Fairly good selection of Asian groceries. Prices are very, very high and service was non existent. Many Lands in Provo has much cheaper prices, but not as wide a selection of items. Each of the items I was looking for was at least a dollar cheaper at Many Lands and the store clerk was much more helpful and friendly.

Even though the market has great oriental products and curries, this story is hilarious. When I went in tonight to get the usual, they had loud techno music playing. It was so obnoxious that I was tempted to walk out and come in another time. Instead, I thought I'd kindly ask if they wouldn't mind changing the music. They gave me a blank stare and turned it up. The owners have always been rude and unhelpful over the years, but I've ignored it. I left the full cart and decided to shop somewhere else from now on.

A very good selection of stuff. I found the brand of Sushi Rice that I prefer. (Nishiki) and gari.. The lady was kinda of helpful.. but did, after a while, help me find what I was looking for. 15 lbs of rice and a bottle of gari was about 23.00.. Not hateful. I think the Service in Chaos (in Provo) is better) but, the selection here is better. A wide variety of Chinese, Japanese, Korean (as best as I could read the labels) and other oriental foods. Go at least once, just to gawk.

Not only did the First Oriental Market have a wide selection, it made me feel as though I were in Japan. If you're from Japan or Korea, and feeling homesick, shopping at the First Oriental Market can be a calming experience because of all of the familiar products.

1st oriental Market is a great little oriental store with great customer service. They have a gigantic selection of oriental foods, as well as some food that is commonly used in Hawaii, such as lau lau, poi and Hawaiian Sun drinks. It is fun to just browse the isles looking at the great variety of food, but their prices are very competitive. I'd suggest trying 1st Oriental Market first before trying anyplace else.

PROS: Great selection and prices
CONS: None

Their kimchee is the best! $10 for a very big bottle! highly recomend! They have all kinds of Asian foods there. Also a box of big crabs just for $6. biggest asian grocery store is the provo-orem area. free parking. Location is a little bit far away from BYU though.
