Wet Pets N Critters

I love going to Wet Pets N Critters. Of coarse I am an animal lover. It did smell like animals, but that's because its an animal store. All the cages were clean and the emloyees really friendly. I do think some things were a little overpriced, but that is at almost any pet store.

I just moved here to longview, and happened to by chance walk into the store. I didn't think it was too bad. There wasn't feces or anything like that. I'm a veterinary technician, and you have to understand that in a store where people are able to handle puppies, there's some chance that disease can be transmitted. Parvo sticks to people very easily, and anyone could go in and transfer it to a puppy. As far as feces on the puppy you bought....you'd be amazed how easy it is to turn your head and a puppy is covered. Trust me. I'm sure it wasn't from neglect, so much as from the fact that it's a puppy, and sometimes it happens. The animals seem well taken care of. The fish area was very clean. the reptiles were, at worse, in a bare cage, with maybe less room than they would like. Furry animals were comfortable and clean. It was fine. It didn't stink. Whatever fuss is happening on here, they are either over reacting, or they have changed some policies in the store.

There are always People who judge others what they do or how to do it. Animals have an odor that's just it. the store employees have improved. The management is what y'all have to attack. Selection is plenty. Go get the animals out of the Store so they can get new once. If the animals stay a long time there getting sick. Look how busy this place is. People go in the store like it is a zoo. People and there cleanness makes them sick.

You have to understand, an animal store is going to stink, & have some problems, don't sit here & say all these things unless you know all about what you are talking about. Our store is very well taken care of, it's a hard job, & we are improving everyday. Every animal is taken care of, without a doubt. Being in a small area, animals will get sick, that's life. We are just as good as any other pet store. We have a better selection, & young workers who are able to do all the hard tasks to keeping the store alive, & running.

This store should be closed- My friend just bought a dog that within 24 hrs came down with Parvo and passed away at the vets office. I bought a dog that came home covered in feces. It is sad that this store is able to operate and keep these poor animals in such horrible condition!

I was in Wet-Pets&Critters this week.Each and every animal cage/tank was horrible & seems to have been that way for a long time. The birds, hamsters, & fish areas are a disgrace. There were 2 guineas that were VERY sick in the communal pen. I wouldn't buy my 'tiel a toy because they (what few were stocked) were layered with dust.Never, never, never again will I shop there.

The store has a nice selection, but the animals are not well taken care of. The fish section is awful- algae and different blooms abound, and many of the fish are sick. Every time I go in the store, the dogs have feces in the cage with them and the stench is horrible. Many of the employees are young and inexperienced and can not fully answer your questions. I wish I could take some of the animals out of the store and put them in a better place. I strongly suggest shopping elsewhere for a pet.

the store is very dirty the reptiles are skinny and unhealthy some were even dead. there is no reason for this to be happening. the dogs smelled of urine and feces. the cat where not much better. the store has really gone downhill since i was a kid. the store use to be nice clean good atmosphere not anymore i would not recommended purchasing any animals from there .
