One of the worst management companies I have seen so far. I wish I could give them -5 as a rating. We pay them and therefore , we deserve better and professional service. They exist because of us , and therefore we should have a collective power to get them out of the business if they don't serve us well. Let's get together , share our stories, and file complaints against this company. I have created an survey to collect your complaints. My complaint:
They towed my guest cars twice with valid tag. I had two visitor tags. For the first time when it was towed, the management told that one of the 2 tags I had had been voided. I threw the one that they said was voided. Next time, when my guest's car was towed, they say that the old tag (based upon which my previous visitor's car was towed) is valid. I spent more than 3 hours unnecessarily, went to their office to validate the parking tag. Lesson learned: Don't trust its staffs; communicate with them only via email so that that you can take them to the court when needed.

I am sad to say I feel like everybody else.what I want to know is how your book keeping is.i am caught up and they keep billing me and cannot tell me what for.other than balance foward when they switched accounting software.well I know I was caught up have been since 2004 when I almost had to go to court brcause we fell 3 months behind.so sorry I was very sick and it was not intentional when we got the letter my wife tried to talk to them but to no avail. Beware

Much like what is already stated, this company handles things in a draconian fashion. I have been cited for the simplest of things, such as having my boat parked (while I was loading it for a trip), grass not being cut (while we were on vacation), and having a trailer parked in my driveway (using it over the weekend).

They have little gestapo board members that will trespass on your property to take pictures and report the violations. They expect impeccability in everything as though they live in multi-million dollar gated communities.

I requested use of the pool on a Monday evening to have the Boy Scout troop do their annual swim test. they delayed maing a decision until after the scheduled date and then sent disapproval after the fact. This is Boy Scouts, not a bunch of partying rowdies, and on a Monday evening when no one is usually at the pool.

Do yourself a favor and steer clear of renting or buying in this area. They do not know the laws, Fairfax County is no help, and they will incessantly violate your right to quiet enjoyment of your property.

I had nothing but terrible experiences with this company. The manager is rude, argumentive, and disrespectful. She argues with our board and the members of our community. She complains about having to do "her" job. She constantly makes errors and tries to pass the blame. And, she is suppose to be their top manager. When I complained to her superior he defined her behavior saying she is very passinate about her job and sometimes gets over zealous! She has crossed the line of confidentiality at times. I could go on but I think I made my point. The cheapest is not always best.

I agree will all of you. This is money collector company. They do nothing and all the time bother the home owners. lets get together and change the service to another company. I feel I am being nit picked by the company since I have raised some issues about the safety of the neighborhood and other regulations that the renters (14 + people to a home) are pulling. I have received numerous violations recently. I understand some of them. But I have never had to answer, in 20 + yrs of living here, to my gutters and downspouts being white or not having my grass cut. Forget we have children unsupervised walking in glass where the trash is left or white rocks being tossed at our cars or that we may accidently hit these babies unsupervised by our cars (yes, babies--2-4 yrs old running w/o suppervision in the neighborhood and in parking lots), or the older children w/ no respect to the cars smacking a ball around or biking between cars and scratching them in th parking lots. My car is a dinged disaster. As long as my grass is below 6 inches, I guess my expensive car doesn't matter! Oh, and guess who's car gets towed first? The expensive ones. Unfortunately, I'd be too housepoor to move and have been the victim of having my house shot at with doors brokens, gates broken, and a 12in knife blade found in my backyard. Why care about that? My grass is over 6 inches. I did report the violence on my home all times and my neighbors having their home sprayed w/ MS-13 and the neighbors were required to clean their own home. The police are even done with this area. So, long story short, this company is focusing on the length of your grass in your yard. Like that could hide a criminal! LOL It's absurd where the priorities are.

Terrible company. I just wish there was some way to be report them. Everytime an issue is raised with them they ignore you. If you do get a response from them it is nasty and rude and does not have anything to do with the question you raised. You then run the risk of being "blacklisted" so that you are hounded for everything. There are many times that they did not (or do not) follow the regluations that are listed in the Association Documents but God forbid you do not follow every rule to the letter. They are quick to quote the rules but they feel they do not have to follow them. What a joke!!! I will definitely sign the petition to get a new company that is going around.

Sequoia Management...I have never dealt with such unprofessionl's in my life, when you call, they are rude and unhelpful, they dont even try....we are still waiting for pool passes after 10 days of faxing the application.We went to the pool, showed proof of residence and was asked to leave, they even called the police and had them escort us out of the pool area, when we first looked at the condo's here at rippon landing, we were told that they were waiting for the "state of the art" gym and it was going to be a million dollar gym, WHAT A JOKE!!! 4 pieces of equipment for over 3000 residents, there are peope wanting to take a petition to get rid of sequoia management.....count me in!!!

