated up. No problem, it happens. I brought the item back the next day and they did not have any more in the store that were functioning. So, being that they had nothing to sell me and there were no other options, I asked for my money back to go get one somewhere else. They refused. I spoke with the manager, Bruce. He said, sorry, but there is a no refund policy and I can only authorize store credit. After several minutes of deliberating my point that there was nothing else in the store that could fix my laptop, he continued to say that I could only have store credit. Someone please enlighten me as to how store credit is going to solve this? They sold me an item that does not work and they could not replace only to turn around and tell me I cannot take my money back and get another one elsewhere? I'M SORRY BUT THAT IS BULLS$#%. Businesses like this don't belong in business anymore. I think it's great that they have a bunch of cool old computer stuff (that's way overpriced) and a bunch of candy and junk, but without any reasonable customer service and even a slight modicum of accountability for their product, the point is moot. There are no stores with a no refund policy in business anymore and even if they did, there should always be an exception if they sell you a bad part and cannot swap it for a good one. Other options if you are in the market for computer stuff: Fry's - Great selection and incredible prices. (full refunds always) Ebay - Full buyer protection and anything you need. Best Buy, Office Depot, Office Max, Comp USA and even Coscto (full refund on any product) Sorry this is so long, but I've been a long time shopper there and paid more than I care to admit and after being treated this way after all these years, it really breaks my heart.

And the reviewers Jim T. and Kyle B - That's the owner. ;-)

This store is like no other place you will every visit. There is so many different kinds of deals and close-outs. If you like new and old this is the place but if you need a bathroom for your little girl you might want to leave her at home ?

What are we kidding. Electronics discount is my last resort and they usually fail. I find their staff usually arrogant and rude. The place is run like a sleezy pawn shop. I was relatively tolerant until my last visit when in the middle of my shopping experience my little girl had to go the the restroom- I really find it hard to believe that a 10,000 sq ft. store does not have facilities- So, I gotta leave and find a place for her to do her business. My recommendation is to try Fry's.

EDS has long been a place for us geeks who like to find older stuff that still works, and at a good price. I've maintained several older computers with parts I've found only at EDS.

When you first walk in, it can be a bit intimidating, as it seems that there is very little organization. Once you get to walking around, though, you will be albe to discern the various sections, then find what you are looking for.

It's rare that you have a place where you can find parts to repair an old CB radio, an IBM PC, and an old Macintosh all in the same place. Heck, you can probably find those all three there new!

PROS: massive quantity of stuff
CONS: a little disorganized

EDS has a great deal of electronics, computers, tools, and misc stuff (how many places can you get a PC and novelty samurai store in 1 place?)
Great offers for store credit whenever you want to trade in something.
Great and knowledgeable staff.
I can always find an older game for $3-5 to burn time on. (yes, they have other application software to help from encyclopedias, tutorials, and more.)
You could even look thru their "electronics museum". I wonder if the have a Vic 20 in the mix?

PROS: Large selection of new and used electronics
CONS:
