I get my highlights from Joel. He knows how to give me highlights and lowlights with a beautiful shine. A friend recommened me to Azur when I complimented her hair she sent me to Joel and I am a happy girl. I look forward to getting my hair done at Azur every 6-8 weeks. The staff is fantastic and they have a little coffee and tea bar set up with a variety of herbal teas. etc
It is alway a treat to visit and I feel beautiful when I walk out knowing all the compliments I am going to receive. Love Azur !!

I've been shopping around for a place to get my hair maintained ever since I moved to Houston a couple of years ago. I decided to try Azur after reading many positive reviews here on Citysearch. I'm quite pleased with my decision! The receptionist recommended Chris for my haircut and I'm glad she did! He took the time to listen to what I was shooting for and offered some excellent suggestions when I asked for his opinion. In the end, my haircut turned out exactly how we planned. He did an fantastic job of cutting my hair to frame my face! I also thoroughly enjoyed the shampoo, it was like a mini massage!

Also, everyone was so nice there and did a very good job of making you feel welcome.

I definitely will go back!

I am very paticular about my haircut. Daniel took the time to cut and texturize it just right. I also wanted some chunky highlights that I did not have to get touched up that often and he also did a great job on that too! I love my new cut and funky highlights. I would recommend Daniel to anyone who likes a little extra attention and service!

I found Azur Salon on City Search and after reading the reviews decided to try it out. The receptionist was very polite and helpful in picking the stylist that would best meet my needs. I was booked for a hi-light/low-light and blowout with Joel. I was extremely impressed by the attentiveness of the front desk staff, the modern yet relaxing atmosphere in the salon, and the professionalism and talent that Joel brings to Azur Salon. Joel is an excellent stylist. My hair was beautifully styled and I am very happy with my color. I definitely recommend this salon! By the way, I do not live in Houston. I live in Louisiana and will gladly continue to make the 2 hour drive to have my hair done by Joel!

Im dissapointed that no information was given to me about the ingredients I was told it was natural made of keratin. and that it was FDA approve. The Fda has not approved the Brazilian keratin trratment. it regulates and approve the use of formaldehyde to no more 0.2% for comestic use because of its known carcinogen effects. hence the need for the stylist to wear a mask , shes inhaling all the cancer causing fumes. the product they use it's called marcia teixteria and there is no disclosure anywhere on marcia's website about the formaldehyde all they say is natural.

ever thought that repeated exposure to this can have some serious consequences such as cancer? . is up to you to be proactive in doing research the Brazilian keratin treatment is ban in alot countries .

There are five brands of the treatment solution available in the U.S.?we called Fiber, which, unaware of its carcinogenic contents, had been using the Marcia Teixeira Brazilian Keratin Treatment, which Allure found to have 3.4 percent formaldehyde. John Barrett Salon had been using this solution as well, but pulled the service from its menu after independent testing. Fiber has also pulled the service from its arsenal until it can test the product.

After my horrible experience with a previous hairdresser from another salon, Breanne asked what I wanted and how I usually wear my hair and she did EXACTLY what I asked for. No extra input or advice about what SHE thought I should wear my hair, and the way she blowdryed my hair was AMAZING. I looked the best I have ever looked in a long time. I don't know what she put in my hair or how she did it, but my hair was so full and thick and full of volume. It looked gorgeous! Thank you Breanne! I absolutely love my hair and will definitely be back for another cut and blowdry. And another plus is you can stop by and they will trim your bangs at no extra charge. That is great!!!

I have very fine, thin hair and have rarely found any stylist with whom I was pleased. Look no more - Jo Adams is the best. I've never been complimented on my short hair until Jo took over! I highly recommend her for her competence, style, and interesting personality. Her prices are steep, but well worth it (at least for me!). P.S .I also love the salon - everyone is so friendly and knew my name from the first visit.

I had a wonderful experience at Azur. Receptionist recommended Nadine for my color change. Totally happy with it. She listened to what I had in mind for color and then made some great suggestions. My hair looks healthy, shiny, and the color is beautiful. The atmosphere of the salon was friendly and I felt relaxed. I wil definately go back to Nadine for my color.

from the moment i walked into azur it was very professional and energetic. the receptionist offered me tea, water and wine while i waited for my stylist.
I cant speak for the work of the other stylists, but my experience at azur (with breanne) has been nothing but positive! she does a great job and is FAST ( i hate sitting at he salon for 3+ hours for a cut and color) and has very reasonable prices. she was very receptive to what i wanted, and offered her own ideas in a very professional manner. she listened to what i had to say and made sure she knew exactly what i wanted.
then it was time for the shampoo, which was a great neck and scalp massage,which is a must in a salon!
The end result was the best ive experienced! it looked great got tons of compliments. i will be returning to breanne shes very personable, warm, and friendly and she will always improve your day!

Breanne knows how to cut some hair! She had cut my hair a few months ago and had me stylin'. I absolutely loved the "do" she gave me. I had taken in a picture and she replicated it precisely. Recently, due to finances, someone else (not part of Azur Salon) cut my hair as a "favor". Though their heart was in the right place, the end result was less than favorable and I could not let it stay as it was. The first place/person I thought of without hesitation was Breanne at Azur. I saw her yesterday and she fixed me up. It takes real talent to transform a bad haircut into something livable at best. She did more than that, she worked magic and had me walking out with my head held high and a smile on my face feeling completely different about myself than I did when I walked in. She is the only one I will have cutting my hair henceforth. You will find Breanne to be not only talented but warm, welcoming, intuitive and in possession of the best quality of all a hair stylist can have-good listening skills.

after reading the rave reviews of this place, I finally booked an appointment for a haircut. At $45 for a men's cut, I was expecting a lot from the stylist.

I was the first booking of the day, and the stylist was 10 minutes late to the appointment. Since he was behind on time, the cut, shampoo/conditioning, and styling were all rushed through in 20 minutes. As far as the "cutting" went, the stylist ran a few quick passes of the razor through my hair and called it a day. I was shocked, my hair looked like it was never even cut!

When i gave a lukewarm response to the haircut, he made no attempts to try to fix anything or figure out what went wrong with the styling (which was namely, there was no styling). After tip, the total came out to $53 dollars. . . considering how much time he spent with me, this guy makes over $200/hour.

I'm booking an appointing as we speak with my old stylist, who is more expensive but now seems so worth it.

From ultra short to ultra long, I have trusted James with my hair styles for 10 years. He has not disappointed me once! He is very honest in telling me what styles go well with my round face. I got married and had to leave the Houston area for The Woodlands, and I drive all the way from The Woodlands to have James cut and style my hair. (In case you're wondering, I do not hang out with James. But I know I would have a fabulous time if I did!) Kudos to the ladies that greet me and take my appointments. They are always very friendly.

I have been in Houston for a little over 2 and a 1/2 years coming from living in 12 other cities in 5 different states. I have had many problems with finding the BEST Salon to put my trust in. Well, I have found it in Azur Salon. From the first time that I went there... I have never even thought of going anywhere else. I feel so good about myself every time I leave the Salon. My hair is not so difficult to manage, and I get many compliments on how Tony cut's my hair. I feel so grateful to get tips about how my hair should be and how I should style it. Some other places will just cut your hair and take your money, But Tony's attitude will make you feel like your his best client and make you want to come back !!!! I will definitely be back !!!!! I just wanted to say that I am completely satisfied with Azur Salon. At the moment that you enter into the salon everybody welcomes you with a big smile. I highly recommend the place. The stylish was an exquisite person very easy person to talk with - he answered all my questions about do?s and don?t s on hair. I love it? Azur Salon is fabulous! They really go above and beyond to make your time there very worth while. I moved to Houston a year and a half ago and was horrified at the thought of finding a new stylist and salon, but then I found Azur Salon. I couldn't have stumbled across a better find! James has been my stylist for almost a year now and he is wonderful! He listens to what you want plus gives you feed back to create a style that is perfect for you. If you are looking for a new salon go to Azur and ask for James!

I have been getting my hair cut, highlighted and styled by James for years. Not only is he a fabulous stylist, but he is also a great friend. Getting to see him is better than therapy! I saw him a couple weeks ago, asking his advise on bangs vs. no bangs. We landed on something in the middle, and I absolutely love it! I would never get my hair cut or colored by anyone else.

I was a faithful returning customer until I ran into a problem with their customer service. They sent me a 25% off on any tuesday-thursday in Feb (certain restrictions applied)..... Sounds like a good deal, right?? I literally, two days before had booked an appointment online with one of the stylist I had never been to before... and my appointment met the criteria for the discounted offer.

When I called to see if I would be eligible for the discount, I was told it was only for people who hadn't already booked an appointment! When I offered to re-schedule on a different day or with a different stylist, I was told no! I just felt it was unfair I was being penalized for booking a few days in advance.

If you want my advice, the salon is very nice-looking, the prices are definitely on the high-end; however the customer service does not match. And in my three previous experiences, the quality of work is about average for a decent salon; but extraordinary by no means. I was a returning customer because I like to pamper myself with these kinds of things... but if I wanted to finagle with the receptionist over a pretty straight-forward sales offer; I would be going the TGF hairdressers. No thanks!

OHH!!! And I forgot... they snicker at customers they deem as "difficult" or hard to deal with BEHIND their backs! I have witnessed this on more than one occasion... I felt that was extremely unprofessional on so many different levels, and should be a little more transparent to other customers!

I went to Joel for a partial highlight, and that is exactly what I got. Part of my hair highlighted. He didn't even put the color close to my scalp. When i left, it already looked like I had roots. Worst highlight I have ever had. Service was way too expensive for what I got. Sorry for the bad review, but I wanna warn people so they don't waste their money.

I was very nervous going in to Azur Salon because I had been going to the same stylist for years and I was scared to trust anyone else with my hair.

However, I am grateful that I took the risk because the haircut that Breanne gave me looks fantastic. I couldn't be happier. I loved the salon. It was comfortable and relaxing, nicely decorated, and I enjoyed having a glass of wine while Breanne worked her magic.

I did bring a picture for inspiration for my style, and I think Breanne did a great job of recreating the cut while making adjustments for my face shape and hair texture. When she was worried that my hair was too thin to look right with the bangs in the picture, she actually consulted with another stylist on the best way to make it work. I am very appreciative that she took the time to consider how my hair would look in the end and I think it turned out fabulous.

Not impressed at all. I went to Azur after reading multiple rave reviews from City Search. I must admit, I chose a stylist blindly from the website because I didn't have too much to go by. She had minimal personality and offered me little suggestions, as I asked for! I'd consider going to another stylist next time, but I already feel like I lost $65 and don't want to waste more. Also, I felt like I was sitting on top of the lady getting her hair done next to me, the chairs were so close! The employees at the front desk were really friendly, so I give my 2 stars to them.

It was a friday afternoon and I had just left my mimimester speach class. Not only did I feel bad about having to write a paper over christmas break; I also had terrible hair that had not been touched for awhile and was expecting family and friends that weekend. To add to my anxiety I had a big speech that I had to give in front of 20 students that following weekend! I needed a self esteem booster with stress relief! Luckly I found Liz!! Not only did she listen to how I wanted my hair cut but she understood. You see I have what you call a flat head in the back; not the round pretty shaped head that looks normal and round any way you wear the hair. Now, I dont know what God was thinking when he created my head because ponytails look terrible on me and when I do wear my hair down I look like somebody just sat on my head and flattened it out. lol on a serious note, Liz took care of that! Thank God for hair dressers! She gave me a cute bob shaped hair cut that changed the form and shape of my head forever! I love it! I do have to say that I was scared of short hair, but she convinced me that my long hair did have bad split ends. In her Salon lingo she said that because of the way my head was shaped a bob would bring curviture, texture and style. As she was cutting my hair she made realize that my stage fright and speech anxiety had a lot to do with the way I percieved my outward appearience to be. She was verry entertaining, easygoing and funny, she has this cute outragious laugh that will brighten anybody's spirits:) I just have to say she will be my hair dresser for a long time even if it means I have to drive or fly accross state lines to get to her, she is well worth the time and money! I left the Salon feeling like a new person, not only did she cut my hair she also cut away my negative self-perception of my outward appearance. I strongly recomend Liz, just tell her what you want and she will not only listen but give some expierenced advice:)

well first off from the start of my trip the front desk staff was very friendly!
i callled like twice bc i got lost and they were more than helpful
joel was my stylist and he did a great job!
just for some bckgrnd i had put 2 box dyes , color eraser,and had it professionally colored in like the past 4 months!
however joel was able to do a great job on my color--highlights without breaking any hair!
on top of that all of the staff was so friendly and fun --you cant go wrong there!
a lil bit hard to find though so allow urself plenty of time to get there

I'm the type of gal that finds a great stylist and sticks with them for a few years, only changing salons if I want to shake things up a little bit.

I called Azur because I saw it in my neighborhood. I called AHEAD to request a stylist that maybe specialized in highlighting blonds and someone who could suggest a fresh new hair cut. I told the receptionist how long my hair was and what sort of length I was shooting for. I know how busy salons can be and I didn't want to waste anyone's time...plus I wanted my stylist to be prepared to give me a couple of great ideas.

Well, when I arrived, my stylist had no idea what I wanted or why I was there. When I asked for ideas he had no clear way of explaining his thoughts nor did he have any pictures to show. Finally he said that "maybe I wasn't ready for a new style since I seemed unsure? OF COURSE I WAS UNSURE...that's why I asked for help...FROM A STYLIST.

I'd never been to this salon, let alone this stylist, I had no indication of what sort of work he did and he had nothing to show me...no magazines, no salon photos, nothing.

On top of all that hassle, I was very clear about the color I wanted. BUT the color he gave me was a dull yellow and there was a line of demarcation between my old blond and the new color. I looked like I had a crease in my hair from the color difference. Could it get much worse?

With any salon, you'll like your hair sometimes more than others, but this whole experience was pretty lousy. I walked out of there with a bad trim and a blotchy color... I basically paid $200 to tell you this?Try someplace else!

I recently had my first appointment at Azur. I did all my homework online; I scrutinized their website and I read all of the posted reviews. Based on these, I concluded that my appointment will be with Liz or Jim. Liz was available for the date I wanted, so I picked her.
She charged 85$ for some fine layering. I called back the next day to discuss with them that I was overpriced, the receptionist explained to me that all of Liz?s cuts are 85$ -regardless of how much she cuts- because she is experienced (I was not aware of this system, but it was my mistake, I should have asked). I have gotten the same cut for 40$ before, I guess with the environment of the salon I would have been fine paying up to 65$, but not more; the cut was not too special. I made the mistake of not asking for the price in advance; to all the other new clients, I would recommend that you consult with your hair stylist in advance. What you read on their website, a haircut of 45$ is only a haircut given by an ?inexperienced, just starting on the floor stylist? as it was later explained to me by the receptionist. The 45+$ comes with experience.
Another thing that puzzled me was that Liz whispered to the receptionist the price for the ?express check out?. If all of Liz?s cuts are 85$, as the receptionist said, shouldn?t the receptionist know that. When I confronted the receptionist about my wonder, she said ?we are humans too; we don?t remember all of our 10+ stylists prices?. Okay. The receptionist however was kind to ask me if I wish to return and fix my hair if I was unhappy, but it seemed that I was unhappy with the price.
In conclusion, this is not meant to be a harsh review, however if you are like me and rely on the internet, I want you to know the facts listed above. Also, Liz?s hair cut turned out fine but overpriced. However, if you are willing to spend 90$ for your hair cut I would recommend Jim or Greg , they are experience plus you might get engaged in some funny conversations.

It has now been one month since I dyed my hair darker at azur salon. The color has already faded and is lighter than before I went there to dye it and I had even been using a salon brand shampoo specialized for reducing fade. Also, my hair is in the worst condition it has ever been in and I used to be a competitive swimmer and have had severe chlorine damage in the past, but nothing will ever compare to the damage that the dye from azur did to my hair. It is soo dry and brittle, I am worried that I will have to cut a lot of it off. My old hairdresser from home told me that the salon might use peroxides in their dye which can severly dry out the hair shaft. If you have dry hair, please be weary about the dye from this salon. My cut was not very good either. Overall, azur is not worth the money.

After receiving a bad cut from Tony the first visit to the salon, I read rave reviews about Liz. Trusting the reviews, I made an appt. online.

Liz listened (she validated the uneven hair), & didn't cut the top, the sides started out being even and I liked what she had done (started with razor). During the styling process, she grabs the scissors & started chopping on left side. Once she was done, I ran my hands through my hair, it was apparent that left side was shorter then the right. I pointed this out to her & she messed with it and said no. I went home, styled it myself. It was sooo uneven the right side stuck out noticeably further. With hair as short as my ear and in layers.

I call the salon asking for my money back. Elizabeth was courteous and empathetic with me on the phone, she said the owner wanted me to come in and see what could be done. Which really at this point, the point of growing my hair out has be eliminated. This is the shortest I have had it in 6 years.

My experience with the owner truly left me baffled and shocked. I explained the above. All he wanted to do is tell me how the salon had 400 new clients last month and how good his stylist are, how booked they are and that my bad hair cuts were really a communication problem. He looked at my hair, started chopping away at the longest side (right) to get it even with the left. When he started cutting on the left side (this was the side that was too short to begin with) I started tearing up & crying. He ignored this. He did not even try to style my hair to show me other ways to possibly like the chopped off do. Didn't really apologize. I've never been treated with such disregard. For having paid over $100 for a cut that I am misreable with. Now, I am the right side shorter than the left. it will take 6 months to grow out just to collar length if I'm lucky. At this point, to call them back to fix it again would mean they would cut it even shorter. I have no hair left to cut.

Looked on Citysearch for a salon while in town for a couple of months, found Azur and am so glad I did! My whole experience at Azur was great; from the ease of making appointments online, to the friendly staff and great products. I'm just bummed that this great salon so far away from my home in San Diego!! I highly recommend Azur to anyone looking for a new salon with an attentive staff!!!

Just got home from my appointment with Liz - partial highlight and cut - and could not be happier! Being a blonde, it's hard to find someone that understands how to do blondes correctly - tone, lowlights,etc. - Liz completely nailed it! The highlights are incredible - even my husband commented - now that's AMAZING! She also took the time to explain the proper care required to keep my hair healthy after all the processing - something I thought I knew, but realized I really didn't.

I already have my next appointment scheduled because I know that she is only going to get busier as word gets out about her.

Warning: Do NOT use the parking garage if you have a SUV. It is for small cars only and my SUV got stuck on the ramp and now have thousands of dollars worth of damage because of it. The salon tells people over the phone that they should not park there, but their web site states otherwise. Unfortunately I made my appointment online and suffered the consequences.

Hair colorists don't appear to be specialists at all and I wound up wasting $95.

The front desk staff are lovely and they do offer beverages - including wine - but the hairdressers aren't that great.

Pros: Fabulous Front Desk Staff

Cons: Colorists don't know what they are doing, the parking garage is not for SUVs.

I got a haircut from Brianne (sp?) today and the experience was GREAT! I got the perfect haircut at a great price with great conversation. It really was an enjoyable experience from the moment I walked into the door and was offered a refreshment by the receptionist to the smile I had on the drive home.

I had weight loss surgery and lost a great deal of weight but a side effect was loosing and thinning hair as well. I am a career professional and I admit a bit vain as well ...so I must look good. I searched the internet for the top salons/hairstylists in Houston and located Azure I read previous reviews and then booked an appointment. The receptionist staff was very professional and kind I explained my wishes and she recommended Liz , the day of my appointment I thought I will either be thrilled or crying but I stepped out in faith and took a chance. Liz listened to me but made some alternate suggestions and I felt confident that she knew what she was doing and I really liked her demeanor so, I trusted her and OH MY GOD! She created a whole new look for me and I am just thrilled. I have gotten numerous compliments I am thankful to have met Liz and look forward to seeing her for my next appointment. The salon is beautiful, and the staff invieting but more importantly you will enjoy your experience and allow me to suggest making an appointment with Liz and enjoy the new you!

After reading great reviews on citysearch for another popular salon, I put my trust in a hair stylist that seemed competent enough to cut and color my hair. I requested a dark brown color, but ended up with an orange tint on top of my previously blond highlights! That bad salon experience caused me to avoid all salons for months. So, I decided to put my faith in the citysearch reviews once more and found Azur Salon. Scheduled my appointment online, and needless to say, walked into Azur with a total hair disaster, roots grown out and all. Regardless of how tragic my hair appeared, the entire staff at Azur treated me with much kindness. I got my hair cut and colored by Jim and let me tell you, his skill is beyond measure. It was obvious that I was nervous about having another hair fiasco, but Jim was so attentive and was able to create a one-toned dark brown hair color that I was seeking. The cut and color turned out phenomenal. I am incredibly pleased with the service that Azur provides and will definitely be returning.

Last Friday was my first visit to Azur, and Liz was my stylist. She took the time to really hear what I wanted in both color and cut, and then proceeded to give me such lovely color and highlights - she made me very happy. I don't spend much time styling my hair, and the cut she created suits my face and the texture of my hair, and is exactly what I've been looking for - it is easy to fix and it makes me feel pretty! My hair has never looked better. My friend at work, upon seeing my hair, is planning a visit to Liz in the near future. Everyone I encountered at Azur was friendly and welcoming - and LIz is simply amazing. Thank you, Liz - you've got a client for life!

I've had many bad experiences with blonde highlights in the past--my hair just turned out looking totally unnatural and overprocessed. My friend recommended Azur and I decided (after reading reviews on citysearch) to go see Nadine. She was fabulous! She knew exactly what I didn't like and listened to me to get my hair looking exactly how I want it. This is the best color I've ever had and Nadine just has such a great personality. So I search for salons with over 100 ratings - found a few, looked on their websites and decided on Azur - LOVE IT! Had a cut and hilites - little pricey but everything is in Houston...few days later, got a phone call to see if I was happy w/my hair cut - then few weeks later, recieved a letter from my stylist saying "nice to meet you...see you again" - very good marketing!!! Parked in the garage, no problem beside normal Shepperd traffic. Went again and had another great experience - nice people - awesome stylist (Liz - man does she give great head massages during your wash) - so found my new salon!

Pros: Liz really talked w/me about what I wanted - likes/dislikes w/current cut...and then you can book next appointment online - soo easy!

Cons: Little pricey but worth every penny! You get what you pay for...and good hair doesn't come cheap.

I looking for a new place and saw this at City Search with good reveiws. I called and talked with receptionist and explained what I was looking for. My hair was not bad at this time. After going there, my hair is worst and I got in my car and cried. Still looking for someone to fix it.

All I will say is do not waste your time or money here.

JIM BAGLEY, where have you been all my life? I have been in search for a good hair stylist and I got more than what I have been looking for. This man is an incredibly AWESOME hair stylist, hands down. He had me at, ?Hello gorgeous beautiful black locks!? I cannot imagine myself going to any other hair stylist other than Jim Bagley. He keeps it fun and fresh during each visit. He knows exactly what I want and can visualize what suits me best. He never seizes to amaze me after each hair cut. Jim Bagley possesses an incredible knack for hair styling.

I have received numerous amounts of compliments. And two words are all I say, ?Jim Bagley?. So you ALL you city-searchers stop searching because I have found the one for you. I am telling you with all honesty?once you give Jim a try you cannot deny his talent is nothing short of amazing.

Because of driving distance, I left the colorist that I used for 9 years - needless to say, I was apprehensive about trying someone new. I used Citysearch to find the best colorist in Houston and it lead me to Azur Salon. Just a few days ago, I made my initial visit to Azur and had my hair colored and highlighted by Nadine. After consulting with me about my preferences, Nadine worked her magic and - wow - what a magnificent job! I love my hair!!!
Additionally, the receptionists are just delightful - very attentive and intuitive about my needs. I even had a follow-up call to ask if I liked my hair after my first visit! Unbelievable!
If you are looking for a first-rate, customer-focused salon, go to Azur. You will not be disappointed!

I have a HUGE permanent smile plastered across my face after my appointment today with Jo Adams! I was a first time client and now I?ll be a permanent client! The entire salon experience was great from the moment I arrived. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed yet completely professional and the salon interior is nicely designed.

I brought in several pictures for Jo to understand the color and cut style I wanted. She took the time to go through each one and explain what aspects would work with my own face shape. I truly appreciated her honesty and sincere desire to make me a happy client! I love the fact Jo does both the color and cut. She understood the look I wanted and was able to capture it because she had control over the entire process. When she finished, I could not stop smiling - I was thrilled! Jo nailed the color perfectly and the cut is amazing. I have looked a long time for a stylist this talented. I have only the strongest recommendations for Jo!

OKAY WOW!!! I had a complete disaster on a Sunday night with a haircolor that went BAD!!!! Attempted to use a color eraser on my jet black hair to prepare it for a lighter color, and my roots turned yellow, and the ends stayed BLACK!!! I was in TEARS!!! My hubby told me, "I dont care how much it cost, or who you go to, but tomorrow you gotta get it fixed!!!!"..So i went online and searched out the BEST colorist salon in Houston, and AZUR was one of the first to pop up...Another big advantage about this situation, was that they were open on MONDAY, which alot of salons are not...I called them early Monday morning, and Elizabeth was sooo helpful on booking me in asap for a consultation, she returned my call promptly, and told me to come right in to see one of their colorist named Joel....The salon is very clean and modern, and has a very relaxing feel...None of the stylists shrieked in horror as they seen my hair, but everyone was very professional and comforting to my dilemma..Joel took one look at my hair, and knew exactly what to do...He was more concern about the overall HEALTH of my hair, than just racking up cost to finish up the damage I had already done....When he got through, it was SUPERB!!!! My hair was GORGEOUS!!! He made me promise I would never attempt anything like that again, and I agreed with another promise that he would be my professional colorist for now on!!!!! If you want a salon, that is not only great about cuts, coloring/highlights and staying with the biggest trends, but also care about HEALTHY LOOKING HAIR, you gotta check AZUR out!!!!

I am a travel nurse so as you can guess, I travel around pretty frequently. I had a traumatic experience when i was young with bad haircuts so i am very cautious when letting others cut my hair especially when i am not familiar with them. I was in the mood for something drastic and decided to go short for the first time in my life. I walked into Azur and Jim Bagley put me at ease with his confidence and great sense of humor! Once he was finished it was easy to see where his confidence came from.....he is absolutely amazing!!! I have short hair now and have never felt better! A couple of months ago i also witnessed his amazing talent with color and highlights!! Kind of expensive but worth it. All around the best hairstylist I have EVER had! Thanks JIM!!! :)

I found Azur on Citysearch, and I'm glad I did. Thanks to their extremely helpful Web site (and that's rare for a salon), I was aware of the pricing, able to choose my stylist based upon the staff bios, and what's more, I made the appointment in a flash online. I'm always nervous walking into a new salon, especially when I'm new to a city and have no word-of-mouth recommendations, but Azur put me right at ease. The atmosphere is so elegant and high-end and yet the staff is so genuine... no pretentiousness here! Cion Ortega is an absolute genius, and did a brilliant job with my awkward hair (it's fine yet thick, wavy yet straight, and if that's not challenge enough, I prefer to keep it long). I walked in with a messy mop of damaged hair, and 45 relaxing and fun minutes later, I looked supermodel-gorgeous. I don't even have to spend more than a few minutes on my hair for it to look great, either - that's never happened before! I can finally stop being jealous of all my friends with great hair, because they're actually jealous of mine now. Azur's stylists love what they're doing and it shows. I recommend it to anyone, although I almost hate to do so because I wish I could keep the secret to myself. ;)

I have been going to Azur for about two years now. At first I went only because of Nadine, who is a great colorist. I am immensely particular (fussy) about dyed blonde hair and she is the only person in Houston to whom I would trust my color. Period. I used to get a simple cut by whoever was available - James and Tony were very competent, and my only bad cut was from a person who is no longer employed there. But that was until I met Joel. He does what I ask him to do, but better than I ever could have asked. Instead of my usual boring hair, he added his own expertise to my cut and even taught me to style it in 10 minutes/day. Between great color, a fabulous cut, and quick and simple styling, my hair has never looked better - and people who have known me my whole life tell me how amazing it looks.
