You might be working out feeling great and getting the amazing body you always dreamed of, but when it comes to getting out of the situation of cancellation at any cause ends up turning into a nightmare!!!,Riviera fitness are phonies, it maybe easy getting in by signing on that line for unlimited monthly fitness , but it's hard getting out. They will still charge for the next month and then throw in a cancellation fee or with some people the charges still continues. I changed my debit account number information so they won't get another red cent out my A**!!! to avoid them from getting a steal.. I advise you "Don't Seal the Deal!!!!!"

I wanted to join Gold's Gym in January but was told that price would go UP because of all of the weight-loss New Year's resolutions so would be better to join in December. LIE!! Membership for January is $1.00!!! But that is just my initial complaint! I paid all fees upfront for December. This was a Christmas gift to my son and drafts were to come from my checking acct. He just received a letter stating that the acct. was DELINQUENT and would be sent to collections due to an incorrect banking #. The draft came through my acct. last week!!! They have several phone #'s they could call but instead send a collection letter. So far, calls to them have not been returned. I cannot WAIT to get my chance to let them have it!!

I have been trying to cancel a membership with Paramount Acceptance for over a month. When they finally accepted my documents they waited until my payment due date and my credit card had been charged before they let me know my cancellation fee had not yet posted. I have called the supervisor's line more than 30 times and never received a call back. Although I am more than 1000 miles from any possible location they provide services to, they will not refund the monthly payment.
I have attempted to contact anyone higher than a Customer service representative and have only spoken with answering services. I have contacted and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
I have been a member of numerous gyms and this is by far the lousiest service and provider I have ever experienced.

Well i went to sign up at golds and at the time i didnt have a bank account so the trainer said thats ok you can just pay at the counter. You guys are just the lucking ones that haven't had any problems with the company, yet. By the way it is paramount's job to stand by the word of what the gold's gym employees tell you. Not just to collect debt. Twice now I have extended my contract by paying it all up front, as it is cheaper to do so then month by month, and twice now they have started billing for two different accounts. It should be paramount's job to link up the two contracts and void out the expired one. It's F***in common since. Why would I want to pay $40.00, month for month, on one account. While just paid hundreds for a 3 year contract? I'm the only one that can use it. Yes there are SOME paramount rep's that are helpful. However, I literally just called 20 min ago and had a rep lie to me that I wouldn't be paying for the month to month. She straight up lied. She didn't understand my claim and said what the heck with it I'll give him what he wants to hear. Luckily I called back to double check. Now I have to call corporate, even though the one I just called is considered coroporate, and explain myself all over again. What's new? they didn't answer. If I have to pay another dime for the membership that should be closed I am going to punch someone, anyone. It's not right how there buisness works. Since joining Gold's Gym two years ago, I've had to contact this company twice. The first time I decided I wanted to change my billing from a credit card to my bank account. The process was as easy as cake, and I saw the change immediately the next month. Today I called to let them know I was cancelling my gym membership. I read my contract and new it would expire 2 years after I signed it. They referred me to Gold's Gym corporate office, and they told me that because I had a corporate account, I didn't need to call and cancel. It would expire itself. Obviously, you just need to be informed about what you're signing up and the terms of the agreement. Because I knew I had signed up for a 2 year membership, I knew I would have to let the contract expire before I could cancel without a fee. They don't hide this stuff from you. Not only did I read the contract before I signed, but the sales guy was happy to answer all of my questions. It's your problem if you fail to educate yourself and ask the right questions. Maybe not what you want to hear, but hopefully a lesson you'll apply in the future.

Either you can no longer afford it, have missed a payment, got a new credit card and never updated the information, thought you could cancel early but didn't actually read the contract and just listened to the what the gym employee told you, etc. In every case this is YOUR FAULT not Paramount Acceptance's fault. All those leaving comments for this review will be prime examples for us all to view of how ignorant people are in not checking a legal document before signing and then thinking they are right just because they are so frustrated. This company may not always be polite but that is not their job, there job is to collect on those who don't follow or try to argue their way out of their contract. In any case try being nice to customer service reps regardless of situations and you'll see you will get your way and READ YOUR CONTRACTS FOOLS!!

