Awful! Awful! Awful! That about sums it up. From the service to the food. It is the worst restaurant in Reston with one of the best locations. If this guy can make a living with terrible service, awful food and dingy unmaintained facilities then imagine what someone else could do with a little bit of effort. I believe the place still has the original carpeting and furniture. Even the big crack in the glass window behind the bar is 10 or more years old. Please someone buy this place and turn it around.

Despite its name, Lakeside Inn is no more a seafood restaurant than it is an actual inn with sleeping accommodations. What you'll find is a warm, receptive atmosphere and a splendid view in the glass-enclosed dining room patio. Good food and honest service make the dining experience enjoyable.

The bar has a charm all its own, where more than one visit will earn you status as another beloved regular. There's even some kind of frequent dining program that seems to pay you for each visit. That kind of deal, in the heart of the 'burbs, makes any casual evening out time and money well spent.

Pros: Local, Quaint Restaurant with Good Bar Scene

Cons: Dated Decor

Worst seafood in memory. The other review here is correct. Steak sandwiches are decent, soups blah, and just about all the dinner meals are overpriced and extremely ordinary. Ok for a light lunch of chicken salad with a bloody mary, but that's about it. The bar keeps the place in business and the owner is totally resistant to any criticism regarding the awfulness of much of the food.

Lakeside is a locally owned casual-dining restaurant on the lake, serving American food. The food is really good - especially pub fare like hamburgers and steak sandwiches. I stay away from the fish & chips - frozen fish fillets that are worse than elementary school lunch fish sticks. They have a nice Sunday brunch with breakfast and lunch items. Prices are great for a nice sit-down restaurant with a lake view. They have a smoking section in the dining area, and a separate small bar area.

PROS: Good food, service & prices
CONS:

Popular for its lakeside location, this Reston watering hole has an active bar scene and an all-American menu. Old favorites include crab-cake sandwiches, prime rib (a house special), steaks, French onion soup, salads, baby back ribs and…
