After a cross-country move from South Carolina to Utah this past March (2009), I was not looking forward to the long process, (often "trial and error") of finding a good vet. Fortunately, I asked around and multiple pet owners suggested Burch Creek.
I took Chance (my prior animal rescue of 6 years) in to Burch Creek and was completely surprised to find the doctor on the ground examining Chance, as he is skittish on those metal examining tables. The doctor spent an entire hour with us and physically checked Chance out and spoke with me about the pro's and con's of various medications. At no point was I pressured into buying meds from the clinic, which is quite non-standard. In fact, the doc offered money saving tips and holistic methods for Chance's arthritis.
I also had to put Chance in the kennel for 2 weeks, the first time he had been in the kennel since I took him from the animal shelter. I was so worried about his well being, that they offered to board him in the kennel with recovering surgery patients. This made Chance's experience less stressful overall.
The one negative comment I would add is that the clinic misplaced my sweatshirt and dog blanket that I had placed in the kennel with Chance. Because of the fair number of technicians, my instructions about the sweatshirt & blanket (basically that they were mine and I needed them back) was not passed on to the other techs. It took about a week after pick up to get Chance's dog blanket back and I never saw the sweatshirt again.
Overall, however, the place is just great and the staff is truly caring. Sure it's a business, but you would almost never know it with the top notch staff they provide!

When we took our little 5 lb Papillon girl in after a car hit her, she was immediately taken from my arms and stabilized. Her condition was critical and her prognosis was not good. Dr Klar saw her initially and was compassionate and supportive. Opal had to stay there every day for almost a week with several checkups after that and had the opportunity to be cared for by every doctor and technician. However, it was Dr. Sanderlin who saw her the most. He always took time out of his busy schedule to see her, spend time with her, and examine her thoroughly to make sure she was recovering well. He was so compassionate and gentle with her and most importantly he never doubted her strong will to live.

We took our dog there initially because they had animal rescue for small dogs, which is uncommon in Utah, the land of big dogs. They don't do that now, but they have a very knowledgable staff and every visit we've had over the years has been fruitful. We've never had a complaint about promptness, level of care or professionalism in the several years we've been going there

Since our dog is our only child, my husband and I are VERY particular with anything concerning him. Moving here from Chicago left us uneasy with having to find a new vet to care for our baby. But Dr. Klar has left us with nothing but exceptional things to say about him. We couldn't be more pleased. Thank you, Dr. Klar

Dr. Matt Klar's kindness made all the difference when we had to have our cat, BBK, euthanized. Matt's gentleness made all the difference when coupled with his expertise, and we left better for the experience than we expected to be. His staff were sensitive and kind through the process and reached out to us in extraordinary and appropriate way in the days following the procedure. We are grateful and remain in awe that they did so muc so well to support our own humanity in a difficult time.
