Ye Lions Den Restaurant

Ye Lions Den seems to me to be way over-hyped. The food was overpriced and over-rated. I was quite disappointed with my overall meal and the service was just mediocre.

We recently had a wedding luncheon here and Ye Lions Den Restaurant was fabulous! My sons new in-laws brought extra people even though they knew that it was limited to invited people and that a final count was 2 days before the wedding. The staff were so kind and told me not to worry about it and they took very good care of our large group. The food was wonderful and the service excellent. Later at the reception they catgered our chocolate fountain even though I had to book it the Tuesday of the Wedding as my son, daughter-in-law and her family had failed to plan for food for the wedding reception. They got the chocolate and eight items to dip the chocolate in and had staff monitoring the chocolate fountain and the food. They set up and took everything done and were once again so nice and did an absolute wonderful job. I definatley would eat here again and will use them in the future for any catered event.

Probably the worst dining experience in 20 years - since the last time we ate there. Advertised 'Well Done' availability, but we were told that they don't do well done when we ordered it. Asked if the chopped steak could be well done, were told yes, and it came back medium - had to send it back. And what is the deal with liver and onions, and the options are bake potatoe or pilaf. No mashed, or gravy. Service was curt, especially when we asked if we could get a well done prime rib, and the waitress told us "no, we don't do that here" even though it was on the menu. Wow, this was a great experience for a birthday dinner. My advice? If you want the ground steak, go to burger king. tasted about the same, but it's $11.00 cheaper. Never again. I was only wondering who would rate this place as number one....... perhaps in the mind of the proprioter only. What an embarassment to Ogden eating establishments!

The Lions Den is the perfect restaurant for any occasion (special or not)! Every dish at this place is good - you can't go wrong! Fabulous steaks, great pasta & salads. Wonderful! Their spinach ranch salad dressing and thousand island is absolutely the best and we order it to take out for holidays just to dip our veges in! A must stop if you are in the Ogden area! Bring your $$$ - it's expensive - but worth every penny!
