Lamb's is Utah's oldest continually operating restaurant. The restaurant has remained unchanged since 1939. The booths, tables, wainscot, back bar, counters, counter stools, light fixtures and steam table, which are still in use today, came from a restaurant previously located on Main Street, known as Gunn's Cafe. One notable exception, the chairs in the main dining room, were imported from Vienna by Mr. Lamb in the 1920's. The antiques which decorate the restaurant have been collected from around the world.
Lamb's Grill Cafe is a fun experience.

The breakfast here is amazing! The atmosphere takes you back in time- you won't even feel like you're in the 21st century anymore! Eggs are delicious, and the servers are lots of fun!

A great lunch with very good service
by hushasha40
A friend and I stopped by for a quick lunch. We ordered drinks [available only after 12 noon--ask for the alcoholic beverage menu] and I ordered the onion soup gratinee and the salad shrimp louie. My friend ordered the beef liver. The soup and salad were both large and very delicious. My friend ate all of the liver and said that it was excellent. The meal came with delicious sesame bread and butter. Despite a very good sized crowd, the staff, while busy, was especially professional and friendly. I would definitely return to this centrally located restaurant.
Pros: Great atmosphere, good portions, friendly staff
Cons: can be crowded

Great breakfast
by CSMobileUser2
We ate there on a Saturday morning for breakfast. The service was great, the food was lovely and tasty, and the atmosphere is old fashioned fancy. I loved it. Great breakfast without the typical sticky breakfast diner hazards. I highly recommend.

step back into the 30's. go there. the food is consisitantly good as is the service. the ambiance can't be beat. the only downside is you can't park on the street easily anymore due to trax.
Pros: ambiance, food, great service by an experienced team of waitresses from another age :)
Cons: lack of parking due to trax

We love the Lambs Grill... They have been here forever but unless you are a "regular" you don't know about the wonderful things they do! We try to get by as often as possible,(GREAT OMLETES) but so many of our friends have not been in. FIND THIS PLACE AND GIVE IT A TRY!
Great food, super service and the place is "old time SLC"...

Great Breakfast! One of the few places, in town, that can make a perfect dippy egg. The lunch specials are usually delicious and a good value. The soups always impress. You can?t get near this place for breakfast on the weekend after about 10am so get up early it will be worth it. Right off of trax!
Pros: Classic food
Cons: Service can be slow

Consistently bad service
by vegar
I've come here five or six times for breakfast now, and every time the service has been horrible. The first few times I came with my job, so I thought it was because we were a big party (8-15 people) and they were short on servers. But this morning I came with two friends, and there were four waiters on six tables. The food (eggs and bacon) took 40 minutes to get to our table, I didn't get silverware, had to ask for refill on my coffee and water and never got a check in the end.
The food is ok, but I've had much better breakfasts at places like Ruth's or the Park Cafe, or the Blue Plate.
I do not understand where Lamb's have their reputation from, and I strongly advise anybody NOT to go there, at least for breakfast. There are so many other nice and welcoming places to eat breakfast in this city. I know that I'm never going to pay for food at Lamb's again, and I hope you wont either.

Good breakfast in the heart of downtown
by fishfreak
I have been to Lamb's cafe several times for Saturday breakfast and I have always left happy.
The service and food are both very good. The French Toast is perfectly cooked, crispy without being dry. Bacon is very good as well. Since I have only been there for breakfast I can't really comment on the lunch or dinner menu, but friends have told me that the food is good regardless of the time of day.
Parking on Saturday mornings is not a problem, though I could certainly see how it would be during weekday lunch hour. Its in a neat old building; you'll enjoy the scenery as much as the food!
Pros: Good food and service, neat building
Cons: None really come to mind. Bathrooms are kinda small...

In a day and age when excellent cusomer service is a thing of the past Lamb's grill cafe has it mastered. I have been to Lamb's grill cafe no less than 50 times. I am always treated with courtesy and respect. The food is always fresh and satisfying. With the white linen table cloths and the uniformed staff it's like going back in time 85 years. I recomend the liver and onions with strawberry cheesecake for dessert. EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! EXCELLENT! Full of ambiance.
Pros: Great food, Great service, Very clean
Cons: No parking, Downtown, Near Trax
