I'm very dissatisfied with this clinic. Not only is a majority of the staff poorly mannered, they are less than willing to hear your concerns without interjecting. I don't care much for personal morals (for example: refusing to prescribe birth control because of doctor's religion), I'm looking for well educated, compassionate people. After 10+ years attending this doctor, I'm OVER it. They're so unsympathetic and provide little direction when persecuting medication. Essentially, you are nothing but "a number" to them. The wait is also horrendous. My average wait is 30 minutes. Meanwhile, I watch people come and go. Good riddance ASFH.

After being a patient of Dr. Campbell for almost 10 years, I have noticed that scheduling appointments have become more difficult and less flexible. Especially since their move from Earlysville to Charlottesville.

I am a not in any direct way connected to these physicians (as in a patient), but I do happen to know that they have tremendous hearts to care for those they serve and work to give the best care possible. For all you reading this post, I would like to suggest that you carefully and critically consider the challenges that physicians and medical personnel face these days, especially with the healthcare demands looming in current legislation & practice regulations. It is too easy for all of us to get wrapped up in a selfish, "me-first" mentality and demand too much from those who are in good faith serving the community. You risk injuring the reputation of good medical workers and indirectly could effect rising costs of healthcare which will, in turn, affect your pocketbook. Think first before you comment - the internet is a place of easy conversation but what you say could slander or unknowingly damage those that have lots of legal and medical hoops to jump through just to provide you with basic care. Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this post. And, by the way, take time to pray for and actually thank your doctor, nurse, or office staff today!

Lacking in follow-up recommendations and solutions. Not one call back from the doctor or nurse practitioner, only from semi-informed nurses trying to relay information. Now that they've gotten my co-pay, I guess they can't just bill my insurance for phone call recommendations. Feel like I'm just a number to them, how fast can they get my visit over with and on to the next? They seem quick to hand me off to others.
Desperately seeking a caring compassionate doctor who can at least return his or her own phone calls and commiserate with their patient.

My family have been going to this practice for 19 years. The doctors are good. The nurses are wonderful. However, the women in the office and reception area are cold, short, unpleasant, and curt. The customer service skills of the receptionist, office workers, and person who answers the phone, and makes appointments and answers questions are rude and short. if you can get beyond the women in the front this practice is OK.

Review change:

I applaud Andy MacFarlan for helping me resolve the misunderstanding that lead me to write the last poor review. My opinion of this family practice has been much improved.

Disatisfication: with Andy McFalan. He told me to find another doctor after refusing St. John Wort and asking intelligent questions. * MayoClinic.com:

1. St. John's wort

This herb, often taken to relieve depression, is always at the top of the list of potentially problematic natural remedies because it can cause serious side effects and increase or decrease the potency of many medications. The Mayo Clinic recommends that many people should avoid it, including those taking antidepressants, anti-blood-clotting drugs, certain asthma drugs, immune-suppressing medications or steroids.

My family has been seeing the doctors in this practice since it was located in Earlysville. The office is always clean and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. I've brought my children here since they were in kindergarten and have always experienced high quality of care and plenty of time for questions and concerns.

This practice has moved recently and is now located in the Albemarle Square, near ACAC, on Route 29. The practice is also now called Albemarle Square Family Health Care Center. My regular doctor is Dr. Campbell. This practice gives the most complete medical care of any practice that I have been to. I feel that Dr. Campbell devotes as much time to me ever time that I am in there as I need. The office is always very clean and inviting and the staff is very friendly.

PROS: Excellent Medical Staff
CONS: Slight Climate Control Issues in the summer
