I went to this salon to get bangs. When I arrived I explained I wanted a simple long side swept bang starting below my nose I even had a picture. Before I knew it she hacked off a good inch above my nose! Needless to say I was not happy and when I said they were short she implied that the picture that I showed her was that way!! Umm really? Overall I'm not happy I'm stuck with something I especially said I did not want!! Beware of this salon stay away!!!!

I had an appointment last Saturday morning with Kathleen Owens. I just went for a trim, I had a 50% Off coupon (for 1st time clients) and before she did anything to my hair I asked the price for the service. She told me that wash, cut and blow dry all together would cost 55$ (which I found very reasonable, because I had just a blow dry before in another place and it was almost 40$, for my medium length hair) I explained very detailed to her that I had a very bad experiences before with hair cuts, and she listened to me very carefully and did just exactly what I wanted. She cut very little from the tips of my hair, then she did the blow dry and also finished with the flat iron. I left there looking great. It has been 4 days and my hair still looks like I just left the salon. Very light, shiny and silky. Kathleen did a very good job with my hair, and the discount was a big plus!. Bottom line, it was a good experience, and all the staff was nice to me. I am definitely coming back.

I have been a client of Outlooks since I moved to Stafford 9 years ago. I have always received prompt and professional service. Outlooks only uses high quality products and the staff are well trained. My stylists for most of those 9 years has been Kathleen. Her expert knowledge of cutting techniques and color have me looking and feeling glamorous every time I walk out the door. The staff are always friendly and courteous. This is one of the few places left around where customer service really means something. I recommend Outlooks without hesitation.

Love this place, they do a very good job and always make sure they understand what you want, and then they make sure you understand what they can possibly do, and don't start until you and the stylist agree on something that you love and that is physically possible for the stylist to do and won't destroy the health of your hair. I had an appointment with Cat yesterday for a perm, trim, and eyebrow wax, and she stayed a whole hour late after closing time because my hair was thicker than average so it took longer than expected. I figured I'd have to come back another day for the trim or at least the eyebrows, but she and the lady cleaning up after the cut hairs really went above and beyond by going ahead and finishing the whole appointment. The perm is just what I asked for, too.
As far as prices go, they are clearly marked, it's not like they spring it on you out of nowhere. The quality and atmosphere is well worth it anyway.

I have been going to Margret since the summer of 2005, before Outlooks was called Outlooks, and it was located in the Aquia Harbor shopping center, near the movie theater. Whenever I get a haircut from her I know that it will be exactly what I ask for. She takes her time, and it shows. Together we have tried bobs, grown my hair back out to a longer length, and now we are trying some color, and I would not trust my risks to anyone else.

Yes, I walk out of there spending $60, but when you want a quality service it should be worth that much. If you don't care about having completely dry hair, or if you hair cut is lopsided, as mine has been when I tried other places, then I can give you a list of places, between Fredericksburg and Alexandria, to visit and you can still walk out paying the same amount of money for a poor service, whether you like it or not, because they won't fix their shotty work.

I made an appt. with Jeanine yesterday and when I made the appt. I told them that I wanted a wash, trim, style, & blow dry. When I got there, I told Jeanine that I wanted just the dead ends trimmed b/c I wanted to keep the length. When she started cutting my hair, which is curly, I noticed that she was taking off about 2 inches. I asked if my dead ends were bad and was told "no they looked really good." So I couldn't understand why she was taking off so much. When Jeanine was done cutting my hair, she took off my cape, left my hair soaking wet, and said "I'll meet you up front when you are ready to check out." I was so annoyed I didn't bother to ask for a blow dry b/c if this is the attitude they have, then I don't want to pay for a service they aren't willing to perform for their customers. Needless to say, my hair is now 3 inches shorter than I wanted it, since it is curly. I don't mind paying a good price for a good haircut, but this was a waste of my time and money. I will never go back to Outlook again!

I've been going to Natasha for 2 yrs and love this salon. It's expensive, as other reviewers have said, but having your hair done is expensive if you don't want to go to Hair Cuttery. Someone complained about an 85.00 updo. I agree that this is a lot of money for an updo, but you will pay that anywhere. That's just what it costs. It's not a bad reflection on the salon, just a reality. If you want your hair done reliably well then call Natasha.

I found this salon to be one of the best I have ever used. Prices are reasonable for the value of the services it provides. I highly recommended to anyone interested in taking good care of their hair.

My daughter and I went to Outlooks in September. I didn't write a review right away because I like to give myself time to work with a haircut- first impressions are always true.

