.

We were involved at Power Kix for 4 years, and paid between $13,000 and $15,000 for instruction and other related costs to Power Kix. All of our contracts were paid in full at the time we signed. If this seems like a lot of money, it is.

As my sons contract was coming to an end, we discussed the facts that his class size was growing, The staff seemed to be having difficulty covering the material, and he was becoming disinterested. Classes were becoming more like an assembly line and became impersonal. We decided to terminate our contracts based on the cancellation policy in the agreement. Leaving Power Kix was a difficult decision for us.

We made an appointment to meet with the office manager and informed her of our decision. Since we had paid for 2 contracts in full, Power Kix owed us a refund of the remaining value of the contracts, less a 25% cancellation fee. Imagine our surprise when we received a check for only a portion of our refund. We responded back through email with a detailed computer generated spreadsheet, itemizing the terms of the contract, and how much Power Kix continued to owe us.

Power Kix responded in an email stating, this is new for us and that they based their calculation on a series of checkpoints, none of which were stated anywhere in the contract. Power Kixs email response made it clear that they had no intention of abiding by their contract.

We tried the Better Business Bureau. No luck. So, we filed a Warrant in Debt in Stafford County Court. The court date arrived, but Power Kix did not. After looking over the documents that I provided, and my testimony, the judge ruled in our favor. Great, case closed, we can now move on and get OUR money back from Power Kix.

After notifying Power Kix of the judgment, their teeth came out. I dont want to put words into their mouths, so Ill let their words speak for them.

We will get a check out soon. I will say that the only reason we are doing this is to completely end our relationship. The ineptness of Stafford County Court system is the only reason you have a piece of paper to email us. We were told the case had been dismissed, only to be called back and given the wrong court time. Although our school has always welcomed back anyone who has EVER been associated with POWER KIX for events like Black Belt Exams, Holiday parties etc, please know that does not extend to you and your family.

We still did not get our money. We filed to have wages garnished. On February 18, 2013 we finally received our refund, four days before the court date. We started this process in May of 2012. We also received a very unprofessional letter that we could not upload.

We paid for all of the instruction that our family received plus a $869.48 cancellation fee. Im not sure why Power Kix has such animosity towards us as they stated in their letter. All of this was based on THEIR legal contract. Their correspondence was very unprofessional and disrespectful. As they mention in the letter, now the contracts have been rewritten so future parents who spend years here wont be allowed to just change their minds, tells a lot of the mindset of the Power Kix management team. Not to mention the comment in the letter, you left nothing here, but a bad taste in everyones mouth. They seem to have forgotten that we PAID them and between $13,000 and $15,000. It must be nice to be able to consider that kind of money as nothing.

No one deserves to be spoken to and disrespected in the way that Power Kix did to us, a good customer. After all, they had no problem with us as customers each time we handed them our credit card. I am sorry for giving them my patronage.

Dont go to Power Kix. Your efforts will be over looked, your dedication unnoticed, your loyalty not returned, and if you decide to change your mind Well I guess you cant.
