Volkers hails from itty bitty Kamas in Summit County. But this bakery makes a big impression in SLC. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone in SLC who hasn't had something made from Volkers or at least heard of them. They are an institution at the farmer's Market in downtown Salt Lake every Saturday morning, with all their artisan breads and dipping oils to sample for free. Volkers specialty is creating gourmet bread... not your run of the mill (no pun intended), french, sourdough variety. Their bread & butter (the puns just keep coming) are of the Italian flatbread and fluffy, garlic-laced focaccia variety. Whatever the case, you'll have a hard time finding a bread you don't like. My suggestion to you is to go to the Farmer's Market and take a taste drive of all their various breads and take home the ones you like. Better have a big bread basket!

PROS: many varieties to choose from, focaccia great for sandwiches
CONS:
