Ratings_icons I Got My Energy Back!

D M.

Dr Rye completed two root canals on me and I happily noticed a significant decrease in occurrence of headaches. For several months I had experienced frequent headaches that I had attributed to sinus issues. I also had off-and-on aches and sensitivity in one tooth, but I chalked that up to sinus because sinus issues had been the source of toothaches in the past. After the corner of the troubling tooth broke off, I had finally decided to make an appointment with Dr. Ryes Office. The pain turned out to be from an infected tooth which required a root canal. Root canals are not the most pleasant of experiences and your finding a second infected tooth that wasnt yet causing me pain certainly did not double my pleasure! I have to say, though, the procedures were worth it because the headaches are basically gone. I also have had more energy than Ive had for months. I couldnt figure out that I all of a sudden was doing or eating differently that was boosting my energy until I realized it had to be the tooth infections were gone. It makes sense that battling infections on a daily basis would drain ones energy. Im sleeping better too! This may be because I have the energy to take on more activities so I am genuinely tired at the end of the day. I learned two critical things from this whole experience 1) the health of my teeth directly impacts the well-being of my whole body & 2) a dental check-up at least once a year is smart even if there are no visible issues. Thank you, Dr. Rye and your wonderful team for the pleasant, knowledgeable and skillful service.

Ratings_icons Thank you for Improving my overall health

D W.

Thank you and Annie for improving my overall health. Prior to having my first deep cleaning/scaling with Annie, I was having constant headaches as if I was on the verge of having a stroke. I was having chest pains and even noticing changes in my memory. I was also beginning to have issues with my eyes which may have been due to high blood pressure, resulting from my dental problems. Immediately after my first cleaning all of my symptoms went away, they just went away. I felt so good that I shared that information with my family and friends. Ironically, a few days later, I saw on the news that a dentist can tell a patient more about their future health than their physician can, or something to that effect. Then, I recalled Annie explaining to me how the plaque in your mouth can get into the blood stream and affect your heart.

I will never know the depth of my illness, but looking back on how I felt before and after the deep cleaning/scaling, I truly believe that I was very sick and on a downward spiral. I can not thank you and Annie enough for saving me from a preventable devastating illness or worst, and for making my life so much better. Again, thank you Dr. Rye and Annie.

Ratings_icons Very Impressive

Anonymous

My experience was a pleasant one. I was interested in learning what my options were (my teeth are getting long!) and I discovered there's many options some of which make good sense. I had no idea that I could practically have a new young smile so I left with much to consider. I didn't mind the price of my consult though the cost of the work is an investment.

Dr. Rye knows his stuff. He is the most knowledgeable dentist I have ever seen so I know if I go forward that I'll be getting the best in the business. I was very impressed and appreciated his thoughtful and patient manner. If I get this work done, I'll certainly go with Dr. Rye.

Ratings_icons Almost afraid to tell you about secret love affair with my dental office!

Anonymous

Just kidding. But we all have had the experience of a shove in and out of a waiting room asked to fill out paper work without even acknowledging your name and looking up at you. Then pushed into a chair and left to stare at a wall while waiting for a dentist to drop by for a split second. By the time you finally get to talking about what is important to you he is gone like the wind. Not so in this office. I will tell you my experience was a breath of fresh air. Let me start by saying that the moment you walk in to the office you think you are going to be fluffed. And well you are but the prices a reasonable considering the quality and care you receive. I have paid the same at the no frills offices. Let's be honest here how many dental offices actually sit and talk to you first find out what you want and help you understand how important your teeth really are. Did you know that loose teeth are a sign of periodontal disease, and you are at greater risk of a heart attack? I tell every one that now. After we talked we went back to a very high tech room complete with TVs that are over your head to watch. I had digital xrays and other records taken all computerized. What surprised me was that I was taken back by how much care was taken to cover all my care. I came back for a second visit even, to give the office enough time to review all the information and xrays and come up with my options. I can say that the office filed with my insurance. I had to pay a bit more but I do it happily knowing that I got to choose my office. He not a dentist looking for patients by signing up for insurances. He focuses on patients that care about the cosmetic as well as how long it will last because it was done right the first time. There aren't too many offices that take insurance any more anyways, they will file but not be on any list. If they are on the list of insurances there is a reason. They are hurting for new patients or they are fresh out of dental school. No offence but I like to know that who I choose is high on the cosmetic experience. Really what does it matter if they do take your insurance, for the money it gets you a crown for the year and two cleanings. I want to know what is going on in my mouth I want to know what my options are and if I just fix this tooth will I be back here in a week or two to get another one. This has happened in past to me, I go in he fixes the one I said bothers me and then blows off the other stuff. Had I known I would have saved my self the time and had it done all at once. I would have gone a step further and been sedated, because well, it is just a nicer way to have my dental work done. What I mean by sedated, a little blue pill that I take an hour before my appointment and then every few hours that I am in the chair or something like that I don't remember a thing so I am not clear on how many I had. Sorry for my rant but I have to say it was so nice. Dr Rye is in great standing with specialists in the area and he is great at getting the results you want. He is a perfectionist at his work and his staff is top notch. They are way beyond the typical and very knowledgeable with up to date information. He is very gentle. Loved the laughing gas. for my cleanings. Couldn't feel a thing when numbing, heard he actually spends the money on the good gel. The staff turn over is non-existent that is a good sign too. Hate it when you fall in love with your Hygentist only to find out 6 months later she is gone. I have seen a few leave to have a baby but come right back. They all really love what they are doing. So the office well I can explain or you could just go to his web site and see pictures. The parking is easy not an issue at all.

