if you want to wait for 3 hours and longer go to this urgent care . the test that they will perform to you is not reliable . I went to other urgent care for a second opinion and the result of my culture is positive . Thank God I am on augmentin now and I felt better.

Why I give Inova Urgent Care in Vienna at least 1 star ... because I arrived within a half hour of their closing and they at least saw me ...

Why I give Inova Urgent Care in Vienna only a 1 star ... I arrived with severe chest pains. The nurse failed to start an IV in my hands after multiple attempts. Two other nurses idly stood by and watched. The closest the doctor came to me was the doorway to the exam room. The EKG they ran was so bad due to the leads (??) it could not be read.

Ultimately they called an ambulance ... in the ambulance the attendants were able to successfully start an IV (on the first try!) and reran the EKG.

Once I arrived at Inova Fairfax ER I was told by two doctors I should never go to the Urgent Care in Vienna ... apparently I wasn't the first patient they had seen who did not receive the treatment needed.

Thankfully I was not suffering a heart attack (which we were fairly certain it was not) but had it been a cardiac problem I shudder to think what the outcome would have been ...

AND (as if there needs to be more?) ... after my primary insurance paid their portion, my secondary insurance mailed the final payment to Inova Urgent Care. They claim they never received the check and refuse to do anything about it, except turn to a collection agency. Things happen but this is the second time their billing department has "failed" to receive payment. The first time I cut to the chase and paid the balance myself. Not so eager to do it again.

I would seek medical treatment there only if there were no other options.

Horrible. Before I even saw the doctor the nurse treated me like a pill seeker and said that the doctor would not prescribe me any narcotics. She asked me to dress in a gown. When he came in the room he told me that he could only treat me with the medicane that I already had that was not working. He said that there was nothing he could do. He did not even give me a physical examination. When I asked him to see a supervisor he said there was no one there that could help me further so I asked the receptionist. The nurse came out with a number to mental health. I was with my 7 year old son for at least a half an hour. It was a waste of time and a humiliation. I left fuming.

I had been there three time before, and always needed to wait for about 45min to 1 hour, and it's a first-come-first- serve place. So, it was ok though not a pleasant experience.

But, my last visit was quite uncomfortable experience for me. I had been waiting for 50-60 minutes at that point and noticed that some people who came after me called their names. By the time when finally I was called, some of those people who came after me even left and gave pitty/ curious eyes to me!!!
The nurse told me she was the only one she could do the shot I needed, but she called another guy who came after me before me! Her excuse was she thought she could get him done quick. BUT, she then didnt have any respect to my time!! That guy waited only for 15-20 minutes when he was called. While I was already waiting for 1 hour!!! It is rediculous. She tried to justify her order of calling patients, but that didnt make sense. I didnt argue much as I really wanted to leave asap.

You can get a standard care at higher costs, plus sometimes LONG UNREASONABLE waiting time.

I took my son to the Urgent care in Vienna. The receptionist was very welcoming. We waited about 20 minutes, which was not bad because the waitng room was pretty full. The doctor was excellent, explaining everything in terms I could understand. Nurse came in to discharge us, asked if I had any questions and gave my son stickers. Excellent experience.

the receptionist is not the most helpful person in the world, but i didn't go there to see her so that doesn't bother me. the wait was long, but to be expected at any urgent care in a busy town. i went for a gashed knee and the both the nurse and doctor were excellent. the nurse cleaned all the dirt around my knee, held my hand while i got numbed up, and talked to me while the doctor was stitching me up. the doctor took extra care because i am a runner and she didn't want it to open again. she was patient with all my questions and told me to come back in three days to check for infection. the nurse checked me out when i went back, said all was well, and i ran into the doctor in the parking lot. she remembered me and asked how i was doing. and then i was told to come back in 7-10 days to have stitches removed, and that i can set up an appointment for that. all one co-pay, three visits. not too shabby.

I fell off a rickety ladder a couple weeks ago while painting. The ladder gave out and down I went! I felt fine, until I put my hand on the back of my head, which hit a newel post, and felt wetness. Uh-oh. I immediately went to the freezer and found a bag of peas, but thought better of it and decided to call the Urgent Care center to see if I could get some stitches. There was only one other person in the wait room, so I was escorted in within 15 - 20 minutes. (The bleeding had stopped by then.) The nurse checked me BP, etc., and about 10 minutes later the doc came in. They stapled my wound, and I was on my way within an hour total. I went back a couple days later for a follow up, then a week 1/2 later to remove the staples. All docs were terrific and cheerful! Nursing was efficient, and they charged one fee for everything - wasn't nickeled and dimed to death.

I went there two weeks ago about my ankle, which felt like it was sprained or broken. They cheerfully checked me in, then I waited about 30 minutes to see the doctor. He took the time to carefully examine me and ask questions. They quickly took x-rays, had the results almost immmediately, and the doctor got back to me shortly with his diagnosis. He let me ask all of the questions I had and explained his answers completely. Overall, I was very pleased with the entire experince and would not hesitate to return.

