Bonefish Grill is one of the few "nice restaurants" in Western Prince William County...a place where you take company or go for a nice, quiet meal. Their seafood selection usually has nice variety, and for the everyday fish items, you can choose from four tasty grilling sauces. Their daily fish specials are always worth a look, and are usually quite good. They also have a nice selection of sides (the mashed potatoes are excellent). Appetizers are quite good, as are the caesar salads (with real anchovies, on request). They have a fairly good wine selection. Also, for the non-fish fan, they have good cuts of steak, as well as chicken dishes (they're owned by the same folks who run Outback Steakhouse). Service is quite good. On Friday and Saturday evenings, you'll definitely want reservations, as this place is quite popular. My only quibble is that they should try to offer more fish that is sustainably harvested, rather than fish that are overharvested from rivers and oceans, and on the brink of no return (sea bass, for one). Also, I don't understand why they don't try to serve wild salmon...the salmon they serve is farmed Atlantic salmon, which is utterly inferior in taste and texture, and isn't so great for the environment, either. It would be good if the chain could promote sustainable fisheries by selling fish that aren't overharvested or farmed. But there are enough options on the menu to choose fish that are harvested sustainably, and are quite tasty to boot. Prices range from appr. $15-27 per entree.
