Family Pet Center

I just purchased my shih tzu puppy from this pet store and she's in GREAT health. She's friendly, active and sociable. Took a little time to potty train her but i'm sure that's from being hemmed up in a cage. I DO NOT support puppy mills, however, these dogs are still in need of good homes, weather from a puppy mill or not! It's not these puppies faults if the staff sucks.....

This store is overpriced and sleazy. The staff at the counter are always bustling around, ignoring customers waiting to ask questions. When I finally got ahold of a woman to ask her how much she wanted for a Boston Terrier pup and, without making any eye contact or acknowledging me she replied, "$1500". WHAT! There's no way I'm forking over $1500 for a Boston that came from a pet store at the mall, that's probably sick (poor thing), and originated from who knows where. Bad business. ADOPT!

The pet I purchased was sick. Made several visits to the vet. The pet was under warranty but getting a refund was very difficult. The warranty doesn't cover the illnesses pet often get from pet store. I learned my lesson this is not a place to shop for a pet. I can understand a pet getting sick but the seller needs to do the right thing when it happens. Don't count on that happening at this store.

I can't believe this place is still in business. They're the only petstore in the area that still sells cats and dogs. Is there not enough negative media about Virginia and puppymills? I guess supply and demand will always win in the end.
