Our family of 5 have had many meals at Hot Wok Cafe and every one has been really good and fresh. My favorite aspect of this restaurant is that they will cook whatever we want the way we want it. We have our own little quirky requests and they were happy to prepare them with a smile. My favorite is the Chicken Curry, ordered very spicy. Great chicken, veggies, and sauce (and not the cheap veggies either). We often go there to have dinner when one spouse is traveling for work - very convenient.

I found a lot of mixed reviews on Hot Wok Cafe and on this site I see what looks like a real review on how great it is. Perhaps the location is key. I ordered from Hot Wok tonight and we threw most of it away. Rice was partially hard, chicken dark and tasted aweful, beef sauce was not good, egg drop soup tasted like some chemical or plastic was in it, dumplings soft, small onions were growing and old tasting... overall we almost got sick and tossed it and ordered Pizza. I then noticed that while we're in Frisco, the menu posted on our door and we ordered from, was Little Elm. It sounds to me like Frisco store is great... but honestly, at 5:30 dinnertime order, this was horrible! If Frisco is that good then they should sue the Little Elm store because it's hurting their business in my opinion.

this place was excellent the first couple of times and i LOVED it. but the last couple of times have been a different story.the frst time it was bad they would just hang up on me when i was talking to them and then i would call them back later to see if the food was coming and the were like its coming then hung up. then they called back later and asked for the address. if they were more patient then it would just be less hectic. andi don't know why but when we ate the food it was pretty bad, like hong kong would be way better than that. but i decided to try again and maby it was just that one time that it tasted bad.the second time they kept asking for my adress and all this stuff. and i told them. then she i guess didn't understand me so she started goin off saying " mam' we are very buisy here and you are waisting my time, i can't get your adress up" then she hung up and then called me up later asking for my adress. i told her then she just hung up on me so i am waiting right know frustrated because i do not know if they are coming or not...

I have to write this because I don't know where the person who said the veggie's were old ate. I've been at the restaurant late in the evening as the family that owns Hot Wok was breaking up their beans. I've seen them do several veggies that needed 'broken up' as a family and it reminded me of growning up in Ga with a vegetable garden where the whole family sits with bowls and talks and works.

All of the eggrolls and potstickers and such are hand made! Not frozen from a bag from Sams Club. I can name a few in Frisco that that is where there's come from. This is fresh food and prepared to order. We've been regulars since we moved near Hot Wok about 5 years ago.

I have a knitting group that was in need of new venues and I brought my group to Hot Wok. No one but me had ever been there. Now all of my members eat at Hot Wok regularly. Frisco has at least four other Chineese restaurants within 3 miles of Hot Wok, but we (and most of my neighbors) never go to the others because it's a waste of money.

Hot Wok is a great value, especially thier lunch menu where your main course, fried rice and a fortune cookie runs about $5-$6.

I honestly don't know where the other person with the horrid experience ate. However, as a caterer, myself, I did notice that the words used in that review (fried powder, margins, refried powder) make me wonder what the anonymous poster does for a living - maybe owns a Panda Express? at the Airport? I think that's a fake review.

If you go to Frisco-on-line you'll see over 30 great reviews for Hot Wok, a beloved Frisco restaurant.

Many other Frisco chineese restaurants have about 2-3 sauces for ALL of their main courses. Hot Wok cooks the proper sauce for each recipe.

The owners are very nice people and if you do have a bad experience (I've eaten there over 100 times and never had one bad morsel), please tell them. They want you to be happy. Tina and her son have the best command of English, Mae understands a good bit.

I love this place and so does everyone I know!

I've had their food delivered at least eight times now. We used to go for Cathys Wok or sometimes Hong Kong but are very particular and all I can say about the people who are giving it one star and saying the veggies are awful is they must be either competitors or eating at a different place than I order from.

The food has been excellent every time. Their egg drop soup and hot and sour soup are perfect. Every chicken and shrimp dish has been flawless, not greasy, chow mein for example is always crisp and fresh tasting. Egg rolls are perfect crunchy brown and stuffed with fresh cabbagy slaw stuff just the waY I prefer them real new york style chinese try it order a couple of orders like Orange Chicken, Shrimp Chow Mein and some egg drop soup will be priced right and you will go back for more I know - we do.

We have ordered take out from Hot Wok for the past 7 years. I have never had an issue with anything we have had. YUM!

Pros: Always hot & fresh when delivered!

★★★★★

I eat a lot of chinese food and Hot Wok has the best dumplings! Their fried wontons are great too! I like the egg drop soup, wonton soup, there are HUGE portions when you order a menu item. Their kung pao is excellent! Their delivery is quick and HOT!

Pros: Best dumpligs in DFW

Cons: When the woman takes your order, she hangs up on you

★★★☆☆

I've been several times for the service and the value. Go several times before to figure out what you like and don't like. For me, other than the crab rangoon, none of the food is exceptionally good here. The fried rice is a tad bit too oily for my taste. Children's menu is a good value and tasty. Avoid all desserts - freezer burn taste. Decor is minimalistic, but two TV's are present. Staff is friendly and responsive. Cost - Cheap. Food - Average. Service - Excellent. Ambience - think Motel 6. Good luck!

Pros: Service and value

Cons: Desserts

★★☆☆☆

We went for dinner, not lunch. The food was below average for Chinese food. This was our first and last time. But there was a steady stream of people coming for take out. So either the take out food is better or we have different tastes than everyone else.

Pros: Fast Service

Cons: Food was below average

★★★★☆

Not the typical Chinese menu where everything tastes the same with a different sauce, I have eaten here for the past couple of years, they deliver to our office and everyone really likes it. I also think its a great value.

Pros: Great Taste, Fast, Price

Cons: Atmosphere

★★★★☆

I eat lunch at Hot Wok Cafe regularly because it has a good value lunch special menu and the food is very flavorous and plentiful. The staff is very friendly and service is excellent. I would recommend it as a regular stop in Frisco for lunches.

Pros: price, serving size, friendly staff
