Shiang Yu

Would just like to say the comment posted by user "lise a" must be nothing short of a complete falsification of events, due to the fact that I have been going to Shiang Yu for the past 10 years, and not once have I ever witnessed such behavior. The management has changed at one point over these last 10 years, and although I do not know the new management as well as I did the old, I can safely say they would never do such a thing as reaching into someone's wallet or even touching their personal belongings without permission.

The management is always polite, and they do not "hang around your table creepily." It's a small restaurant, which, and let's be honest, does not get much business mostly due to its location and being lost in the anonymity that is the sea of chinese restaurants. Naturally the staff has little to do when it is slow, and they want to be sure that all your needs are catered to as quickly as possible. They are not trying to eavesdrop on your silly stories about your life, nor are they trying to check you out in a creepy fashion, and just by thinking that says quite a lot about you as the ego-centric, paranoid person that you are.

Do not let this lie deter you from at least giving Shiang Yu a try. Their food is quite good.

Shaing YU is definitely the best chinese food in the area. We have lived in the area or over 13 years and no chinese restaurant is better. All the people there are so nice and always treat you so well. The service is fast and excellent.

I can honestly say this was the most disgusting chinese food we ever had. When we first moved here from San Francisco California we were craving good chinese food we ordered takeout from Shiang Yu and we were very disappointed. We always try out a restaurant twice so we decided to drop in Shiang Yu and try what they specialize in we were beyond disapointed. We found the man who was waiting tables behavior very disturbing. we were the only ones in the restaurant besides a three teenage boys who were very well behaved the waiter or manager was hanging around them in a really creepy fashion watching their every move. We were disturbed at this mans lurking around them. When he brought these teenage boys their bill one of the boys started to open his wallet and this man literally reached over and stuck his hand into the wallet and grabed money out and would not give it back when the young man asked for it. He just told them he was taking his tip. He did not even give the kids a chance to pay before he did this I would never go back after seeing such disturbing behavior on the part of the employee or owner whoever he was it was very disturbing that he would take advantage of teenage kids. He would have never done this to adults Just say no to Shiang Yu bad food and very disturbing behavior shame on them...

For chinese food there is no other place for us than Shiang Yu. We have been going to this restaurant for over 5 years now and entering there is like walking into the home of an extended family. They remember you, what you order, what the kids are allergic to and even how old they are. They make you feel so welcome and at home and that is a hard thing to feel in a restaurant. Their food is delicious and always served very quickly. They check up on you to make sure you are happy with what you received. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
