Do Not Go Here!! This is NOT a "family" place the people who work here are rude and lazy, no one cares how long you wiat or how life threating your problem is. I have to say that I have received better service at mcdonalds and better results as well. One supposed doctor actualy brought their laptop in and I swear was using it to search my symptoms !! Didn't even look up!

This place is all about the money and nothing about the patient. It's a medical assembly line and the rude treatment starts the minute you walk through the door.

Prescription refills are a nightmare (they won't write them for more than 90 days even for chronic conditions like diabetes, blood pressure, etc.). When I complained about this (my previous doctor wrote my blood pressure prescription for 12 months) I was told it was because they "care about patients." What a laugh! Caring about patients involves charging them or their insurance company $130 every three months for an office visit to get their prescriptions refilled? How do YOU spell insurance fraud?

The front office staff is rude and incompetent and it's useless complaining to the sorry excuse for an office manager (Chris) as she is a huge part of the problem. She rolls her eyes and arches her eyebrows and smirks, and when you walk away she and the rest of the staff burst into laughter because a dissatisfied customer is so hilarious, right?

The owners of PWFM should take a good hard look at the reviews here and they will see that this isn't just one or two dissatisfied customers. They should wise up and question why they have such a poor rating compared to the other family practices in the Manassas area. Then again I doubt they care since they appear to only be interested in the money.

I first came to PWFM a year ago with uncontrolled Stage 3 hypertension. It took me three months to see a doctor because I was always scheduled to see a useless physician's assistant who never spent more than 5 minutes with me. He also dismissed my questions about diet, exercise and lifestyle changes stating it "didn't really matter." When I finally got to see a physician Dr. Lilly KC I was thrilled. She is concerned and attentive and I would love to continue to have her as my physician. Unfortunately, like most of the other posters have stated, the rest of the staff is the worst I have encountered anywhere. Forget trying to have a phone call returned. I received a message to call them "immediately" about some irregular test results that require follow-up testing. For three days I have tried to call, I have left messages with the people answering the phone asking that I be called on my cell phone but either the messages aren't being passed on or the nurses can't be bothered returning the calls. I have never been able to get a same day appointment. I will have my medical records transferred to a more responsive practice as this one clearly doesn't care about the incompetence of their physician's assistant and support staff.

My family of four started going to PWFM many years ago. Most times appointments were easy to get and they were able and happy to work in sick appointments. We also had foster children that we took there also and never had any issues. Until they moved to the new facility. Now the front end could care less about patients and more about being sure not to do someone elses work. Three of my family members left with Dr. D'sai, but my teenage daughter wanted to stay with Sarah Baxter, who I have found to be more knowledgeable in most cases than some doctors. However the referral dept needs a total overhaul from the office managers to the referral specialists. I have had to call both office managers about a referral for my daughter from a visit on Aug. 6, was assured each time that the matter would be taken care off. It is Oct. 4 and I am still waiting for that referral. Good thing it is not a life or death situation. I am in the process of finding my daughter another female doctor to see.

I have been a patient at Prince William Family Medicine for over 10 years. I have nothing but good things to say about my provider Dr. Lilly K.C. Dr K.C. has listen to my concerns and followed up on any issues that persist or require referral to a specialist. The staff excluding the front desk staff have been very professional. Face to face I found the front desk staff to very pleasant. I have had to call to leave a message for Dr. K.C. (arrangement made prior by Dr & I). I have also had to call to relay a message that my insurance company requires additional paperwork faxed in order to approve a procedure or medication. This is were the problem is I always speak to a very rude unprofessional down right hostile Cheryl. Cheryl has made comments on my situation without knowing the facts. I will do without some of my medications if I have to speak with Cheryl becasue the exchange is so unpleasant. My husband at times will need to phone for me and he too has found Cheryl to be openly rude and unprofessional. She has refused to answer questions but would answer with policy. I will be looking for another provider just to not have to be subjected to this hostile very rude person. I always fear that if I need Dr. K.C. she may never get the message because of her staff.

I have been a patient at PWFM and am currently looking for another family doctor. I started out with a great impression in my first visit when I saw Dr. D'Abreu. Since, however, I am always seen by a questionable quality physicians assistant or nurse.

Last year when I called to schedule a flu shot they informed me they were out. I asked to be called when they had more in stock and was told in no uncertain terms by a very rude receptionist that that is not their practice to call patients. When I said I was a current patient, she said she did not care "we don't call current patients either".

I read the other comments and decided to add my own. We switched from Kaiser Permanente to Pr Wm Family Medicine because of cost and a recommendation from a family friend for Dr. Desai. My husband has improved dramatically from his diagnosis and treatment. He talked us both into colonoscopies, which we were most reluctant to have and actually delayed many years. Both of us had findings which, if left undiagnosed and untreated, would have resulted in cancer. He has knowledge about so many different areas and makes appropriate referrals when necessary. We could have switched last open season - again - due to cost, yet decided to stay because of Dr. Desai. We have been happy with impromptu visits this winter due to sinus infections seeing the Physician's Assistants because they also provide immediate and successful care. I agree that the front and checkout staffs need some warm fuzzies. I love the new facility - it's immaculate.

I have been going to PWFM since my provider joined them about 6-8 years ago.
You are first greeted by the reception staff who, along with having absolutely no compassion that you may be sick, treat you as if your time (off from work) could in no way be of any value to them (i.e. Sign in, give us your copay, go sit and wait).
If, after having signed in over 20 min. ago, you ask how much longer you're expected to wait, you are treated as a complainer, and they have no desire to check for you, or inform you up front the provider is running behind. The medical staff in the back are a step up from the front desk staff. They, at least, treat you more human-like and actually seem as if they are happy they??re there to assist your provider to help you.
My provider has always been an excellent caregiver, and seems to care more than the other 3 providers I have seen there combined. She makes you feel like your problem is also her problem, and she wants to be there to help you. Unfortunately, that treatment ends when she leaves that exam room. You are left to find your way out of the practice maze, or to find where ??Check-out?? is, should you need a follow up. The only reason I continue to go to this assembly line of appointments is because of my provider. We have a 9 year history together, and sometimes I am not sure that is enough glue to hold me there. To the practice administrators, I ask you read this with an open mind, and realize this is the customer disservice most of your patients are receiving on a daily basis.

I would highly recommend PWFM. I have been a patient of this practice since 1982, and despite moving 40 plus miles away, I still come to Manassas when neccesary. The doctors are excellent, the staff polite, and the new office is extremely clean and comfortable!

Your child will have rotating doctors and most often be seen by physician assistants than nurses or doctors.

The billing office doesn't seem to know what they are doing either.
They don't know how to code documents properly and you will be pestered with bills becuase they can't read a medical card.

I'm also concerned about their hygenic standards..

I was very disappointed with my first (and last) visit to Prince William Family Medicine. I did not see a physician - I saw a nurse practitioner who ordered expensive (and in my opinion, unnecessary) tests. I ended up with no diagnosis, and a rather large bill from the practice. I expressed my disappointment in a professional letter to one of the physicians (as I was asked to do by the office manager), and the only reply I received was a phone call from another member of the admin. staff who stated that the physician read my letter, but that we were now "back to square one". I did not think the situation was handled in a professional or courteous manner.

I've had nothing but good service from the admin staff, nurses, and doctors at Prince William Family Medicine. They've been very responsive, especially in urgent situations. My family and I have been able to get timely appointments, as well as being "worked in" on several occasions when it was warranted. When we first switched to PWFM several years ago, my husband and I both had existing & lingering medical conditions which had been treated by other physicians. We were both surprised that the doctors at PWFM changed our regimens and achieved much better results for us. I couldn't be happier with the treatment my family and I have received. Also - we have never had a problem with the filing of insurance claims or any other administrative procedures. Kudos to everyone at this firm.

PROS: Good people, responsive, timely appointments, happy with medical results.
CONS:

I was a patient at Prince William Family Medicine. It's hard to get a same-day appointment if you're sick. The staff is rude, and messes up your insurance claims more often than they get them right. I switched because of the admin staff. I couldn't handle the hassle.

PROS: Lousy staff
CONS: Good Docs

The doctors here are good but I have had a couple of issues admin wise which makes me think again..The lab work takes a long time and you really have to wait to be taken as well as to get the results back from them. Also, I had put in order for mail order prescription and when they contacted this center and doc for approvals, they never responded! This made them cancel my order and now I have to jump though hoops to get the medicine.