Terrible! Go somewhere else!! Two hour wait for 60 second visit from doctor who seemed put out by me. X-rays didn't capture any images so another 30 minutes to re-take them and when I asked for copies to take somewhere else they said I had to pay another $20 to get copies of the x-rays I just paid for. Inova urgent care is a turn and burn money making center. No real care given!!!!

Excellent service and care! I've used them for strep throat, a shoulder injury that required x-rays, and physical exams for camp forms. The wait is never too long. And, they accepted my insurance. This is a great after-hours alternative to the ER or suffering through the night with a fever or broken arm!

The staff and doctor were both very kind and helpful. The doctor was especially attentive in answering all of my questions and showing me the exact results of the examination they'd performed to diagnose me. Good place to go to for problems that aren't too severe but not where I would want to go for a real emergency or if I was in a rush. The whole process took about 2 HOURS, when I only saw the doctor for about 10 MINUTES.

Went there on a Sunday morning. Arrived first thing and was in and out within an hour. When I left, the waiting area was full. Staff and Dr. were very nice. I would go again if I couldn't get into to see my regular doctor or needed immediate care that isn't an emergency room visit.

Like any other urgent care... it's busy! But its convenient for the few times I've gotten sick at work and my regular doctor is booked. The staff can be very robotic but the doctors are very caring.

When I arrived with my young daughter, I realized that we might be in for a LONG wait. They had put in folding chairs to add extra seating to the waiting room. When I asked the receptionist how long the wait was she said about 1/2 hour to 40 minutes. I also asked how many doca tors there were. She said one now, but another is due to arrive in about 10 minutes. She was right on. We were seen by the second doctor and out of the facility in 1 hour 5 minutes. It is a CRAZY Flu season and they handled our case of the flu efficiently and effectively.

After a car accident I visited the clinic because of neck pain and knee pain. Because of previous knee surgery(9/07) I was most concerned about knee. I told attending doctor I already had an appt with orthopedic dr so she was not concerned about knee. She did check my neck and told me I had whiplash. A prescription was written for muscle relaxer to help neck pain. Nothing else said about knee, which was twisted during accident and had swelling. Receptionist seemed anxious to close office, it was 6:00 Sunday evening. Previous experience has been better.

Last winter, I went to this walk-in clinic as I felt some pressure in my ear. When I saw the doctor, I was told my ear drum was closed and I should see a specialist. Which I did, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with my ear-drum (it was open normally), I simply had some pressure which would go away over the course of the week. I ended up having to pay two consultations (Inova + specialist) + extra hearing test at the specialist who confirmed that my hearing was "excellent". I was upset that I had been misdiagnosed, wasted time and money. Also, I agree with the previous reviews that the receptionist is very unhelpful. l felt like I needed to apologize before daring to ask her a question. Unbelievable!

Took my elderly father in for a swelling on his face. We had to wait more than 20 minutes. The Doctor was very inexperienced and misdiagnosed it as a stroke, which obviously scared my dad. They ended up sending him to the Fairfax ER in an ambulance, where a good ER physician diagnosed it as a blocked saliva gland, within 15 minutes of examining him. I too will go directly to the ER from now on. We ended up having to pay twice.

Three visits to Inova Health Care in Vienna have been sufficient to prompt me to warn people to go elsewhere. A full waiting room with a 2 hour wait, a disinterested, uninformed receptionist-the only useful information that she provided was that ther are "sometimes 2 doctors there-usually one. The physicians are harried, hurried and singularly detached. While I was there the staff (who are all those people doing nothing in the back) were joking that there were no blankets and proceeded to fold laundry in front of patients.A money making racket in the heart of a family community-go elsewhere with your loved ones.

I have visited this urgent care center on two occasions, each time outside of my regular doctor's office hours, and in a situation where I needed immediate care. On each occasion I was seen within 15 minutes of signing in. In each case the doctor was patient and understanding in dealing with my nervousness, very knowledgeable, and took the time to explain my problem and how she arrived at the diagnosis. The support staff was polite and efficient. It's comforting to know that this clinic is available to me and my family outside of doctors' normal office hours.

PROS: Prompt, efficient, quality medical care.
CONS: A bit of a hike from my home.

I went to this urgent care and had an awful experience. I appeared to be the only one in the waiting room with any type of emergency and later found out that it is also an occupational health building. All the people who were just sick (not emergencies) were seen before me. I waited over 1 hour to be seen. I then sat in a waiting room that was freezing and was told to put on a childs sized gown. The nurse was very unprofessional and the doctor didnt know much and had to send me to the ER at the hospital (which later ended up being a stomach virus!) Just because they are INOVA does NOT mean that they are part of the Inova Fairfax Hospital. This is important to know because you will pay two copays if you get sent to the hospital. Overall a waste of time and will go straight to the ER next time. I also tried to get a receipt when I left and was told that they dont do computerized receipt. The receptionist hand wrote a receipt for me. Unbelievable!