Look, these management associations work with the petty fascist thugs that run HOA's - what does an HOA do - they maintain a pool, hire a gardening service to cut lawns, and pay the trash hauler. Whopdidoo. Rocket science right? Sequioa is just as rude and stupid as are the HOA's that hire them. They're very quick to have their little Nazis walk around the neighborhood sending out letters of complaint, but when it's pointed out to them that a) my house doesn't have the fixture that needs to be fixed (for example), etc., then then b) never respond and/or simply ignore what you send them.

But boy, you're one day late in paying for the s*&t that passes for service, and they hound you to death.

It is a mangement company that is more incline to cause problems then solve them. That flat out misrepresent what is in governing documents, i.e, the Declaration and the POA act. Most people will find if they just take the time to look at their declaration they will find it has been misrepresented. I would advise people before they pay this management company a dime for any violations they look at the POA Act and their Declaration. Thsi company will misrepresent their authority to collect money in which they have no authority.

I have nothing good to say about this company. Since living in my townhouse they have never enforced a single policy they seem so passionate about. They will send letters about trash cans, grass too high etc...but they never enforce the rules. My 2 experiences recently were terrible. I never received my pool passes and left 4 messages to resolve the issue. They never called back. I had to drive to their office to speak to someone.Most recently, I moved and decided to rent my townhouse. I then needed to get my pool passes sent to my tenants and have my HOA bill sent to my new address. 4 months later, 6 voicemails and 4 emails to different people, I still have not heard from them. Thankfully my HOA bill was forwarded to my new address by tenants so I was not hit with their late fee.Poor company, poor service. Not much more I can say. I do not have a single good experience in over 5 years.

They should consider welcoming new owners rather then harass us for previous owner mistakes. I purchased a foreclosed home that needed thousands of dollars just to get up to code. They wrote me letters and took me to hearings about things like exterior door paint color and light fixture designs before I even had a main level floor. It took me three months just to make the home move in ready and they had no respect of effort and time needed to get home ready. A little understanding would have been nice. The neighbors thought I was a hero for fixing the house but sequoia was unreasonable with timelines and stupid demands. I still have one dumb hearing left to attend.

A few months ago I received a letter stating that I had violated the condo rules by placing spray cans in my balcony and two old window screens. This just infuriated me because I had no such thing in my balcony, so I wrote them a letter, took pictures of my property andsent it to them requesting an apology for the false accusation. Ofcourse I got no response.Then a few weeks later, I got another letter stating i had two damaged window screens. So I assumed this was the window screen in one of my rooms which had a small hole and replaced it within two weeks of the notice. About a month later I received another letter for a hearing infront of the board of Directors for the violation of the window screens. I mean...can someone tell the management company to repair their leaking roofs in the buildings rather than go around trying to rip off the innovcent homeowners by false accusations and penalty fees!!! All they do is go around taking pictures of peoples properties in search on violations so they can charge us to get money to compensate their budget cuts. This is just terrible and unfair and I think people with the same experience should collaborate and do something about this unfair treatment.

I moved into my current home about a year ago, and this community has been under Sequoia Management for a long time now. They are prompt in sending you the monthly bills and newsletters..
Parking management is a big concern in my community and I have heard a lot a complaints from my neighbours in that matter. Personally, I didn't have much issues with parking. They have partnered with a new trash removal company recently after a lot of problems with the previous one. One time I emailed them about a question I had about bulk trash pickup and they took about a week to answer that..They are pretty prompt in returning calls..
Overall, I didn't have much problems with them till now..

This is my first experience dealing with a homeowners association and so far I am not impressed. They do not give new residents any info at all when they move in. They get the dues bill out very quickly though! I am still trying to find out how I get access to the pool. They sent a letter of violation to the previous owner of my house a few weeks before closing regarding the storm door that was on the house when THEY bought it and made them remove it before closing. Now this door was 100% in compliance with the guidelines, their only complaint was they stated they had no application on file for it. Which the owner couldn't even dispute since it had been there for a few years. He asked about filing a form to keep it on and they were going to allow it IF he paid a fine. So he took it off and now I have a storm door in my garage and at some point I'll have to file forms and jump through hoops to get it approved....then PAY someone to put it back up! It just seems ridiculously complicated. It's worse than dealing with the government. The subdivision's website is no help....it's about a year out of date.

PROS: They do keep the grounds looking nice
CONS: excessive bureaucracy, poor info.

I do not understand why so many communities use them for their HOA. The people who work here are plain rude and feel that they have all the power. They reject most modification requests outright first time and you have to fight a lot to get things done. Many other friends of mine complain about this too.
