We had heard some less than positive things about Missionary Mall from friends who had shopped there, but the idea of a two-year guarantee and the great way the website talked about their product made it attractive to us. Our son was attending BYU at the time, so we drove from our home in Mesa to pick him up with the intention of doing some missionary shopping while there.

When my wife, son and I entered Missionary Mall we were a little concerned, as there were boxes everywhere and no one seemed all that interested in helping us. But we understand it's a small business and when inventory comes in, it can be a mess, so we didn't think too much of it. However, what did concern us was the lack of knowledge on the part of the staff on the products and clothing in general.

We have sent two missionaries out before this son, and we had always purchased them locally. The missionary store in our area is a little pricy on some things, but they know their stuff. We assumed Missionary Mall would be equally as knowledgeable but with a little lower price. That was not the case.

They had very little inventory in my son's sizes, which was a pretty standard size, and so we left empty handed and did our shopping once we got back home. Doubtful we will be back.

Hi All, My wife and I own MissionaryMall and I would like to apologize for the lack of inventory. Since last October, we have been really thrown for a loop with the massive influx of missionaries. Since we manufacture most of our own items to our very demanding specifications (if we sell normal "off the shelf" items, they just don't last and we end up replacing them on the guarantee). As you can imagine, it takes about 3-6 months for our suppliers to ramp up production to meet our needs so we are finally getting our stock to where it needs to be for the increased quantities of missionaries. I feel a huge relief to tell you that we are almost fully in stock on our Gold, Classic, and $99 suits, dress pants, shoes, ties, etc. etc. The only thing we are still waiting on is shirts, but they are on the way.

As for the replacement of shirts with ink stains, I am so sorry-- it is a "wear proof guarantee" meaning that we cover the shirt (or anything else purchased) if it wears out.

I was shocked! The store looked in disrepair and I was unsure if it was even opened. When we went in there were boxes everywhere. Everything we asked for was out of stock even though they just received a shipment: no shirts, no carry bag, no additional pants... the sales rep has a hard time answering questions. he said we could order and they would send the items to my son in the MTC. We ended up ordering two pants they had in stock that I will pick next week - it came to over $100. After we went to Mr Mac and received incredible professional service by a "pre-missionary" sales rep. He could answer all our questions and everything was in stock! I felt the prices were comparable - we got a nice suit with two slacks, four shirts, shoes, three ties, and a belt for $395. They also had coats, boots, luggage, socks, etc. I was so impressed with them after being so disappointed by Missionary Mall.

We really wanted to rate the Missionary Mall higher than a 2 but unfortunately, that is about all it deserves. They didn't have everything in stock when we went there so they said they would send it to the MTC. We had to keep hounding them to see if they had sent anything yet. Today, the day before our son leaves to Germany, they tell us that they don't have the pants he ordered 2 months ago so they have to issue a refund. On top of that the salesman we had evidently way oversold their 2 year warranty. He basically said that everything was covered on the clothes. Just take a picture of it and they will send the replacement. My son got some ink on his shirts at the MTC that wouldn't come out of some of the shirts. So we contacted the MM for replacements but low and behold we fnd that is not covered. I can't wait to see what else is not covered if/when we need to use the 2 year warranty.

We have 2 more missionaries coming up. Needless to say we will NOT be shopping at the Missionary Mall

Interesting how all the positive reviews for this business were written on the same day. I'd guess that the negative reviews would be the ones that would be a bit more accurate as they wouldn't be from employees and relatives of the owners.

First of all let me just say I am so glad that my son has five weeks before he leaves of his mission. We thought we were going to come away with everything he would need at missionary mall. Instead we walked out with two ties and two laundry bags. That's it!!! How can a store operate if they do not have in stock the following clothing that fits an average missionary. A suit, dress slacks, shoes, and socks. Nothing!! The salesman had know idea when these items would be coming in. I actually felt sorry for him having to explain to us that they don't have anything in a size 34 pants or a 40 regular jacket which is a pretty standard size. My son really did like the suit jacket with the flexing inside but what can can you do if you can't buy one. All in all how can they stay in business if they have nothing to sell you? Like i said good thing we still have five weeks to go to a regular store where there is items on the shelf to buy!!
My advice is to call ahead and ask if they have your size in stock.
Good luck!!!!

I absolutely could not stand the items I bought from this store. Every employee was incredibly rude and unhelpful. I even had a chance to meet the owner John and he was a jerk. These owners and management can not be trusted. They hike up the prices to increase their income. Their product is not worth what they sell it for. My son's belt broke in less then a year and there was nothing they would or "could" do about it even though they claim to have a two year warranty. Did I mention how it took 4 months to "special order" a pair of shoes for my son? By the time they came I had to send them over seas to the country he was serving in. I have turned people away several times, I recommend going to Mr. Mac and Men's Warehouse, they are all in a block of each other. You will have a much happier experience and not deal with loony toons of an owner and management. I don't understand how they are still in business, they are so dishonest!!!

If I had it to do all over again, I would have gone elsewhere. They had one suit in my sons size to choose from, and it was a brand they no longer carry, no shirts that fit him, We had spent the day looking around planning to pick up their package, They had less than half the stuff in the package in his size. We got shoes and some ties, only because by the time we arrived there we had exhausted all of our time. Their website makes their stuff sound amazing. I'd take a Stafford or VanHeusen shirt any day. Their brand looked like crap. Our salesman was wearing one and it was trashed and he said he only wears it once a week. and had had it for a little over 6 months. Their sales staff are obviously not commission, I couldn't drag any information out of them. I knew more than they did and i don't sell suits. Our next 4 sons will go to Mr Mac or JC Penney. I'm not looking to frequent this store again.
Both have fully stocked shelves, and helpful sales associates. When I bought my mission stuff years ago, I felt like I was getting the best I could possibly get. All of my stuff lasted the full 2 years and then some. My son felt like he got what was left on the rack at a clearance sale, at some store closing. Didn't have much to choose from except ties. And then kinda limited. They couldn't have found 10 shirts in my sons size in their store, and heaven forbid you'd be tall. We bought shirts at Penneys on sale and they where $10 cheaper per shirt. This stores guaruntee sounds great, Unless you leave the country on your mission. Then your parents have to send the replacements to you at their expense. Oh well, live and learn. Maybe by the time my next son is ready they will have a store that resembles their website.

Best wishes, at least they're trying......

Missionary Mall is a great place to shop and a great part of the community. I recently read an article about the owner donating clothing to help out missionaries in third world countries. I go to Missionary Mall because of the excellent staff and customer service and the great prices but I appreciate the fact they're a business with a big heart.

I've had three sons go to MissionaryMall to purchase their entire mission wardrobe. My husband also purchases his suits there. The quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The best thing about MissionaryMall is that they know and understand what is needed on a mission....ALL the sales people are recently returned from missions! They were very helpful and courteous....including giving us information on what we DIDN'T need or what we should wait to purchase until my sons arrived in the mission field.

My experience with Missionary Mall was absolutely fantastic. The clothing was made exlusively for missionary wear, the prices were the lowest I have found on all items on the missionary list, and the service was great. I was referred by some of our Ward Relief Society sisters. Missionary Mall is all about missionaries-not just mens clothing. I will continue to refer all my friends, relatives and ward members to Missionary Mall. I even bought a suit and some shoes for me.

It's really hard for me to buy "Commercialized Mormonism" when I found the exact same luggage set for $61 on Amazon and $99 at Target that Missionary Mall sells for $150. Makes me wonder about the other items they sell and how the people that run this business sleep at night knowing what they are doing and who their ripping off. Just what you want to be.. a greenie Utah missionary unpacking everything pre-packaged that has a Missionary Mall Logo on it. Shop around buyers and don't be taken in by this cheap one-stop shop.

This is a great store because everything they sell they warranty for the length of the mission. The prices are comparable and you get the warranty. Also, you don't have to shop around. They have just about everything a missionary needs!

You COULD go to Mr. Mac or Mens Wearhouse and spend $500 on the two suits you would need to serve a mission. And they would probably be great suits, perfect for a member of a boardroom or a manager. But, if you are looking for cheap, rugged suits, stay away from these places and try Missionary Mall. A missionary doesn't want to have to slow down because he is worried about ruining the expensive suit his parents bought, he wants to go crazy and be able to haul furniture in a full suit. Check out the suits here and savea buck!

Going on a mission can be extremely expensive. Families can spend over a thousand dollars on clothes and equipment just in the preperation phase. Missionary Mall takes some of the pain out of the process by giving you a conveinient and affordable alternative. You can get almost everything you will need here and can rest assured you aren't getting ripped off. Check out the prices on their website and compare to wherever else you are going. You will save time and money here!

Although this store is small, it has some of the coolest missionary stuff around! They even have a little corner for the Sisters called the Sister Corner. Their sales team is non-pushy and knows their stuff!
