Glad I'm not the only one who thought they were unprofessional :-( They bickered and didn't wrap a vase from England tightly (thank the Lord I caught THAT mess up!); wow can't wait to NOT use them again.

My HHG were shipped from Williamsburg, VA to Seoul, ROK. The company that packed and moved the HHG was Clark Transfer and Storage, Newport News - Chesapeake, VA. This was by far the most unprofessional move I've endured in 34 years of government service.
The ladies packing the boxes simply threw things in some boxes - a clay statue purchased 20 years ago in Panama was rendered to dust. The men who wrapped the furniture and put it in the crates did not bring the proper wrapping materials. They wrapped only in paper. Several times I asked that they cut cardboard to at least protect the corners and legs. They refused, insisting the paper was the standard and there would be no movement in the crates because it would be packed tight. I knew better then and I have the proof today. All of our furniture is damaged to one extent or another. The movers here in Korea have certified that the damage was obviously a result of poor packing as the damaged areas had torn/rubbed paper at each damage site.
Clark, no doubt, found day laborers along the street and called them packers and movers, because they were clueless about this business.
Now, why didn't I make a bigger stink while they were packing. I felt as if I were between a rock and hard place. The move was scheduled between finishing work and cleaning people coming to clean and inspect the house. They would have had to come back another day with proper packing materials and a new crew. My schedule did not afford the extra day. Also, I felt as if here I was placing all of my possessions in the hands of strangers who I might just really upset by calling to question their "professionalism."
