I love this place!! When you walk in the front door you are greeted by a cheerful voice and told to sit wherever you like, then the service is great too!! \r

Most of what they serve is prepared from scratch, but while you wait

I went here on a Tuesday night with a friend and we were the only two people in the restaurant. You would think the service would be quicker, which is one of the reasons I dropped a star.\r

The kim bop was pretty good as an appetizer

Anyone who truly loves korean food knows that the best places look pretty shady from the outside, and this place does not disppoint! I had the Hae-mul tang which is a sort of Korean-style bouillabaisse. They do it just right, hot on the table made with all fresh fish... unbelieveable taste and great value. This is the best korean restaurant on this side of the water (stay away from Military Highway!) If you like typical korean food, here's your chance to try something off the mainstream and authentic. Mogopshida!

Pros: GREAT food and not your typical bulgogi-rice place!

Cons: It's a little hidden

Who am I?
An ardent foodie that has travelled the world and eaten almost all ethnic foods, in copious amounts! I am always after the best ethnic restaurants. This search is all about the taste and nothing to do with cheesy decor or fake personalities.

Korean food in the south?
This is my first time in V.Beach, and I did not want to get sucked into the typical tasteless and creativeless lackluster fare typical of American beaches. We decided to check out a Korean restaurant. This place is tucked away, and if not looked at carefully, it looks closed.

Looks can be deceiving
The owners of the restaurant were very friendly and took to our order immediately. The fried dumplings were delicious and definately home made. The kalbi (Korean grilled/broiled beef ribs) were very good. The portion was bigger than I expected and the flavor went down to the bones. My girlfriend had the dol sot bi bim bap (stone cooked rice dish) which was also good, but not necessarily great.

The great tasting dinner was balanced nicely with a spicy Korean soap opera on the satellite TV transmission broadcast on multilpe TVs and a multi-speaker sound system....If you JUST planned on having dinner, you might not want to start watching the soap operas...you will become addicted and eat slower just to finish the episode (subtitles included).

This place definately looks unassuming on the outside, and the inside to a certain extent, but if you have a hankerin' for Korean food, or have never tried it, definately give this a whirl, you will not be dissapointed.

If you have never eaten Korean food, try the following:
-fried dumplings
-kalbi
-bulgogi
-meul nang myun (cold noodles-best in summertime)

(these all sound weird, and very alien in nature, but the best of the best as far as the Korean food experience for Americans goes)