Unfortunately, neither of us were happy with our cuts by Judy. She had cut a friend's hair so I thought I would give her a try but for the cost of $55 she was overrated. The cut was a bit choppy and uneven, especially around the bangs. Though the cut wasn't too bad it grew out poorly.

On top of that we were tag teamed by a new stylist who it appeared Judy was training. I wish we had been informed of this when we made our appointments. She asked us what we wanted and then dictated it to Judy. She washed our hair and she and Judy traded off on the blowdry and style portions. It was just weird and took forever.

The salon itself is okay. It needs a new paint job and a thorough cleaning- there is hair dye splattered on the walls near the stations. What was the final straw and very irritating was how they tried to sell us on setting up another appointment by getting something like the 8th or 10th haircut free. I told them that I didn't know my schedule that far ahead but I could call back and the stylist-in-training said, "Oh, I guess I don't need to tell you about our discount card then." It was very rude.

I honestly can't find any reason to go back.

This salon is awesome! Go to Judy for the best cut, color and style! This salon truly cares about your hair and that you are comfortable. In all the times that I've been there, not once has anyone complained about their haircuts, nor the price. I love my color, cut and style from Judy! She's awesome! They are honest with everyone that comes in. If you have bleached out hair and want to do some other processing to it, they will tell you the truth and give you direction on what to do...and you will leave happy. - Jennifer

I'm a college student so I generally don't get every single haircut from Outlooks because I'm at school. However, when I get the chance to come home, I'll usually get an appointment. I've only had one stylist more than once, and I've been happy with all but one lady (I think her name is Gerda??). The stylists have a short consult with you before they take you back to wash your hair to make sure they know exactly what you want, and they consistently check with you throughout the cut to make sure they're doing what you want.
Beyond all that though, you don't know what a good haircut is until you've had one there. They know what they're doing because they've been to the best beauty schools. They cut your hair in such a way that even when it starts growing out, the cut stays true to the shape. I generally keep my hair about chin length and I always get compliments on how the back of my hair sits so perfectly on my neck. Now, I'm not the best hair stylist, so I know it can't be the way I style it, so it must be the cut. Basically, if you're willing to pay a few extra bucks for a great haircut then this is definitely the place for you.

Wow, I cannot believe the price to just style hair into an updo. My daughter paid $85.00 for an updo. Her hair was gray from the hairspray used. I just could not believe the cost and the updo was nothing to brag about. I was just very disappointed, I know my daughter was but she is too kind to say anything.

Paid $50 (+ tip) for a simple, simple cut and style - - never again! I have paid less for a more pampered experience in a classy day spa location. Cut was okay; no complaints there. (name changed to Outlooks Salon).

First time I went to Impressions it was very expensive but I saw Thereasa. She was honest, suggestive and gave me great tips on styling. So, I have continued to go back to her. The past few times I have went to her it seems she has personal things going on with her life and bringing them to work with her. She appears to not care quite as much and maybe a little to comfortable with her customers. I like this place but may suggest a different stylist. They are pretty expensive just for a trim but you sometimes get what you pay for.

I've been client of Impressions for over 4 years. I switched to Impressions after receiving a terrible cut/color, non-existent customer service and rudeness from Winning Image. I had been a client of Winning Image for over 4 years and, after giving them several opportunities to redeem themselves, left for good. At Impressions I have received customer service of the highest caliber. Everyone there has been friendly and helpful. I've received great styles, honest opinions and recommendations. They phone you to confirm appointments and follow up if you have something new done. They consult with you before styling your hair, explain care during styling, and discuss how to manage your style once completed. I love being a client of Impressions. I'm a long time client and I highly recommend them.

I went to Nicole for an all over color and a few highlights, and everything went fine, until I was put under the dryer. I was left for double the length of time than I was supposed to be. My scalp turned red, and it started to itch tremendously. A few days went by and my hair was starting to break at my scalp and on my hair strands. I went back to them, and they told me it was because I blew dried my hair, and used a flat iron sometimes. Even though I have been styling my hair the same way for the last 4 years really did not interest them. I called corporate, because when I went back in to talk to Nicole, I got a nasty attitude from her. Heidi from corporate, pretty much said that there was nothing that they can do. And the fact that I was left under the dryer would not have caused my hair to break. At this point, getting any return from Impressions is pretty much non-existent. So I am just going to let everyone know how horrible this company is and to try and go to Winning Image in Stafford. I went to them yesterday to help fix my hair, they were so sympathetic to the situation. In the end they really don??t care about their clients or their service.
