Alexandria Old Town Dental

A friend strongly recommended Dr. Phan & I saw her several times. Three problems: First, 2 appointment times were changed (1/2 hr later) or made incorrectly?? - I had the appointment cards that showed the times. Meant an extra half hour in the waiting room - twice. Second, I like having people enjoy their work, but I don't like hearing lots of laughter just down the hall when I'm in the middle of dental work (this occurred on 2 or 3 visits). And several times someone on staff came in for personal conversation with the dental assistant during my procedures - this happened on 2 visits. Dr. Longman came in during one visit (work in my mouth had not begun) and yelled out the window to another staff member in the parking lot (5 floors down). Third, I didn't appreciate the dentist's talking to me during the procedures - including personal information I didn't want. I kept going through 3 visits, maybe 4, because it's hard to match a dentist on an insurance provider's list with anyone you know who can make a recommendation - otherwise, it's just picking a name on a list. During this time, I gave a lukewarm recommendation about this office to another friend, who then went to a different dentist in that office, and she's been pleased. So 2 others feel a lot better about that dental practice than I do.

Dr. Goldhush was great! Very gentle! The front desk staff, Fallan is very nice and efficient. I highly recommend this office! I was scheduled right away when i called for the appointment. And I was seen the next morning!

I have been coming to Dr. Longman for over 30 years. Hes the best!! I enjoy all my visits! The front desk staff Fallan and Lyndsie are very sweet! Cheerful and pleasant everytime! They are very knowledgeable and helpful with my billing account, also scheduling my appointments.

I have been going to Alexandria Old Town Dental for over 10 years and I find them to be very professional. Quality dental care is often expensive and not fully covered by insurance.That's why they always tell patients the cost of their care before treatment. My care has always been excellent from all three dentists at the practice whom I have seen at various appointments.

This is now Eddie Longman, DDS Alexandria Old Town Dental so I can say nothing bad about the previous owner (Katzman Mona), but I can tell you that you should not go to these people. They are terrible in every way. I had an unsatisfactory experience with my cleaning, basically afterwards, I felt like I hadn't actually had one. Then, they told me to come back for the two fillings I needed and told me what my share would be. When I came back, and after the treatments, they told me I owed them more than double what they had told me before. I would NEVER have come back at those outrageous prices. On top of that, the dentist who did my fillings screwed up on my left side because now it hurst when I bite down. Now I have to find another dentist to fix it, because I will never ever go back to them for anymore work. These people are crooks, and at best, mediocre at what they do.

I live in Alexandria, Virginia and Im very happy I have a local dentist who does such a great job. The office is located in a great part of town so if you dont walking it is in quite a convenient area of Old Town Alexandria. Ive only gone to this office for cleaning but they could be the best cleanings Ive ever had done. The doctor and hygienist do a magnificent and thorough job. You will never feel rushed in this office.

If you're looking for someone that does a thorough job of making sure you're teeth are healthy, I'd would definitely recommend this dentist. She's very personable and is down to earth. She will recommend what needs to be done, and is very doesn't try to cause unneeded pain (for those that do not enjoy visiting the dentist).

I'm not too familiar with the prices as I have a dental plan that covers some of it.

Parking in their lot is difficult because it's so small. I recommend parking on one of the side streets (such as Duke St.) if you can't find another spot.
