We went here with a party of 12 on the friday night before Fathers day, 2012! They easily joined tables to accommodate our party and kept the water glasses filled. The salad bar was not as extensive as some salad bars go, but there was adequate variety. Maybe there could be less emphasis on selections that are blended with mayonnaise based goop, but it is usually only meant to be an accompaniment to an entree. I had the Louisiana Fried Shrimp, and I didn't read the the details close enough to realize the "Louisiana" in the title meant it was spiked with cayenne for that Cajun zing. I ended up bagging half of it for leftovers.

That section of Yorktown and Northern Newport News has exploded in commerce in the past 10-15 years, and there is an enormous variety of dine in and takeout food choices available. Another Ruby Tuesday is few miles away. This brand might be lesser known in the NJ/NY area where we are from, but we have been to the one at the Garden State Plaza in Paramus a few times with enjoyable results. That was one of the reasons we decided to take a chance on the brand when visiting here in Virginia.

As always, the staff that you come in contact with make all the difference and these folks were very pleasant and attentive to our needs, especially with five children among us. It also helps to dine at 5pm with kids on a busy dining night like Fridays. The last exceptional feature of our stay was that the waitress had no problem with splitting the check up any way that we wanted. My wife and I had both ordered the pricier seafood dishes and had two kids with us, and some in our party were solo or just two. Before kids, I used to hate how it was decided, usually by the big entree choosers, that the bill get split even by all the adults. This avoided any awkward math calculations. It would be a major promotional feature in if all restaurants would do this instead of trying to avoid the bother.

The food is always good - the salad bar fresh and plentiful; however, in my opinion the prices are too high for this type of restaurant. This isn't one of the first places I choose to go for lunch, because it's difficult to get out for less than $10.

Save your money, and go to Burger King. The wait isn't horrible, and the staff are decent. The food on the other hand, is some of the nastiest food I have ever put in my mouth. The burger's are gross. You are better off making your own burger at home, I guarantee it will taste 100 times better. For that matter, Burger king has a better burger.

Whenever my family wants to have a nice dinner out, we always think of this Ruby Tuesdays. I can always count on the salad bar to be well stocked and fresh, with many selections, more that at other Ruby Tuesdays, I do believe. The menu choices are out of this world, and the steaks, are much better that most of the much more expensiveSteak houses, at much less money. They offer food that is kid friendly and several low carb options as well, I have to go now, as I am getting very hungry writing this

PROS: salad bar, steaks, appetizers, yummy
CONS: sometimes there is a wait to be seated