I was also told that i would be getting charged 30.00 a month, instead it is 45.00 a month. I called to cancel my membership, and the demon wh**e told me that my membership didnt expire until april 2011.
It is useless for me to have a membership that I will not use and cannot afford. I signed up for a 6 month agreement with Golds, tried cancelling bc I hardly go there anymore due to the time I have at home, so I called to cancel, they said "you can pay 25$ to put your acct on hold but you will still be charged 122/mo" I said I just want to end it "You cant, unless you can get someone else to pick up the next 4 months of 122/month. GRRR.... and I get the voice mail. Planet fitness goes for 10/month and no commitment!

Before contacting Paramount to change my account information I read the reviews and went to Gold's website directly and found my local gym and asked how to change or cancel my membership. She gave me Gold's Corporate Number 801-272-8461 where I gave different routing information to her. I informed her about all the bad reviews with Paramount concerning canceling and she informed me the best thing to do is cancel with Gold's directly. Hopefully this helps anyone.

I signed with golds gym with a friend of mine I thought and after I recived my new bank card (WITH THE SAME BANK ####) I had no payments taken out for quite some time then one day going to the gym they said I was hunderds of $$ past due. I called Paramount only to get the phone tag and run a round finally after months went by I just had to pay them. I got married and told my wife to watch her membership and now their duing the same to her what a joke.. People please go to a nother gym you will be much more happier about your bank account.

I have a complaint concerning Paramount Acceptance. I have made 12 payments to this company without any trouble until my credit card they had on file expired.
It expired in Jan 09. I wasn't notified of a problem until March 09.
By this time, my account had accumulated
some $80+ in fees. According to them, they said they had called me on December 10th as a courtesy to remind me of my card expiring. I believe that they actually called my number, but there is no way they left a message of any kind. There is only 2 people living in my house and both of us would be right on taking care of something like this. It is my feeling that they had ever intent of collecting as much in fees as possible before actually sending out a letter on March 12th.
I don't know if this company is Gold's Gym or if Gold's hires them as a finance company. I ended up paying the fees [because I had no choice]but it is my intent to get on any and all blogs crying my tale about Paramount and Gold's Gym. I am very angry about being held up and robbed of $80 and it is legal [according to them]

I called and spoke with one of the rep and she told me that they could not suspend the contract for 6 mos because that wasnt an issue to them and for me to keep trying to make the payments I told her the lady at the fitness place told me that ya'll would help me out. DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT ever get entangled with Paramount Acceptance corp... they are LIARS and CHEATERS!!!!!! they charged my 189 to open and account with them... and 40 a month on top of that and i moved away from the area and was never aware of the cancellation policy or fees... after asking countless times!.... now they want over 400 for me to cancel my account!!! what a piece of work!!! these people lack moral and professionalism... they are the worst and i regret ever doing business with them!!!

Before you sign up for this type of service from Golds Gym, do yourself a favor and dash across four lanes of traffic on I-15 during rush hour. Why you ask? Because canceling your contract with Professional Fitness of N.C. who never, ever answers calls or advises their accounts collection people (Paramount Acceptance of Holladay, UT) that the cancellation has been received. As a result, Paramount Acceptance employees will harass you constantly as well as use different ACH numbers in an effort to take money from your bank account even though you advise your bank that this is no longer allowed. I had to change my bank account number to keep Paramount from taking money after my cancellation fee had been paid. I asked them to verify the cancellation with Professional Fitness, their response in a nutshell was screw off and pay your account before we ding your credit. What a great bunch of folks to work with! Golds Gym, Professional Fitness and Paramount Acceptance add up to a huge screw job you'll likely never get over!

The mess that paramount has made has caused me 4 phone calls, $60 in unnecessary fees and a bunch of headaches. I am a very patient person and have never written a poor review on anything before, but this has been ridiculous. My husband and I have seperate Gold's Gym memberships and his payment keeps running through our account monthly just fine, mine, since December has been rejected, ran through the wrong account-leading to returned check fees (??) and late fees!!! We have the same account, due date-but some how mine keeps being rejected. They have been impossibly defensive-even before I started to get upset over another $40 in fees the lady was telling me "calm down, you don't have to get upset with me" and I just sat there thinking "I didn't even say anything!". I know that anyone reading this is already stuck, but there has to be some way to not pay these RIDICULOUS fees for their mistakes. It doesn't seem right in the least.

