If you want to over eat on American Chinese food this is your place. All you can eat = Not good food. I love Chinese food but this place just does not compare to others. It is the McDonalds of Chinese food. The chicken balls are good though, but not sure if that would be classified as American food? Kind of a dirty place to eat as well, doesn't seem to be well looked after

PROS: lots of food
CONS: below average

My husband and I are definitely fans of this place. The food is great, always plenty of it, and a great variety. Sometimes chinese places are really hit or miss... but you've gotta hit this place...

We realized that it could be a little pricey for dinner, when all you really get is the shrimp... so we always made it a point of going for lunch.

I have been coming here since I was little, I used to go with my father almost once a week. The mongolian Barbeque is to die for, and the salad bar is spectacular! Eat all the awesome food you want, for cheap. I lately had been going to another one a little further away from me for the all you can eat crab legs, which are an every night thing, but tonight I am eating at my old resting spot ;-). Treat yourself, you'll see why there are so many great reviews!

Pros: The food is awesome!

Cons: Gets pretty busy only cause it's amazing!

★★★★★

It's truly interesting reading the negative comments on here obviously made by jealous competitors! The truth is that this buffet is the highest quality and tastiest for the money! The main time that I go here is on fridays. Their friday dinners include all you can eat prime rib, butterflyed fried shrimp, steak, salmon, as well as a seemingly endless array of all the delicious Chinese dishes that you can eat. And their desserts, for a buffet, are scrumptious! Hint: Arrive there BEFORE 4:00 pm and you can get the dinner (which starts at 4;00) for the lunch price! This includes their prime rib dinner buffet on fridays! As an expert on Chinese cuisine, I'm telling you that this is a deal that you can't beat (especially if you get the senior lunch price)! Bon Apetit!

Pros: The selection and quality of the food is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!

Cons: Sometimes parking is a little scarce

★☆☆☆☆

the only thing edible is the mongolian bbq, but even there you have to be careful. this place is scary!

Pros: none

Cons: scary food, screaming kids

I try to eat at the Chinese Gourmet at least once a week and they are always very attentive and friendly. The food is not really gourmet, but it's pretty darn good. The place is always clean and the manager checks in on you from time to time.

Pros: Clean and good variety

Cons: big crowds

★☆☆☆☆

While its nice to have a bufffet style of food, sometimes quality is better than quantity. Depending on the day of the week and the type of food served will depend alot on how you experience this place. The food quite often has been sitting for long periods, and often is under cooked. Frequently some dishes like the vegtables are sour tasting.

The food of edible. Although if other options are available, take them. The staff seem to be poor english speakers and irritated that they have to assist you. The best part is the mongolian BBQ section as you can at least be sure your getting somewhat fresh food.

Not recommended if possible to avoid, do so.

Pros: Mongolian BBQ

Cons: Everything else! Mangement does not seem to care about customers needs!

★★☆☆☆

I have gone to the Chinese Gourmet alot of times, and some times are better then others. So times you get seated right away and other times it take time. The food is ok, some days are better then other days. I do think they over charge for kids though. I think kids under 3 should be free. The bathrooms are not always clean. The servers have much to be desired. There again some are better then others.

Pros: food is good most of the time,

Cons: customer service and parking are not that great

This is my first review of any restaurant but not my first chinese buffet by far. I used to frequent another local buffet for the crab legs, which are kinda small, but after the first time at the Chinese Buffet I have been back several times. The price is comparable to any other but the variety is far more extensive. They have quite a large salad selection and Mongolian BBQ section. I try to go most fridays for the roast beef and Whitefish. The roast beef does tend to have a lot of fat but you can go back for as much as you want. It has a nice texture and flavor too, especially with the plentiful Au Jus and horseradish sauces. The Whitefish is very tender and has a nice flavor to it. Their fried butterfly shrimp is very tasety also. I will be going there tonight as a matter of fact. There are long lines at peak dinner times but that is just a testiment to the quality of the place. Hundreds of people can't all be wrong.

Pros: price, conveinience, quality

Cons: long lines

We've eaten here once in the time we've lived in Utah. The prices are reasonable for an adult dinner and the fact that you're getting such a large buffet full of options. The food is about what I'd consider average. It's edible, there's a couple good dishes, but it's not the best I've had either.

It's what you'd expect at an American-Chinese buffet.

Would eat here again, but it's not on the top of my list.

The servers were slightly impatient with us, as it was closing within an hour, but the greeting at the front door was polite and cheerful.

Pros: Cheap meal, Filling, Variety

Cons: Not super delicious

★★★☆☆

The food there is quite tasty, and always leaves me satisfied. However, the prices continue to rise for admission each time I go there, and are getting steep. The atmosphere is also getting worse, unless you speak spanish and enjoy being sandwiched in a room with wall-to-wall mexican customers and employees.

Pros: Good Food

Cons: Lame atmosphere, too few legal residents of the U.S.A. inside

We have been going here for lunch for years, along with a remodel came some bad service and longer lines. You used to able to walk up to any bar and get your food and now it seems like you have to stand and wait for everything. Food is still pretty good, it used to be fun in there and now it just seems like the fun is gone, and the servers act put out that you might need something. The host and cashiers seem a little rude too.

Pros: Cheap, Lots of food

Cons: Parking, Service, Long lines

★★★★☆

If you are looking for a quick, fast, and reasonable meal this is the place. There is a variety of items for all diners. The stir fry line is worth the wait. This is a yummy stir fry which you get to choose what you want cooked.

Pros: Fast, Variety of items

Cons: Slow service

★☆☆☆☆

This is can hardly be classified as "cuisine". I would rather eat frozen chinese from the local grocery store. The food was bland, dry and all in all boring. If they serve chinese in a school lunch, this would be it. I am always amazed at what Utahans classify as good retaurants. This restaurant would not be able to stay open more than a couple months in any other state.

Cons: overcrowded, bad food, cafeteria ambience

★★★★★

Good value and good food. The staff is very eager to please.

Pros: good food, great selection, helpful staff

Cons: noisy

★★★★★

I really like this restaurant. It has so many different selections, very good service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Very fun!

Pros: many selections, all types of food

Cons: expensive

This restraunt has a wide variety of food to suit everyone's taste. Mix and match type set-up. Food is great tasting. Price is great. Don't have to wait for long in a long line.

Pros: Inexpensive, Large Variety, Great tasting

Cons: Noisey, crowed at times, Good for kids

★☆☆☆☆

If your gut hangs over your belt you'll be happy here. "Quanity" this buffet has, but "Quality" it most certainly lacks! Yuck!!!!

Pros: Fairly Clean, Lot's o' food

Cons: Cattle Herd Place, Bad "Las Vegas" feel

★★★★★

I love this place. It has many selection to choose from. I love to take my kids there because they can pick and choose whatever they want to eat. For the price, it's definitely worth it. For the food, it's ok.

★★★★☆

Has a great variety of foods. Not always the very best food, but enough good food to make it worthwhile. The Mongolian BBQ makes it all worthwhile!

Pros: Eat what you like., Eat all you want., Mongolian cooking.

Cons: Warehouse Atmosphere, Floors collect food

★★★★★

Not quite your traditional chinese resturant, but it has tons of flavor, varitety of food and it is reasonably priced.

Pros: lots of parking, inexpensive,, great tasting food

★★☆☆☆

When the China Gourmet opened they had great food. It lasted for about 2 years and has been declining as I have watched fewer and fewer ASIANS preparing the food. The food is not as good as it has been and I have Decided that much Better food is available at the Golden Isle @ 700 West and 5400 South.

Pros: Buffet Style, easy to find, economy

Cons: Quality