Ratings_icons Great but very expensive

Dr. Rye does exceptional work on crowns and other cosmetic dental procedures. However, I would not recommend him as your every day dentist, he is very expensive and both he and his staff can be quite rude to patients over time.

Ratings_icons Dr. Gordon Rye Restored My Faith In Dentistry

Pamela H.

I have been going to Dr. Rye since 1994 and believe me when I walked into his office for my initial consultation, he was going to have his hands full to restore my teeth. I had extreme bone loss, gum loss, a front upper tooth that was actually dead from a childhood injury. The tooth was so bad, it was rotating and had been horribly covered with a rembrandting to cover its dark discoloration. Due to all the bone and gum loss, my teeth were very sensitive to any type of procedures, even to cleanings. Dr. Rye is not only the best dentist in the United States, he's is an artist with his dentistry. I spent years going to other dentists, that only seem to make matters worse. Such an example was a root canal that left me with a terrible infection and another root canal that was so bad that the tooth along side the treated tooth was now damaged due to misplacement of the material used in the root canal. Therefore, another dentist ended up extracting this particular tooth and a bridge was put in it's place. Trust me when I say I had no faith in dentists, until the day I met Gordon Rye. Dr. Rye gave me back my confidence and smile, and one that I'm extremely proud to reveal. He is a completely pain-free dentist, as well are his hygienists. Dr. Rye has state of the art equipment and specializes in all the latest procedures of dentistry. He makes time for each and everyone of his patients as though each is his only patient. He takes time to personally call his patients after all invasive procedures to ensure everything is okay. I retired, moving to Missouri, about a year ago and hated the thought of losing Dr. Rye. In fact, I have flown back for an appointment just to have a regular teeth cleaning. If this isn't complete faith and trust in your dentist, I don't know what else it would be called. His staff is the best and will do whatever is necessary to help you with insurance claims, get a quick appointment for those painful emergencies; not to forget to mention the most professional and thoughtful staff a dentist could ever hope to represent him. Dr. Rye also has a parrot in his office, named Leo, who I came to love and would parrot sit at the drop of a hat. Leo was my little buddy and I treasured every-time I brought him home with me. It was very hard to leave my little friend; however, I do manage to get back to Fairfax and I always make it a point to stop in the office to see Dr. Rye, his staff and Leo. If you want the best in dentistry, I highly recommend Dr. Gordon Rye and his team of professionals. You will be proud of his artistry, his expertise, his knowledge and his complete attention to your needs. You will want to recommend him to all your family, friends and co-workers. He truly is the BEST IN EVERY ASPECT.

Ratings_icons High Quality Dental Care with a Price List that Goes with Its Reputation.

Selene N. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,348

I have been seeing Dr. Rye since 1999, when my friend introduced him to me. I highly recommend this dentist for his quality work, knowledge, and care. However, they are not in any insurance network that I know, and their fees are higher than the usual and customary charges the insurance companies will reimburse for out-of-network dental services. Therefore, they are not for price-conscientious people. However, I would rather pay the premium prices and get the quality care I deserve. Dr. Rye is not only a dentist, but also an endodontist. This allows him to perform additional services without having to refer the patient to someone else. He is very gentle and makes me less nervous in the chair. He also makes sure that I go through the least amount of pain possible. Dr. Rye will not lure you to perform services you don't need. He gives you options and let you make your own decision. The office can also work with you in terms of financing. The hygienists and the receptionists are also very pleasant to work with. The hygienists not only clean the teeth, but perform a thorough 3-point exam on every tooth. Their office does not officially open until 8:30 am to answer phone calls, but they have appointment time starting at 7:10 am. It is great because I can book an early morning appointment, and still get to work in time. When necessary, they can also arrange Saturday emergencies. The office has the most advanced equipment and supplies (how about German Chocolate flavored polish for teeth cleaning?), and Dr. Rye sends his people to continuous training for the most current technology and techniques. He has a pet parrot Leo that talks a lot when in a good mood. The waiting area is large and comfortable, but I advise making an appointment as early in the day as you can, because the later appointments tend to be delayed due to his thoroughness. It is a stand-alone building and there is ample parking.

PROS: Quality service and care, best technology/techniques, friendly employees.
CONS: High prices, slipping appointment times later in the day.