My gym never informed me of the changes when the account was sold to paramount. My gym debited my account twice in one month on the 7th and the 22nd of sept. I called and explained to them to check out their records because it was done twice. Well it will never happen again, I have closed my account which was being debited twice and also It caused me to bounce 3 huge checks, credit I am not worried, my husband has everything in his name and I am very happily married. If it takes seven years to drop from my credit report the amount that will be owed, so be it! I will never join a gym again I will buy equipment for my home to work out on now before I do that again.

It's perplexing! These people will try to charge you a rediculous amount of money if you miss one payment. I have excellent credit and if I miss a payment, it's because something went wrong not because I just don't want to pay!! Be careful with them. I had my monthly payments withdrawn from my checking account. One day, my bank re-issued debit cards due to security issues. With this change, Paramount was unable to process my payments because they used withdrawals from my debit card and not from the routing number of my checking account. They called incessently. I explained the problem and we came to the agreement that I would rather pay by mail to avoid any problem like this in the future. So, they sent me payment coupons and I began paying by check every month. Well, one day I'm reviewing my checking account on-line and I notice that they took the routing number off one of the checks that I sent with one of my payments and for months have been withdrawing my monthly dues without my consent. I'm not a lawyer, but is this not fraud or theft? So, you make one mistake and they treat you like a convict running for the border! If they make a mistake, and I think this is a huge one, somehow it will be justified. Something like this: "Well, we're all a little retarded here and we've asked our children what we should do, but they didn't know, so we just kept taking money illegally." I have worked with other creditors before and none of them are as stupid as these people!!!!!

I explained the problem and we came to the agreement that I would rather pay by mail to avoid any problem like this in the future. So, they sent me payment coupons and I began paying by check every month. Well, one day I'm reviewing my checking account on-line and I notice that they took the routing number off one of the checks that I sent with one of my payments and for months have been withdrawing my monthly dues without my consent. I'm not a lawyer, but is this not fraud or theft? So, you make one mistake and they treat you like a convict running for the border! If they make a mistake, and I think this is a huge one, somehow it will be justified. Something like this: "Well, we're all a little retarded here and we've asked our children what we should do, but they didn't know, so we just kept taking money illegally." I have worked with other creditors before and none of them are as stupid as these people!!!!!

I called them to give them my new account number, and they are STILL trying to run my payment with the cancelled card. I have to call them every month to take care of it, or they will charge exorbitant late fees even though it CLEARLY is not my fault. My day is already ruined just knowing that I have to call them AGAIN today. I suppose I will be doing this until my gym membership expires in March. I will not EVER sign another gym membership.

I contacted Paramount to pay off an old membership that was long forgotten by my hubby. I paid the amount off in full, and called back a day later to ask for a receipt. Not only did they blind transfer me all over the place, the refused to acknowledge my request. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was transferred to a voice mail, and was not provided an extension or anything.
These people have absolutely no customer service skills!

These guys are parasites. You cant get anything but misleading answers to your questions and there are a lot of unseen charges you have to deal with. On top of that their staff is very rude.Because of Paramount I will NEVER join Gold's Gym again. THank God my membership expired.

paramount is a joke. parmount harrassed me to get a $39.99 gym payment for french rivera in memphis, tn. the company couldn't get the money out of my account because i had cancelled all direct debits after my visa/debit got stolen. i told them i was getting a new account and i'd call when the new account info was avalable. a couple days pass, paramount still called and when i didn't answer the company's call.. they callled my brother looking for me... as if was trying to dodge paying $39.99. i had never been late paying.. never had a payment rejected.. and will never be a french rivera gym member once my membership is up. this company is bad news folks... they need to better train their employees.

Paramount Acceptance Corporation is by far the rudest company I have ever delt with! Their employees are
not helpfull at all, and were very offensive! I asked to speak with a manager and was directed to voicemail. The manager NEVER called me back!
