Richmond American Homes Of Virginia

I moved into a home built by Richmond American in 2000. I believe I am the third owner. There is always the new home glow when you buy a home and then you see the real quality when you live in the home. We spent nearly 1/2 million thinking we were getting an incredible home. Not so. The biggest problem with this home is the flooring. The master bedroom, kitchen and hallway have annoying squeeks and creeks. I always wake my wife in the morning by walking to the bathroom. I try to find a path that has no noise but there is none to be had. It is obvious that RA tried to cut corners and speed build during the market boom just to sell homes. They seem to show little care for the quality of the home. Unfortunately the 1st owners didn't push RA for repairs OR the poor quality revealed itself after the first year. At any rate, I can't afford to rip out the flooring to have it redone but I will never buy a RA home again. Buyer beware!

I have heard a lot of stories from my friends that they build homes fast but you have a lot of issues once you move in. Sometimes they take care of things for you but sometimes you are on your own. They are not as good as some other ones.
